I recently got a facial at the spa and I just have to share how incredible my experience was with Lilia. She is absolutely AMAZING! Lilia took the time to sit down with me and walk me through ways to enhance my skincare routine, explaining each product she used with such care and knowledge. She made sure I felt comfortable the entire time, and I could genuinely feel her passion for what she does. Her hands are truly magical! Thank you Lilia!!! :)

Cozy building gym. Clean, relatively well maintained though there isn’t much square footage. At least one of most gym equipment and validated parking. Usually don’t have a hard time getting the equipment I need even during peak hours. This is a gym for the business developer trying to network. Members are an overflow from the white bro culture from Newport.

The opening time is wrong on google maps, no one update it and it is misleading for a long time…actually it only opens m-t till 9pm, and weekend 5pm. I expect equinox to have better time, especially weekends. We are working people, we wish to have more flexibility working out during weekends. Also, some classes only offer at noon time, like cardio dance, those are twice a week, at least arrange one classes in the afternoon, so it can fit working members schedule…

Lack of varieties classes at good times- in early morning or evenings cardio dance, Pilates, barre, any hot yoga, hit classes weekdays. They charge too much for personal training and reformer Pilates. Other studios like club studio has reformer classes that comes with the regular membership. Classes are just cancelled without notice if only few people signed up. Which is not cool if I come from 10 miles away to attend these classes. Even 1-2 person signed up they should hold classes. Weekend classes get pretty crowded since mostly in mornings, they should add more classes in the afternoons and evenings also. They also should have more classes at 7 or 8 pm and open later hours like closing at 9 or 10. The equipments used in classes are not enough or just gross and old. They don’t clean those weights, sticks, belts, blocks, rings, balloons, etc …equipments. They said when I enrolled last summer that they are going to upgrade the locker rooms to digital locks around end of the year 2023. Now we still have to bring our own locks. I feel I’m paying too much monthly now it’s not worth it, and just switch to regular gym like 24 hrs paying $50 a month and I can even bring guests for classes all the time more than 3-5 times a year. Pros- they do keep locker rooms pretty clean, they staff are friendly and the coaches and class teachers are very friendly and good. Classes are good and fun.

My experience with this gym started off on a fantastic note. The equipment is spotless and everybody seems to have just a generally good vibe. The trainers are willing to put in as much effort as you are, and that is a really good driving force at least for someone like me. However, the issues started once I pre-purchased a 12 pack of training session with them. I had of course, given them my credit card to pay for the monthly fees so once I had my last session, I obviously stopped going to my trainer, who I had a very good back-and-forth with. I stopped going to my trainer and we had a understanding that our training sessions had stopped since it was all pre-purchased and that was on the dotted line and everything. A whole month passes and low and behold, they had been charging me each week for training sessions that I never agreed to pay for. What’s worse is that my trainer and I had had many conversations over that month and once I went to him directly to question these charges, all he had to say was talk to the billing department. I felt an immediate disconnect from the staff and immediately started feeling like a number. I discussed this with the general manager of my location as well as a couple people at their headquarters and you would not believe the amount of effort and time it took just to get my membership canceled. The “canceling a gym membership “is a nightmare, is absolutely true especially with this Jim. Next part is that it frankly got sad. A whole six months after this debacle I received a collection bill for an additional $500 from them saying that since I had turned off my credit card after having them cancel my membership, that they had continued to charge me and they put it on my credit. On my credit! After having discussed multiple times with multiple different people about getting this membership canceled. So it just goes to show that even though the face of a company is welcoming sadly there is always something in the back end that comes to bite you. I thought I read through all the paperwork they gave me pretty darn well and am convinced that they are charging me and other people in a… I won’t say illegal way, but frankly it kind of feels like that. so all in all I was only a member of this gym for about eight months and canceling the membership ended up costing me three times the amount. All in all… As long as you have the money to never cancel your membership then you are good, otherwise I would start with a 24 hour fitness.
