Recently separated Veteran appalled at the treatment I received from this facility, and I have used Planet Fitness all over the country with this being the worst by far. I PCS'd from this location back in 2020 and canceled the membership via phone like I have done many times before and no I did not always receive paperwork from the location. I had two memberships pulling from my account. One in my name and one in my mother's name in another state. The charges do not show indicating the location. Before I continue, this isn't a woe is me situation. I recognize I let some things slip through the cracks with my deployment schedule and operational tempo. Having recently discovered my mother has not used her membership in quite some time, I started digging to find out where this other membership charge was coming from that had been pulling from my account for years without being used. After contacting corporate they let me know I still had an active membership at this location. I think, no worries. Let me call and cancel it. They received 5 years of free membership payments without use. What's done is done. After calling I am greeted by Daniel who proceeds to tell me I have a negative balance on the account in excess of $100, (roughly a few months). I explain that I canceled the membership via phone years ago, and he proceeds to tell me that didn't happen. Essentially calling me a liar. I talk to Daniel to try to figure out a way forward and at least cancel the membership for the time being. He proceeds to tell me he can't cancel it with a negative balance. I explained that I deployed twice since canceling and moving, to which he tells me there is nothing he can do. I know this is a lie because I have canceled and had fees waived after the fact because I was deployed and, in that instance, Planet Fitness did send me a document which showed they can in fact waive fees for military. I explain this to him and suddenly he is aware this is an option but tells me he does not have the authority to take that action. I ask to speak to the manager to see if they have the authority to help me and Daniel tells me she will be in the following week and will return my call. They did return my call but when I answered I wasn't speaking to Gisele the manager (assuming this is the manager as it is the other name he gave for contact). Instead, I once again was speaking with Daniel who kept insisting nothing could be done without paying the balance unless I track down my deployment orders and send them to him. I know this to be false as, again, I have had multiple Planet Fitness memberships across the country and dealing with last minute moves, deployments, and training events which took me out of state for long periods of time, I have had to cancel membership via the phone and was told it was really easy to do and at the discretion of management on site. After getting nowhere, I reluctantly tell Daniel I will try to track down the orders but ask if he can freeze the account in the meantime to stop fees accruing. Once again, he tells me their hands are tied. Apparently, they are incapable of doing much. You would think that 5 years of free dues would be sufficient but the greed and apathy at this location really rubbed me the wrong way. I wasn't asking for a refund of 5 years even though I am certain I canceled my membership via phone. I remember doing it on the drive out of state. All I asked for was a cancelation and to waive the past 4 to 5 months of dues on an account that hasn't been used but has been paid for 5 years. Instead, I was met with lies, accusations, and a conversation where he overlooked solutions, and every other sentence was about paying the remaining balance because "their hands are tied". Truly one of the worst examples of customer service and business management that I have ever experienced. This level of apathy and greed speaks to where their concerns lie, and it is not with you the customer. Do yourselves a favor and find a gym with a good staff. A good staff makes a world of difference.

The young lady that had helped me was such a wonderful women. I believe her name was Giselle. Such a hard working, strong minded young lady. Now these are the type of people we need working in our gyms. I had the best experience at the Salinas planet fitness. And will continue going because it’s affordable, clean and comfortable experience overall!

I’ve had a fantastic experience at the gym, largely thanks to Erik. From the moment I walked in, he was welcoming and attentive, making sure I felt comfortable and informed about the facility. His positive attitude and dedication to helping members achieve their fitness goals truly stand out. If you’re looking for someone supportive, knowledgeable, and friendly Erik is the person to see. Highly recommend!

Prob the most unsanitary member wise. The members don't clean up or wipe the seats after themselves. I got jock itch several times here and jock itch is a fungal overgrowth and my fungal levels are lower than the average person so when I sit on a seat that some person hadn't wiped and I stupidly assumed it's clean. I got it, I even got strep and the cold from here. Wipe everything before use you will be saved especially from the members who mock you for getting jock itch when they just sweat all over the machines and let the fungal grow on it. Update if you outlift them, they'll also be more angry and whiny like a princess. Not to mention their little tamper tantrums.

Shout to Amalia! It’s nice to come in for a workout and be greeted by a friendly person. Not only does she make an effort to have the gym spotless but also she goes out of her way to help you with any questions you may have about the gym. Thank you Amalia!
