I was a member of LA Fitness for 22 years but had to find a new gym after my previous location permanently closed. I decided to visit a nearby 24 Hour Fitness and was impressed by the noticeable differences. The gym is well-maintained and clean, with clear signs and policies posted to encourage a safe and hygienic environment. The gym equipment is in excellent condition and operates smoothly. The pool is kept at the perfect temperature and is pristine, while the sauna is new and properly sanitized. I was particularly impressed by the Sales and Service Manager, Sergio, who was friendly, attentive to customer needs, and efficient without using any pushy sales tactics. Based on this positive experience, I decided to sign up for a membership at 24 Hour Fitness and have been very pleased with my decision.

The gym itself is great, but the staff falls short. There's a guy named Marco at the front desk who frequently makes me repeat my questions, only to pass me off to someone else. If he doesn’t know the answers, why not have the more knowledgeable staff member assist from the start? The person he refers me to is even worse—he can’t even look me in the eye and responds with an exhausted, bored tone like he’s over his job. He’s always rushing to get rid of customers and acts like he has better things to do. You would think he owns California with that attitude. Humble yourself if you're reading this! Once, I scanned in but stepped out right away for just 2 minutes to grab something I forgot. When I returned, Marco wouldn’t let me in without scanning my pass again. He said it was part of his job, but if he was doing his job properly, he would have noticed when I first entered instead of being on his phone. Another time, my cousin visited, and I got him a free 3-day pass. The email mentioned needing a photo ID, but didn’t specify that it had to be from an OC resident. As a result, my cousin was turned away. The staff is damaging the 24 Hour Fitness name. I like this gym because it's close to home, but I honestly consider going somewhere else because the staff ruins my mood every time I visit. If I could, I’d give them 0 stars.

There was a very pungent odor of mold in the steam room. Needs to be cleaned. I also came home to find a rash on my back legs where I sat for some time in the steam room. Not Good. I recommend a deep cleaning to this steam room to prevent illness or other complaints. You can also visibly see black water on the step. As soon as I realized it, I stayed standing. Other than this, the gym looked Cleaned but given the season were in, this should get taken care of immediately. Thanks 24

I’ve noticed that the staff here seems to be under a lot of pressure, which impacts their ability to provide a good customer experience. It feels like upper management’s demands are trickling down in a way that makes interactions awkward or uncomfortable. If someone from upper management is reading this, I think it would be beneficial to focus on training and supporting your staff better to ensure a positive environment for both employees and members. It’s important that the team feels equipped to do their jobs without unnecessary stress. Also, Sauna and pool unavailable for the whole month of October.
