Great Olympic sized competition pool ( open hours are scarce but pretty clean ), good recreation pool. Locker rooms are pretty decent and clean. Gym is average, some weights and equipment seem to be getting old and rusty . If you have a membership, Id recommend the RAC, they have newer equipment and weights). Overall good.

I am taking away one star because of the negative and very disrespectful attitude of the young Asian women who is at the front desk some mornings during the fall 2024 semester. The girl is outright RUDE. How this condescending behavior is tolerated is bewildering considering she is a front desk person. She is a very big contrast from all the other employees. They are all very nice. The facility is always clean. The showers do not get warm at all but aside from that and this nasty girl everything else is great and I love working out here every morning. It does get VERY crowed with teams and students constantly coming to work out. Usually people are considerate and share the equipment or don’t stay on it for long periods with the exception of an inconsiderate person here and there. All in all I highly recommend this facility and GMU as a whole. This girl needs to be retrained or replaced! Update: she told me that I could not bring a foldable electric scooter inside. Keep in mind people walk around campus all the time with them. It is smaller and slimmer and lighter than my gym bag. I asked why? She said it is just policy and it is not up to her and that I can’t bring it in. I actually read the policy before going that morning. There is NOTHING mentioned about electric scooters being banned. Only food, drink, attire and behaviour are mentioned. I pulled it out on my phone and asked her to show me where it says that a rechargeable electric device is not allowed? She then tells me I can go in this time, as if she were doing me a favor and says she won’t let me in with it the next time. I thanked her and asked her name. My intention was to diffuse tension between her and I. She tells me her name and says “I read your review and you are the one who was rude. You had your bag in the way and people were trying to check in”. I had my bag next to me on my left side. The people had ample room to check in as there are two check in stations. Anyway I told her I disagreed that I was rude and that I thought her and I should limit our interactions. She is a confrontational person and I am not. Updating this because google asked me to after I put it into my GPS and taking a second star away! A person also asked for further information about my experience and I asked she be educated instead of dismissed or punished. She is better served correcting her behaviour than just losing a job!

Great modern facilities with three pools and accompanying services. the campus is gorgeous with plenty of green spaces hikes and trees. There are even very nice small streams but Also plenty of parking space for large events. There is a good and fairly priced cafeteria. The only thing is that it is a good 40 minutes away from the city which makes it a bit of a commute but also very quiet and Serene.

A very popular place for workouts and water sports at Gorge Mason - the facility is extremely well maintained. The staff and lifeguards are dedicated and friendly.

This gym is very nice very helpful staff. They have two stories and there is a very large selection of equipment. This gym is amazing because of the staff that is very helpful. I go here multiple times a week. Very great and clean gym. Defiantly recommend!!!

The hockey mannequin was cool. I just wish there were more concessions to be offered at George Mason volleyball matches than the vending machine.

Great gym, they have everything you need to lift weights and play pickup games with friends. They also have heavy bags for boxing upstairs, and a dedicated yoga room that you can use when class is not in session. The large 'martial arts' room is great to do bodyweight workouts in or practice dancing. I see a lot of kids in dance groups using the wall-length mirrors to practice.

Not bad for a college gym. Equipment is usually pretty clean and in pretty good condition. They have a good selection of weight machines, and several squat racks. If it’s really busy you’ll probably have to wait to use a specific machine/rack, especially if you’re trying to be consistent about the order you do your exercises in. On the other hand, if you don’t mind changing up the order of your exercises somewhat, you can often go for whichever equipment is free at the moment and mostly if not entirely skip the waiting. The second floor has a decent selection of cardio machines, and I’ve never seen all of them in use at once, even during busy hours. There’s also a smaller rack of dumbbells and a few barbells on the second floor, which I often go for if the main weights section is crowded since fewer people seem to want to use that. However, I do have one major complaint: WHY ON EARTH do they have a system where you’re supposed to wipe down the equipment with the same reused towel that everyone else has been using to wipe down their equipment?! That seems extremely ineffective for reducing germs, and possibly downright counterproductive! Other gyms I’ve been to have actual disinfecting wipes, or at least a roll of paper towels and a disinfectant spray bottle. Using the same standard fabric towels all day in place of paper towels in an effort to not be wasteful or something doesn’t make sense and seems like a really bad idea if the goal is preventing the spread of germs.

This facility had NO seating, bleachers weren’t out and they didn’t allow outside chairs, NOR provide any chairs for the elderly. There was no air conditioning and when players were injured, there was no one around to help with getting injured players ice or to even evaluate them. We came for AAU tournaments, and have traveled to many different places, this by far was the worst place out of all as far as accommodations!

Fencing Sports Academy is a fantastic fencing club. The coaches are great and extremely knowledgeable. Ms. Connie is great as well and keeps the club running smoothly and is very responsive. Our son needed a competitive club along with coaching in regional and national events and FSA was great. Our son will now be fencing in college at a DIV III school.

This is hands down the best club in the DMV. I’ve been to other clubs with my kids, but nowhere else have I met so many Olympian coaches with tremendous training acumen in one spot. An incredible club owner. Gourgeous facilities. What more could we ask for??? Ever since we entered my kids have not wanted to go anywhere else! Not to mention winning in multiple regional and national competitions. Sky’s the limit! When you’ve tried the rest, now try the best!

My 5 year old attended the camp here last summer (first time "fencer") and I was so so impressed! It's not easy to wrangle the younger set, particularly with a sport that requires attention and agility. The coaches were phenomenal at making drills fun, meeting each student at their level, and teaching them foundational skills. He really had a blast and planning on signing him up again. This was an in-person class during COVID and we felt that it was safe, well-organized and well executed.

This fencing school doesn't offer the most basic fencing opportunities provided by every fencing school I have ever been to. This is the closest school to me, so I am very disappointed that I have no choice but to go somewhere else. In response: No, I expected your school to provide the same services that the dozens of other schools that I have attended and competed at provided. I am very happy for you, that some of your competitive fencers have been successful. I was a successful competitive fencer as well. However, I am no longer a competitive fencer but would still like the opportunity to participate in the sport that I love. I am disappointed that you have so little respect for the sport of fencing that in your eyes it's only purpose is to win competitions. I for one, actually enjoy fencing as it's own reward. It speaks volumes about your academy that you don't understand this. I feel bad for your students that once they decide they no longer wish to fence competitively that they will no longer have a place in your school to fence for fencing's sake.

Great place to start a new hobby or sports career. I was impressed with the coaches attitude and im glad i took more than one class, the fun and energy is even better each time you go. I made some friends too from my age and im pretty happy overall. The bathrooms were clean and you can notice they take good care of the building.
