This wasn’t my first time at a gym, but I wanted to try out City Sports Clubs with a "guest pass". Their website gave me constant technical issues, and when I finally managed to submit my information, the guest pass never arrived in my email. I went to the gym assuming they could look me up, only to be told it takes 24 hours for the pass to arrive—completely unheard of. Frustrated, I couldn’t work out that day. Later, I received a call from them. Without my consent, they scheduled me for an appointment to come in. I reluctantly agreed, as I thought this was maybe about getting me my guest pass only to discover the appointment was just a pushy attempt to sell me a membership. All the negative reviews about them aggressively pushing for you to buy a membership? They’re spot on. To top it off, the gym is overcrowded and not worth the hassle. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place, go to in shape apparently not as pushy.

Amazing equipment setup Can get busy between 3-7 but that’s every gym Always clean !!! Negatives 1- they have a Weird pool company contract so you can’t pay for your kid to swim with you. You have to pay them even if they don’t need lessons. Seems like a monetary benefit for the company instead of letting the members get that benefit 2- the lights. They say it’s an electrical problem but they turn them off in certain sections and it’s not good for a gym ambiance to lift in a dark corner tbh. I would give 5 stars if the gym was well lit and the staff didn’t turn off sections.

I signed up with a friend under a family plan. We were told it would cost $59 each month for a gym membership. Not bad. We also asked about a personal trainer. For both of us it would cost $240 each month and a one time Enrollment Fee of $49 totaling $289. That I could handle. When I looked at my bank statement, I was charged the $289 as well as $208.96 for a training start up fee that they failed to mention. And as for that $59 a month for our gym membership, they added another charge of $118 for an Annual Fee. So instead of seeing $348 for the first month and $299 thereafter, I was charged $914.96 for two months. And did I mention, they work on commission. The gym itself is great. I love my trainer, Mossy, and all the classes they offer, but watch out, they my start charging us for all the miscellaneous used.

I've been working out at City Sports Vallejo since 2021. Everyone is great. I really like the staff. I was using an on line program for weight lifting. I was worried that my form might be off & I wanted to make sure it was right. I asked Coach Thomas to check to make sure I was correct. He was great with pointers and suggestions. I have been beyond pleased with his feedback. I'm 69 so he listened to my concerns and adjusts the exercises if needed. He focused on balance, strength training and movement, so important as one ages. I always felt amazing and so healthy after my workouts & I know that I have had a really good workout due to his coaching. I'm very happy with my results. I can’t say enough about Coach Thomas. He’s the Best!

I’ve been a member of almost every gym in my area and this is without a doubt the best for the cost. If you have kids it also has daycare for them to enjoy while you’re getting it in. The only thing I wish it had was a sauna or steam room. Other than that it offers everything you need for your fitness journey.
