This is my personal experience and I can say a lot of other parent have a very different experience. My son attended this league for around 6 months maybe more. So I spend close to $1000 not including the uniforms. We attended all the practices twice a week. If my son wasn’t good enough for tournaments I wish I would’ve been informed upfront and not told to purchase a uniform less than a month within signing up. We attended a tournament and afterwards we were removed from the chat. We asked if there were any more tournaments and they said not for a few months. This didn’t bother us since my son is also in a soccer league and he had tournaments. Few months later we checked in and found out they had quiet a bit of tournaments. My son had just been forgotten. This is hard for me because my son will put in the effort as long as he knows what to improve on. I was given no feedback from the many coaches there at the practices. After they found out they forgot about my son they apologized and added us back onto the chat. Attended a tournament. The team he was on had 12 kids all are very good. I will say my son was the least skilled. They were leading all the teams by over 30+ points. They only allowed my son to play at max 5 mins. How is that developing your players? Even if they are your weakest players? After that tournament they posted another tournament and quickly removed us from the chat. This hurt my son. If at anytime I was given feedback about areas my son needed improvement on I would’ve taken my son to get supplemental practice on that area. My son is a soccer league and they tell us where he needs improvement and what he needs additional practices on. So I’ve had my son go to different conditioning camps. I guess they didn’t see potential in my son and thus they allowed him to fall through the cracks. We are now looking for another league as my son wants to continue to play the game.

DBA has helped my son become a better player ..he started the program in February and has came far from what he started at...he told me he truly has found a brother hood amongst his peers and likes each and every coach that has guided him ...I know everyone may have they own opinions but I have no complaints about coach docs program

My 10 year old son has been going since December and we have seen many gains, as well as, improved self-confidence. As a former D1 college athlete (soccer), we are thrilled to find a place like D1. Every coach has been exceptional and motivating. The workouts are organized and work different body parts with high intensity. I highly recommend D1. D1 pricing is outstanding for what you get!

My son loves training at D1. I have tried to train him myself while working out; but he enjoys working out with kids within his age limit, and competing with one another. We highly recommend training at this facility. The trainers are very motivating and we will continue to train here during off season or as needed for sure!

Started brining our teenager here to get him a good foundation in fitness before high school. The team at D1 has been super helpful in explaining the approach they rake to training with the different age groups, and the coaches have been utterly amazing in dealing with the kids and helping them do the exercises right and understand what the exercises are for. I see us remaining with the D1 family for quite a while.

Pretty cool place. First time there. They have an indoor soccer field and a separate ice hockey rink. They have a snack center and even sell beer. It looks like they rent ice skates and have lockers.

Amazing gym! Amazing coaches! I’m still very new to Muay Thai and have taken 2 classes here at Kingdom Martial Arts Academy so far and definitely plan to keep on going. They are very knowledgeable and coach me through each drill and session extremely well. They are very encouraging and it feels great to get this level of training and makes me want to continue to keep on learning and training here. Super thankful for the support and knowledge at this place. I highly recommend checking it out and taking a class. 10/10

Amazing experience here as a drop-in while in town. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Great skill progression in fundamentals class, and Charles was super patient with me while also giving the gift of feedback and guidance after every rep. I'm only a couple months into Muay Thai so this is super important. Can't wait to come back.

Had a private training session with Charles whilst passing through San Antonio on a US roadtrip. The first thing you notice about the place is how welcoming everybody is. Charles has a deep knowledge of Muay Thai and that shines through in his teaching. I had a highly personalised and fun session here and would 100% recommend people of all levels to come train here! 5 Stars!

I first learned of Charles from seeing his online instructionals on Instagram. From seeing how and what he taught online, made me believe he is a very good teacher. So good that I flew out from California to learn from him in person. I’ve been learning Muay Thai for over 15 years on and off, but never had a solid or good foundation of my basics. Basics such as footwork, distance and stance. Charles was able to help me improve on all of this and show me a few tricks of his own. Thank you very much Charles and the KMA team! I hope and look forward to returning sometime in the near future. Highly recommended!

They were absolutely awesome!!! From their hospitality, to their train and attitude they are truly a 10/10. If you're looking to become better at Muay Thai, or if you're just looking to work up a great sweat this is your place to go! I do truly feel that, not only did I learn more about Muay Thai, but I learned more about my self, The Kingdom is within!

Very rarely do I post low rating because I understand how hard places run to achieve good standards and ratings, but I can’t let it slide because it happens to many people: Very rude and unprofessional staff. They treat the badminton club members with such disrespect I haven’t seen elsewhere. I was treated by Maria - she will literally not allow you to get your sponsors so that you can get a guest pass. I asked her what if I don’t have their phone number, and she shook her head. Then she let me in. A few minutes later, she physically removed me from court while during the game to go back out and pay for guest pass while everyone else in the game was waiting and witnessing the entire mess. Had been playing badminton at many different places and this kind of rude behaviors is the first I’ve seen. Some supervisors will allow you with sponsored guest in, some will let others with gym membership at UT Health in, some will make a fuss like this. Very disorganized and quite traumatizing to say the least. And if you are a minute late for badminton schedule, they will take the net down even if you ask for one minute extension even when no one from the volleyball club is there. They won’t talk to you, they will keep the cold stare and do their stuff. Lack of consideration and communication skill at very minimum. Will not come back ever for this humiliating experience.

My experience with the rec is not very nice. Mostly because I have been charged $850 for a rented bike that was stolen from me and the fact that police confirmed the stealing did not help. The equipments are not insured but this is not mentioned. University takes zero responsibility even though a rec center membership fee is mandatorily included in our fees which makes no sense. The lap pool is always closed for some reason. Same pretty much goes for the leisure pool but it can’t be used for swimming anyway. They are officially closed for majority of months. But even when they are open during summer, one day it’s the renovation(which is claimed to be in progress during the cold season), next it’s the cleaning, the other day the PH is not adjusted and some days they are just closed without a reason. With the experience I have had, I do not think I am ever going anywhere around the rec anymore.

Needs work splitting the resistance (nautilus machines) and the frew weights / strength weights between such a distance in the gym is a bad idea in my mind as sometimes i want to hit kne muscle group on more than one machine and its limiting if i want to get my workout in , within a 2hr period when it takes 3/4 minutes to walk to different machines in different sectors of the gym depending on what muscle group youre hitting.

Usually small class size which is my preference personally. Very flexible and fair pricing, you just have to ask. Nobody is too rough or douchey when sparring. Coaches are willing to answer my dumb questions without getting upset. Cool people and fun to train with overall. On my very first day, I came in and roughed up this guy really good think he said his name was Patrick. Cool guy though.

My experience with Ronin MMA was amazing. The professor was friendly and welcomed me and my buddy with open arms. She took the time to teach us some new submissions and escapes. The members were also very polite and helped us with our stand-up. If you are ever in the area and looking for a positive and helpful BJJ gym I highly recommend Ronin MMA. They also specialize in Muaythai and MMA. I am looking forward to visiting soon.

My kids have been coming to Ronin for BJJ since summer of 2022. They have learned so much and grown as people and athletes. They are always excited for class night! The coaches are excellent and work with kids of all levels and different learning abilities. I can’t recommend this gym enough!

Unfortunately came in on my first day got changed and the toilet wouldn’t flush after going #2. Then waited 30 minutes into my hr class before I got any instruction after introducing myself and asking what I needed to wear to which the coach responded “I don’t know”. So, I just warmed up on my own to eventually do pad work with another guy that was his first day with literally 0 coaching instruction so I took my 2 months experience to coach him on the basics. I was very surprised people pay money to go there hopefully I just caught them in a bad day but I won’t be coming back. Best of luck!

Our family has been members of this gym for 2 years now. As soon as our daughter started her first jui jitsu class we were welcomed as family! The coaches are expertly trained. They are encouraging and challenging at the same time. The cost is very reasonable. My daughter feels so confident and powerful. We have seen that she can utilize the self defense strategies to protect herself and others. This gym is run by a knowledgeable, dedicated veteran who is an inspiration to all business owners!

We feel incredibly grateful to have discovered Legacy Martial Arts for our daughter. Both Mr. Ramirez and Mr. Bo excel in creating a class environment that is not only enjoyable and secure but also imparts lifelong skills to both children and adults. Our daughter has been actively participating for over a year, and we've witnessed a remarkable boost in her confidence and discipline, receiving positive feedback from her regular school teachers. It's truly heartening to witness the children having a fantastic time while learning self-defense, overcoming challenges, and engaging in a fulfilling workout. Having personally joined the adult classes, I can attest to the inclusivity, and Mr. Ramirez and Mr. Bo readily provides modifications for those who may struggle, ensuring a fulfilling workout experience. Without hesitation, we wholeheartedly recommend Legacy Martial Arts for anyone seeking classes for their kids or themselves. The supportive atmosphere and empowering teachings make it an invaluable choice. As Mr. Ramirez wisely puts it, "You can cry, just don't give up."

My son loves this place. He has been coming to classes for almost 4 years now and has learned so much from both Mr Ramirez and Mr Bo. They are professional and care about their students. My son learned to set goals for himself at this dojo and now applies that to his studies and other pursuits. I highly recommend!

The classes help my kids with their everyday life. They are much more confident since they started this class. I have twins and my son has been working with Mr. Ramirez for over 6 years. The instructor has over 20 plus years experience in teaching. I mainly put my son in this program for self confidence. He also has tight muscles and the exercise and stretches help him with that. My daughter is very shy and it took her a little more time to participate. She would sit through classes for about a month until she opened to the idea. The instructors and the other children brought her out of her shell, no other place could have done that for her. They reach out to the kids and offer help. A fantastic family environment and all the kids support and encourage each other.

What can I say that hasn't been said? Very nice and friendly instructor. My boys love coming here. Everyone who attends loves it. Fair pricing. Can't say enough great things about this place. If you're reading this cause you're considering attending, look no further. You or your kids will not be disappointed.

I took a self defense class here with Mr. Ramirez and it was a great experience! Our group of women ranged from 20s-60s with varied fitness and athletic ability. Mr. Ramirez was able to make it a valuable experience for us all. Not only could I tell he really cared about us learning for our own safety, but he made it fun. We practiced maneuvers as well as did work outs that mimicked fighting scenarios. He gave us exercises to do that would help us continue to get stronger and work out the muscles we’d need for various potential self defense instances.
