I was in Hawaii for 10 days and decided to purchase a week pass. Perfect gym with great equipment and friendly staff. Even though it is small, it was never busy when I went and sometimes it was just me there lol.

Info on their website is hard to come by but other than that it was a good experience. The gym is up on the third floor and offers day passes for $25 and weekly passes for $75. Comes with lots of amenities such as free locker access, showers, shaving utensils and other toiletries. Gym is well equipped though I would’ve appreciated a place to do tricep dips. Has lots of lighting thanks to large windows overlooking the downstairs fish tank which offers a behind the scenes view of the maintenance area. I will be going back.

Joseph the tennis instructor is AMAZING. The fact that his lessons are included in the gym membership was the driving reason my boyfriend and I decided to spring for the membership. Even though $175 for a month is steep, it’s so worth it to us to have access to not only the gym, but also lessons from Joseph. He’s so nice and a great coach. He notices the details and fine tunes your technique. Additionally Mindy at the gym front desk is always SO sweet. The gym is small but has everything I need. It also has a unique view of the top of an aquarium and you get to watch people go in to take care of the fish. Overall - I’d totally recommend this gym but ESPECIALLY Joseph and his tennis lessons!

Fit Waikiki is the obvious heir apparent to the old Honolulu Club. It is a high end fitness club with top quality gym equipment. In addition to having plenty of cardio machines, free weights and cable machines, it gives you access to the Alohilani Hotel's infinity pool, tennis courts and lots of other perks. There is also a spacious empty room with an enormous TV equiped with a huge variety of cardio workouts. This gym can satisfy the typical meathead who wants a heavy weight resistance workout, or the businessman who wants a casual workout followed by a swim in the pool or a game of tennis. If it had a steam room and/or sauna, it would be perfect. Perhaps they'll add it!

Staff always welcomes us. They are always cleaning the high traffic areas. The machines are easy to use. The people that use this gym are all ages and respectful to each others routines. I try to come 2 days a week with a friend and it’s never too busy to get on the treadmill or stair master. It’s super convenient and has lots of parking.

Staff is always friendly, and facilities are super clean. Machines are always in good condition and if something is out of order they seem to be handled quickly. I only wish the whole facility was bigger, with more space to spread out and do functional training. But it's still my preferred gym over others in the area.

I joined because we were here on holidays for a month. The staff were accommodating and knowledgeable which made the daunting task smooth and seamless. The array of equipment and facilities really blew me away compared to where I live. Everything was super clean and everyone was super friendly and I really enjoyed my time.

A lot of great things at Planet Fitness and a lot of them revolve around the app. You just bring up you upc code to check in. The massage chairs and beds are a huge plus for someone with a sore back. Really helps you loosen up especially for older members that takes a bit more effort. The machines are set up nicely and the hours you can’t beat open 24 hours 5 days of the week. The one thing I don’t like at this location at Ala Moana is almost every machine you go to people get on a machine and stay there for 20 minutes and this seems to be acceptable to the staff . They will do a set and then just sit there. 90% of the time they are resting and recovering to do their next set. There are not enough machines if you’re going to allow members to spend 80% of their use of a station to rest as well as do their workout. There should be signs that say “Do your set then get up until you are ready to use it again for your next set. Let someone else get a set in. At the very least alternate with one other person. This is no lie….you could have 3 other people do a set by the time the person rests their muscles to do their next set. The good thing is the app gives you an idea of how busy the gym is before you decide to go. If it’s 3 bars or more which is nothing expect to wait a ridiculous amount of time because at least 3 out of 4 people on a machine are resting. Why this behavior is allowed is beyond me. I’ve had many different gym memberships and this particular gym is the number one worst one as far as selfish people and wasted time for utilizing the equipment. That being said you can still probably make it work if you are willing to come when app says bars of 2 or less. If you do get up to let someone do a set they believe they then own the station which probably accounts for why this feeds on itself. Put up a sign “No resting on a machine for more than a minute”. That alone would triple the utilization. Some stations such as bench press are almost impossible to get a set in if there are 4 bars or more showing on the app

The gym is fine, but the customer service is horrendous. I signed up on Nov 16, 2024. Because I was staying in Honolulu for only 30 days, I've explicitly asked the employee who signed me up when I should cancel my membership to not be charged for the second month. She said to cancel in person before I leave, by Dec 16. When I came to cancel on Dec 15, another employee informed me that I'd be charged for the second month because the billing day was on Dec 10. This is not what I was told when signing up, and if I knew I would've cancelled before Dec 10. I've been calling PF numerous times to ask for a refund because of the misleading information I was given and the fact that I left Honolulu and didn't use the gym after the first month. The manager keeps saying that she needs to talk to her director and will call me tomorrow (she never did). Finally, she gave me a phone number to the director (which always goes to voicemail). It's been a month and nobody cares to fix this situation. Utterly disappointing because I enjoyed my PF experience otherwise but this lack of honesty and respect for customers is the reason to not return ever again.

We had a very positive experience with our swim lessons at the Y, and I am grateful for the time and effort the teachers gave our family. The teachers were very clear and patient and made learning new techniques much easier. It was great to receive tips tailored to my son’s specific needs and skill level. Each lesson had a clear structure and goal, and we had so much fun!

The YMCA and Miss Cindy are amazing! This is our son's first experience in the pool at 6 months and Miss Cindy is so great with him. He is super comfortable in the water and it has been wonderful to learn how to properly introduce him to the water and what specific activities to focus on. We've already signed up for the next session!

So community oriented and welcoming! I love the convenient location, variety of classes and well-maintained and clean gym and pool facilities. Instructors are excellent and staff are so friendly and caring always! I regularly attend yoga with Ayako in person usually but also via Zoom when I can’t come in person. This engagement is important and positive for me, in nurturing my physical, mental and emotional health and well being. I love connecting regularly with my yoga friends! We do the parent-tot swim classes for 6 months - 3 year olds. Our son is 17 months and absolutely loves it. The swim instructors are very kind and helpful with technique, especially since the ages are all spread out they are very good and tailoring the task at hand to your child's age and skill level which is something you don't get at a lot of other places.

I’ve been involved with fitness clubs for 30+ years and feel Flexx Fitness is one of my favorite gyms. All the members and staff are so friendly and there are NO attitudes at this gym. It’s always clean and broken machines get fixed within a day or two. The owners Debbie and Chris keep everyone happy!

I was in Honolulu for a week on vacation. I was looking for a locally owned gym to lift, because I don’t really like the bigger commercial gyms. This place was great. The two owners are really nice and everyone that goes there seems respectful. They have all the gym equipment you could need if you’re a lifter as well as some cardio equipment.

Flexx Fitness is absolutely the best gym in Honolulu! Chris and Debbie Faildo are super trainers and genuinely nice people. The atmosphere at the gym is friendly and supportive. They have great equipment that makes training fun. From the experienced body builder to the average person who wants better health, encouragement and care are the norm. I highly recommend Flexx Fitness!

Just wish it was better organized. There is a cardio room, but cycling, rowing, stair, and other cardio machines are also on the basketball court. 3 weight rooms all have randomly placed weight equipment, and the stretching machines are upstairs from the weight room, but there are also some stretching machines and floor mats on the basketball court. Maybe a diagram in the lobby would help. Staff has always been really nice and helpful, and I appreciate the long hours and after-hours access.

Not sure what kind of culture you are trying to cultivate here. I’ve lived here for 2 years now and have frequented this gym as well as tripler and AMR on an every day basis. The experience at all of the gyms have been very pleasant and I am nothing but friendly and respectful of the others around me. For some reason Mike decided that one of the outfits I wear wasn’t allowed in the gym. No big deal I’ll just work out at other gyms that don’t mind what I wear and don’t really bother me unless it’s a friendly conversation. Mike lost his mind after I calmly and relative low volume replied “cool I’ll just keep working out at AMR” he then decided to rudely and loudly start insulting me at the front desk. Making disparaging comments about my looks, making disparaging comments about my character and saying he is a better person than me, and finishing it off with making implications that I was not educated enough to be able to read. This is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable behavior from an employee in an establishment meant to help people. The only resolution for this type of situation is termination of employment. If he is going to openly treat and talk to me in the manner he did how many others has this employee treated so poorly?

Military only gym. Staff is nice, facility is clean, ID is required, decent amount of equipment to include machine, free weights, kettlebells, yoga stuff, bikes and more. There are bathrooms and changing rooms. Lastly, there is a full court gym that is well maintained. Hours are posted but be warned that if there is a holiday hours change.

Best military gym currently. Doesn't have the strict guidelines like Pearl and Hickam. Additionally, you can register for 24 hour access. The basketball court has been converted to a machine weight room and their old racquetball court is now a bench / row room. Clean and organized.

Cost is awesome - free. Gym is a bit small, equipment a little old, and machines are packed pretty tight. Not usually too busy, so you can usually get in a good cardio and strength workout in a reasonable amount of time. Sometimes people camp on one machine though, and you just have to do something else.

Parking is terrible, often full in the morning. I signed up because they had child watch. this particular location just has the tv on during child watch while the caregiver uses her laptop and doesn’t seem to interact with my child. everybody that works there was very polite and friendly. Its just that I can work out at home for free while my kids is glued to the TV there. Also, I always have a parking spot at home.
