I am utterly disgusted with the state of the restroom at the 24 Hour Fitness location. The toilet stall I encountered was filthy and covered in human waste, as shown in the photos I’ve attached. It’s shocking that a facility meant to promote health and wellness could maintain such unsanitary conditions. What’s even more frustrating is that the janitor seemed to be actively avoiding this mess. It’s unacceptable for such a public space to be neglected like this, especially in a place where cleanliness should be a priority. Restrooms are a reflection of how much a business cares about its members, and this restroom screams neglect and disregard for basic hygiene. This situation needs to be addressed immediately—both the mess itself and the cleaning protocols (or lack thereof). I urge the management to take this matter seriously and ensure a clean, safe environment for all members moving forward.

I've been coming to this gym since it opened in 2006, and this past Wednesday I walked out for the last time. I can't take the filth, the amount of broken equipment and facilities equipment, and lack of caring anymore. Nothing that is said or written to 24 ever elicits an appropriate response. On the bright side, I have joined LA Fitness, where the facilities are clean, the equipment functional and working, and where it is truly hassle-free. The one on Century is closest to Hawthorne 24, and I highly recommend it for 24 members who are like me and can't stand it there any longer. Go check out LA Fitness for comparable rates, and much more conducive facilities toward becoming more physically and mentally sound through your workouts.

The gym has serious maintenance and cleanliness issues. There are eight treadmills that have been broken for a long time, which is especially frustrating during the busy January season. I come in at 5 a.m., and the weight racks are always disorganized because weights are left everywhere. While members should re-rack their weights, the closing staff should ensure the area is reset. On top of that, the gym is often dirty—spray bottles for cleaning are broken, napkin dispensers are empty, and the overall upkeep is poor. This lack of attention to basic standards makes it hard to enjoy the facility.

Good luck finding a matching pair of dumbbells, or rather a dumbbell at all since they are spread out all over the gym not put away. If you're OCD and like gym etiquette, this isn't the place for you. Zero weights put away on machines and barbells. Ez bar curls missing and nothing to wipe things down after/before use.

I visited the 24 Hour Fitness location on December 7, 2024, and needed to use the showers after my workout to get ready for an event. Unfortunately, the locker room and especially the showers were in an absolutely disgusting state. Despite having made several complaints in the past, the cleaning efforts seem minimal and inconsistent at best. On this particular day, the cleanliness was at an all-time low—it was so bad that I genuinely felt I would’ve been better off showering in the alley behind the building. It’s unacceptable for a gym of this caliber to neglect such basic hygiene standards. This location needs to step up its cleaning and maintenance efforts immediately. Members deserve a clean and safe environment!
