Fullerton YMCA is awesome 👏 My son has payed and been coached 🏀basketball since he was 8. Now 14 years old (2024) Both my daughter and son have both taken swim lessons multiple times 🏊♂️🏊♀️ Everyone is super friendly. And given all the movement and people I believe they handle all situations the best they can. 📸Pics are from over the years

When I was learning to swim by myself in the pool, the coach came up to me and said with a smile, you can practice here now, but in the summer when there is a swimming team you can't swim here like you do now. I asked him, can't I come the earliest in the morning? He smiled and said to me, yes, you can't. I think this is the worst conversation I have had today, and I think he only said it to me because I am an Asian girl. And he is white. (When I joined the YMCA, I had been browsing the website for half a month, so I knew exactly when free swimming would be open.) I like the front desk staff very much. Their enthusiasm made me decide to join the YMCA. But the swimming coach made me feel very uncomfortable.RACISM:)

Not been here for very long, but they have a lot of equipment here and classes. They also have an outdoor area, a pool, a studio, and a gym here. I mostly come here to work out anduse the equipment. I often try to get bigger muscles and get stronger.

The workout area (indoors) is modern enough, and the sports fields seem decent, but much of the pool area is unchanged from it's initial creation in the early 1960's, and the men's pool locker room really shows this. (Most of it's original men-only space went for women, so there's only 2 showers, 24 lockers, and 2 benches, and get this, 1 toilet & sink, no urinals! And it gets worse when someone uses the toilet stall to change or takes long.) It's not terribly warm in the water or air in the winter time, as they now have a lot of fans running in the roof. (Used to be air turbines.)

Sheri who works in the Kid Zone is so incredibly nice. She's always greeted us very warmly and is very personable. She remembers your name and makes your kids feel welcome. She makes Kid Zone a happier place.
