The hockey mannequin was cool. I just wish there were more concessions to be offered at George Mason volleyball matches than the vending machine.

Great gym, they have everything you need to lift weights and play pickup games with friends. They also have heavy bags for boxing upstairs, and a dedicated yoga room that you can use when class is not in session. The large 'martial arts' room is great to do bodyweight workouts in or practice dancing. I see a lot of kids in dance groups using the wall-length mirrors to practice.

Not bad for a college gym. Equipment is usually pretty clean and in pretty good condition. They have a good selection of weight machines, and several squat racks. If it’s really busy you’ll probably have to wait to use a specific machine/rack, especially if you’re trying to be consistent about the order you do your exercises in. On the other hand, if you don’t mind changing up the order of your exercises somewhat, you can often go for whichever equipment is free at the moment and mostly if not entirely skip the waiting. The second floor has a decent selection of cardio machines, and I’ve never seen all of them in use at once, even during busy hours. There’s also a smaller rack of dumbbells and a few barbells on the second floor, which I often go for if the main weights section is crowded since fewer people seem to want to use that. However, I do have one major complaint: WHY ON EARTH do they have a system where you’re supposed to wipe down the equipment with the same reused towel that everyone else has been using to wipe down their equipment?! That seems extremely ineffective for reducing germs, and possibly downright counterproductive! Other gyms I’ve been to have actual disinfecting wipes, or at least a roll of paper towels and a disinfectant spray bottle. Using the same standard fabric towels all day in place of paper towels in an effort to not be wasteful or something doesn’t make sense and seems like a really bad idea if the goal is preventing the spread of germs.

This facility had NO seating, bleachers weren’t out and they didn’t allow outside chairs, NOR provide any chairs for the elderly. There was no air conditioning and when players were injured, there was no one around to help with getting injured players ice or to even evaluate them. We came for AAU tournaments, and have traveled to many different places, this by far was the worst place out of all as far as accommodations!
