I highly recommend starting off with trying every class. This being my first first experience with martial arts, has to be the most exciting and challenging adventure thanks to the Yamasaki staff. I was able to learn and condition at a high level from day one. The couching staff worked to provide a safe and clean environment for training. Which ultimately resulted in major physical improvements. I am in the best shape of my adult life right now thanks to yamasaki. Please note: first week will hurt!

My teenage son has been going here for a couple years now doing Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and loves it. All the coaches are experts and know how to work with each person to help identify strengths and weaknesses but also encouraging you to your full potential. They offer training in multiple disciplines so you have a lot of options in whatever interests you. The environment is competitive but family friendly. Doesn’t hurt to stop by and check it out, Coach Joe and his team are really passionate about the sport and are eager to answer any questions you have.

This gym is family to me. The owner Joe Cunningham creates that kind of atmosphere. Myself, my wife, and our children all train here. You will not find a better kids BJJ, Judo, and Muay Thia program in Northern Virginia. All of the coaches under Coach Joe are very knowledgeable in their craft.

The training here is great with, in my opinion, the best instructors in the area. In addition to that, they really drew me in to continue training there with how friendly & genuine these guys really are. I feel this way, and I only switched to their gym a couple months ago. They really make you feel as though, if you kept coming, you could definitely build some solid friendships. They truly have their students' interests at heart, which is hard to find in a lot of other gyms. I completely recommend it.

The basic handgun firearms training was great! Our class of ten individuals had a half dozen different instructors sharing their expertise on a variety of important topics for those looking to carry a firearm concealed in Virginia. The instructors were very knowledgeable and many had previous law enforcement and military experience. Our class was led by Kenton Givens who was exceptional. We also had the owner (Joe) on hand. The class was provided a training book and had time for hands on training as well. Thanks, Kenton, Joe, and team!

We’re so glad we found Trident Martial Arts in Woodbridge Va. Our son is part of their Muay Thai kids class and will be joining the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu youth class next year. The instructors are patient and very well trained. Our son had attended a couple others in the area but he didn’t like them near as much. My wife and I highly recommend to anyone considering martial arts training for their child.

Have been training her for almost 3 years, don't krmamaga, mui thai, jiujitsu, and kickboxing. Great place with good instructors. Great attitude. Reasonably priced. A lot of military and LE folks. The owner is a well-known former Navy Seal. Try it

Great gym for adults and children. Many hands on instructors for all ages classes. Very patient and understanding when the younger kids struggle at learning new things and a new environment. All of their programs are great but our family stuck with BJJ and Muay Thai for now.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience with Trident. The facility provides a wide array of self-defense disciplines and is supported by knowledgeable and friendly staff. My daughters 12-14 enjoyed participating in the women's BJJ course.

I've been going to Trident Academy now for 7 months and I still find it as engaging as the first day I stepped in there. The instructors are all very knowledgeable and friendly while the facility is very clean. I'm involved in the Filipino Martial Arts and the curriculum is vast but I promise the material will come together. The instructors provide the students with many ways to do things, ultimately it's on the students to take what works for them and polish those concepts. I like this philosophy since it's what I do in my personal life.
