I recently visited The Gravity Vault in Hoboken, and it was an awesome experience! My belay was super helpful and kept encouraging me to push myself and try more climbs. The staff were all really friendly, and the prices were pretty reasonable too. The whole place was clean and well-maintained, which made the experience even better. I had a lot of fun and definitely want to go back to try more challenging climbs—and maybe even work toward becoming a certified rock climber!

A great place to do some rock climbing before trying it on a actual mountain. Never been to such a place and the experience was amazing. The staff is very hospitable and they are generous enough to offer us Rock Climbing and Bouldering both under the same price for a friend’s birthday. Highly recommended for a team’s event or any outings with friends. Solid experience and worth the money. They have lockers which are free to put your belongings as well

After climbing at this gym for several months, I noticed several things that created a disappointing experience. This gym does not clean their holds (I have seen route setters use chalky holds when setting new routes), plus many holds need to be replaced (worn out with no texture left). The cracks are very chalky (again, never cleaned), so there is minimal grip. The routes will stay up for months (some as long as 4-5 months); climbing can get boring since there is infrequent route setting. Aside from the poor climbing experience, the facility isn't great. It is often too warm, especially when climbing in spots near the window without a fan. Some staff are poorly trained, with many instructors allowing beginner groups to climb on overlapping routes. I wouldn't recommend to regular/ experienced climbers. If you are going infrequently or are a beginner, it's fine.

Been going here for a couple of times and the climbs are great. Especially for beginners. They change up the walls seasonally so there will be. Ew challenges

We celebrated my son's 5th birthday here at Gravity Vault Hoboken. The climbing party was a lot of fun for all! Most, if not all, kids are first timers but that didn't present any issues. They were all excited from the moment they wore the harnesses. Belayers were very attentive, they provided easy instructions and encouraged the kids to keep climbing. After the climb, kids and parents did a few rounds of tug of war and that just added tons of fun! In addition to the the climbing activity, we had a short party in the yoga room. The staff were fast to assist in setting up the tables and chairs. Except for no piñatas and alcohol, there are almost no restrictions for room usage. We were able to bring food, drinks, decors, and music in there. We had a total of 30 guests and the yoga room was just the right size for us, the floor to ceiling window was a good add to the ambience. Over all it was a superb event at Gravity Vault! Izzy, Bar, Brian and the rest of the staff are all amazing.

Went weekly for two years minus some time off after giving birth. While it’s technically group fitness you hardly notice anyone else, the workout is so intense and 50 minutes flies! Super efficient, I loved being able to get there two minutes before class started and not miss a thing. Once a week was enough to get in good shape and help make for a quick and easy birth! I stopped going for now because I need classes with childcare but once I’m able to again I’ll be back! Great workout, instructors, and studio.

Always love taking classes here. The facilities are clean and easy to get to. Every instructor I've ever taken a class with has been friendly and encouraging with good feedback. And my favorite part, they actually encourage you to stretch at the end and take you through a quick cool down. I find most megaformer studios miss the stretching component, but it's so crucial to stretch after for muscle recovery.

I just finished my 10th class (Hoboken studio) and I am absolutely hooked! The workout burns in all the right ways and I can already see (and most importantly feel) a change in my body because of it. I’ve worked out for years doing weight lifting, cardio, yoga; but SLT works the body in a totally different way. The instructors are friendly, supportive, and informative (shout out to Cara A. who was the first to show me the ropes!) They create a great workout environment where you can focus on form and the workout and feel free to ask questions along the way to improve your practice. Plus SLT makes scheduling/canceling classes so seamless. I’m not going to lie, it’s a tough workout but if you come ready to put in work during class, it’s totally worth it.

This review is not about the SLT classes or Instructors. It is about the management. As a retired Master Pilates Instructor, who owned a classical pilates studio, it is quite disgusting how they handle their cancellation policy. I am presently a doctor and emergencies come up in my patients, which I understand. I was ill and they credited me a class. Many times I book classes end up not showing up because I am on call, and have to tend to patients in the ER. I do NOT ask for a credit for those classes, because I can understand, thats the nature of my profession. This past week, I had a kidney stone, and was in agony doubled over in the ER. I reached out to them and asked them for a credit with a proof, that I literally in the ER in extreme agony. They responded, "Sorry our 12 hour policy stands". I find it absolutely disgusting.

Love it here! Instructors really help correct your form and get the most of every movement. Highly recommend classes with Ruth, Jill and Zora!

Equipments are so close together that there’s no room to breathe. . Has that RUSTIC, 90’s gym feel to it. . Mostly clean . Only 24 hrs PF in the area, other than Manhattan . 2 floors

Skip this club altogether no real renovations even though they just remodeled, same old machines with newer software slightly more space. Never parking at this location. My problem like many others is the cancellation policy. I literally just came back from there all I needed to do was change my e mail log in well Karen from front desk informed me that I was late on payment and to top it off their would be another fee to unfreeze the membership. When asked how can I cancel she said you have to pay your balance first. The money wasn't the issue but Karen's attitude sure was. Enough to say bye to this membership and go to the nearby Crunch fitness. You get what you pay for in this case the rude customer service even came with a price tag. Thanks but no thanks. I expect a response but does it change my experience this morning? No, and I think people get the point. They don't need an AI generated apology.

Newly renovated. Looks good. A lot of new equipment. Feels more spacious. Always clean and the staff is always nice. The only downside I see so far is that the men's locker room is a bit smaller.

The renovations are horrible and made the gym smaller with half the amount of equipment. The first floor has minimal equipment and everything is jammed upstairs. Not worth even the cheap membership. Go elsewhere like fitness factory or NYSC. The new layout was poorly planned and not thought out properly. Will be cancelling.

EDIT: I've shared my concerns every single time I visit, and management and staff ask me to walk them around and show them who is on their phones. It's incredibly humiliating and is a security concern, as then I'll be seen as the "rat". The problem is so bad that some people are on the same machine for the entire time I'm at the gym, sometimes it's even worse and I can't do any weights at all and only cardio because half the machines are occupied by people lounging and playing on their phones (today someone played the crossword for 20 plus mins, another was completely hunched over watching a movie.) Honestly for $15 bucks per month this is the cheapest place to come hangout for hours if you've not got another warm dry place to sit around, and it feels like your patrons are just killing half the day hanging out. Original post: Please SUSPEND the membership of anyone habitually hogging machines while playing on their phone (or typically watching movies). I can't quite figure out if this is an internet Cafe or gym. They reopened with half the machines they had before and the most mind boggingly dumb layout. Machines are hidden around corners and like machines separated so if it's leg day or arm day or whatever be prepared to get your daily steps in running all over the gym from machine to machine. Then factor in all the people camping on machines for 20 plus minutes while watching videos and you'd be better off doing push-ups outside on Washington street. It would come with about the same amount of exhibition yoo since many machines are positioned right in front of the windows and passerbys like to make extended eye contact with you while you workout - not awkward at all. Put some privacy film on those street level windows. But hey the cardio machines have all been upgraded and are quite nice so that's a win I guess.

Listen, if I could give this more than 5 stars I would! If you’re thinking about joining a gym, definitely join Crunch Hoboken and ask for Colin, he’ll get you set up and make sure you have everything you need! Crunch has been the best decision I’ve made for a gym in Hoboken. I have tried other gyms here but seriously no gym has made me this happy and comfortable. It’s affordable compared to places like Equinox, but still has everything: super clean, top-quality equipment, and it’s never too crowded, so you can actually get your workout done. Being a commuter for work, it’s sooo perfect. They have full stations with mirrors, blow dryers, straighteners, curling irons, and showers, towels, soap, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, space so you can get ready for work without any extra hassle. The vibe is laid-back, the music isn’t too loud, and everyone who works there is really friendly. Nothing makes me happier than walking into a gym with a friendly greeting!

I recently moved to Jersey city heights and kept my membership from Crunch. I workout here even though it’s a 40 minute walk from my apartment because the facilities are so nice. So much space, clean, and always plenty of equipment. Way better than any location in NYC lol

Great gym with tons of equipment, very clean, staff is friendly. It does get pretty busy Mon-Thurs evenings but it's also one of the more affordable gyms in the area with a ton of value. It's right by the PATH too which is convenient for people in JC like myself.

I have been a member of Crunch Hoboken since February,24 and regularly take the group classes. This gym is fantastic, and I want to specifically call out one of the trainers out of many over there – Satya Resnick. He does Yoga sessions and is fantastic. Technically, he is very sound on the postures and has a great choice of asanas for the 1-hour class. Additionally, his choice of music for the class is very refreshing. Overall, the whole experience that he creates in that 1 hour is very relaxing and fulfilling. Crunch owners take note of his ability and the good job that he does.

Very rude & discriminatory location. Avoid this Crunch, or any for that matter. My boyfriend & I decided to try out this location with free guest passes due to I having negative experiences at the North Bergen location. Brian, the receptionist at front, immediately denied my boyfriend access for not being a "local" and when he replied that he essentially lives with me, Brian had a "say what" attitude about it. After confirming with another employee that it should be fine, Brian seemed to not like that and became passive aggressive & adamant in the fact that now my boyfriend could not access the gym due to "security reasons" because his last name was filled out incorrectly in the day pass, even though my boyfriend had given him his state issued driver's license with full name and photo ID. He then instructed my boyfriend to fill out the day pass on a kiosk and turned to me to say, "If it doesn't work, you guys are not going to work out here," in a condescending tone, almost as if he knew it was not going to work and was using it as an excuse. While we were understanding and cooperative with these rules and regulations, it was completely out of our knowledge, not listed anywhere at the time of filling out day passes, and overall Brian's attitude felt discriminatory the second he read my boyfriend's ID said he resided in Paterson. Don't waste your time here or at any Crunch.
