Staff always welcomes us. They are always cleaning the high traffic areas. The machines are easy to use. The people that use this gym are all ages and respectful to each others routines. I try to come 2 days a week with a friend and it’s never too busy to get on the treadmill or stair master. It’s super convenient and has lots of parking.

Staff is always friendly, and facilities are super clean. Machines are always in good condition and if something is out of order they seem to be handled quickly. I only wish the whole facility was bigger, with more space to spread out and do functional training. But it's still my preferred gym over others in the area.

I joined because we were here on holidays for a month. The staff were accommodating and knowledgeable which made the daunting task smooth and seamless. The array of equipment and facilities really blew me away compared to where I live. Everything was super clean and everyone was super friendly and I really enjoyed my time.

A lot of great things at Planet Fitness and a lot of them revolve around the app. You just bring up you upc code to check in. The massage chairs and beds are a huge plus for someone with a sore back. Really helps you loosen up especially for older members that takes a bit more effort. The machines are set up nicely and the hours you can’t beat open 24 hours 5 days of the week. The one thing I don’t like at this location at Ala Moana is almost every machine you go to people get on a machine and stay there for 20 minutes and this seems to be acceptable to the staff . They will do a set and then just sit there. 90% of the time they are resting and recovering to do their next set. There are not enough machines if you’re going to allow members to spend 80% of their use of a station to rest as well as do their workout. There should be signs that say “Do your set then get up until you are ready to use it again for your next set. Let someone else get a set in. At the very least alternate with one other person. This is no lie….you could have 3 other people do a set by the time the person rests their muscles to do their next set. The good thing is the app gives you an idea of how busy the gym is before you decide to go. If it’s 3 bars or more which is nothing expect to wait a ridiculous amount of time because at least 3 out of 4 people on a machine are resting. Why this behavior is allowed is beyond me. I’ve had many different gym memberships and this particular gym is the number one worst one as far as selfish people and wasted time for utilizing the equipment. That being said you can still probably make it work if you are willing to come when app says bars of 2 or less. If you do get up to let someone do a set they believe they then own the station which probably accounts for why this feeds on itself. Put up a sign “No resting on a machine for more than a minute”. That alone would triple the utilization. Some stations such as bench press are almost impossible to get a set in if there are 4 bars or more showing on the app

The gym is fine, but the customer service is horrendous. I signed up on Nov 16, 2024. Because I was staying in Honolulu for only 30 days, I've explicitly asked the employee who signed me up when I should cancel my membership to not be charged for the second month. She said to cancel in person before I leave, by Dec 16. When I came to cancel on Dec 15, another employee informed me that I'd be charged for the second month because the billing day was on Dec 10. This is not what I was told when signing up, and if I knew I would've cancelled before Dec 10. I've been calling PF numerous times to ask for a refund because of the misleading information I was given and the fact that I left Honolulu and didn't use the gym after the first month. The manager keeps saying that she needs to talk to her director and will call me tomorrow (she never did). Finally, she gave me a phone number to the director (which always goes to voicemail). It's been a month and nobody cares to fix this situation. Utterly disappointing because I enjoyed my PF experience otherwise but this lack of honesty and respect for customers is the reason to not return ever again.

Crossfit808 has been my home away from home for 12+ years now. CrossFit 808 is an exceptional fitness community that truly stands out for its welcoming atmosphere and dedicated coaching staff. From the moment you step inside, you can feel the positive energy that radiates from both the coaches and the members. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, always ready to help you improve your form and push your limits. They take the time to ensure that everyone, regardless of their fitness level, feels included and motivated. The community at CrossFit 808 is like a family. Members cheer each other on during workouts, creating a strong support system that makes every session enjoyable and inspiring. It’s refreshing to be part of a group where everyone genuinely cares about each other’s progress and well-being. The facility itself is well-maintained. You can tell that the owner takes pride in providing a clean and safe environment for their members. The variety of classes offered ensures that there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned athlete. Overall, CrossFit 808 is more than just a gym; it’s a community that fosters growth, connection, and a healthy lifestyle. If you’re looking for a place to get fit while being surrounded by supportive people, I can’t recommend CrossFit 808 highly enough!

Crossfit 808 has been our home for the past almost four years. We love this box and have made lifelong friendships here. This box has the best coaches, members, programming, space, and parking. We are a community and welcome new members and drop-ins. This place has also been the biggest support system for me as a new mom. I was lucky enough to experience pregnancy and now motherhood with three other mamas. Now our babies enjoy the box just as much as we do. The best box and community ever.

I visited CrossFit 808 when I was on the island for a week long business trip. I was initially going to drop in for just a day and check out some other spots, but I ended up coming back here every day. It's the type of box I would easily see myself joining if I was local. I've done countless drops-ins in multiple countries and you can generally tell quickly how things will go. The staff was beyond friendly, knowledgeable, and the type of vibe you want. Kate welcoming me back at the desk was the familiar face I saw everyday by the end of the week. (She even took a bunch of photos for me with no complaints when I saw they had kettlebells shaped like grenades.) I dug the facilities, they had all of the equipment I needed, and the giant parking lot wasn't just good for parking but extra space for running during the WOD. They had a CrossFit kids class every evening and it was great watching the coaches work directly with young kids, and you could tell they all loved it. I've recommended it to everyone I know who's gone to HI. You'll be glad you checked it out!

I was stationed in Hawaii from 2017-2020 and stumbled across Crossfit 808. This gym made me fall in love with crossfit! This gym, the people, and the staff really made you feel like family. Even now that I have PCS'd, the coaches still check in with me and always ask when im coming to visit. This gym is well maintained with the BEST equipment, the owner, Elyse, really takes pride in ensuring her gym is in the best shape. Every coach is very knowledgable and caters to everyone's fitness level. No matter what class time you attend, you will get the best coaching possible. I loved this gym and always do a drop-in when I visit. I cannot recommend crossfit 808 enough!!

CrossFit 808 became more than just a gym; it was my sanctuary. The community cheered me on, and the workouts gave me a much-needed outlet to reset and recharge. Thanks to Elyse and her incredible team, I’m not just in shape—I’m stronger, healthier, and more confident than ever to twins and being in my 50s, my gratitude always.

Just wish it was better organized. There is a cardio room, but cycling, rowing, stair, and other cardio machines are also on the basketball court. 3 weight rooms all have randomly placed weight equipment, and the stretching machines are upstairs from the weight room, but there are also some stretching machines and floor mats on the basketball court. Maybe a diagram in the lobby would help. Staff has always been really nice and helpful, and I appreciate the long hours and after-hours access.

Not sure what kind of culture you are trying to cultivate here. I’ve lived here for 2 years now and have frequented this gym as well as tripler and AMR on an every day basis. The experience at all of the gyms have been very pleasant and I am nothing but friendly and respectful of the others around me. For some reason Mike decided that one of the outfits I wear wasn’t allowed in the gym. No big deal I’ll just work out at other gyms that don’t mind what I wear and don’t really bother me unless it’s a friendly conversation. Mike lost his mind after I calmly and relative low volume replied “cool I’ll just keep working out at AMR” he then decided to rudely and loudly start insulting me at the front desk. Making disparaging comments about my looks, making disparaging comments about my character and saying he is a better person than me, and finishing it off with making implications that I was not educated enough to be able to read. This is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable behavior from an employee in an establishment meant to help people. The only resolution for this type of situation is termination of employment. If he is going to openly treat and talk to me in the manner he did how many others has this employee treated so poorly?

Military only gym. Staff is nice, facility is clean, ID is required, decent amount of equipment to include machine, free weights, kettlebells, yoga stuff, bikes and more. There are bathrooms and changing rooms. Lastly, there is a full court gym that is well maintained. Hours are posted but be warned that if there is a holiday hours change.

Best military gym currently. Doesn't have the strict guidelines like Pearl and Hickam. Additionally, you can register for 24 hour access. The basketball court has been converted to a machine weight room and their old racquetball court is now a bench / row room. Clean and organized.

Cost is awesome - free. Gym is a bit small, equipment a little old, and machines are packed pretty tight. Not usually too busy, so you can usually get in a good cardio and strength workout in a reasonable amount of time. Sometimes people camp on one machine though, and you just have to do something else.

My son does the group training. He said the drills are fun and tough which he likes. As a former player and current coach they offer a good variety of training for different levels.

*Thought I’d leave my review since other reviews failed to mentioned. Full court games of 4VS4. Pricey league, additional cost for a jersey, and coaching is available at additional cost. Be prepared when attending games at this site by bringing your own seating(for spectators and players at the sideline), a portable fan, snacks and water and most importantly dress for the hot temperature. Also the smell from the feral cat urine and poop is a nuisance if it hasn’t rained recently. To find the court you have to park at the church parking, enter through the daycare gate and walk up the 5 flights of stairs but be careful of the wooden part it feels as if it could break. There is an ice maker and water fountain and cubbies, they also have a fridge of drinks for sale.

Awesome place to develop. Friendly coaches who care.

Lots of classes and skills training for all basketball players. We do these classes when my son doesn't have basketball practice. Highly recommend this place if your children is learning or even an experienced player.

Our 7yr old son loves Uptempo! We’re huge basketball fans, my husband used to coach high school basketball at Maryknoll, and have attended trainings both here on Oahu and in California. Uptempo really focuses on the right fundamentals for young athletes and even better, our son LOVES Coach Aires and Coach Jordan. Would highly recommend this place! Whether you’re looking to introduce your child to the game, or help build upon their current skill set, Segundo and his team have a great facility/tools to provide children with engaging and challenging workouts.

Been attending since June. First time in over a decade I’ve felt functionally fit. That’s a result of the superb coaching. The environment is energetic, motivating, and friendly. True community here. Exercises are scaled to your needs, especially if you’re just starting out. Highly recommend!!!

In today’s afternoon MoFit class, I appreciate Coach Carlin made the effort to stop by and observe and critique the form of each athlete even though the class was close to full capacity (he helped me with my clean+jerk stance). He also made class adjustments to stay on time. He was very supportive during the workout rooting everyone on. He is always engaged as a coach and cares about his athlete’s performance and health.

The best drop in experience ever. Coach Paul is fantastic at teaching mechanics and is approachable. Atmosphere is friendly and not too serious. T shirt designs are cool. Must visit

Picture perfect gym/box. I appreciate the fair payment structure since I’m only visiting here for the week. Plenty of space to do a good workout. Has all the amenities like chalk, dip horns, plates in good condition, etc friendly staff as well! Looking forward to my next workout here!

I dropped by this cool mostly-outdoor space to squeeze in a workout while traveling (sticking to the program as much as possible!) and I’d visit again. They have all the equipment you’d expect of a CrossFit facility even if you’re not doing their WOD or CrossFit, which works well for anyone looking for barbells and open space. Their open gym hours overlap during their class times so it was cool to see what the class was doing (the CrossFit open workout that had just been streamed). Coach was welcoming and showed me where to find all the stuff. Masks weren’t required because the space was mostly open air (with a part roof/covering), though some people wore them. As far as parking it looks like some class members parked on the street nearby, though I took rideshare.
