My friends and I come to this gym and this is absolutely unacceptable. I spoke to an employee, and I was told that they also addressed these unsanitary concerns to their manager, and all the Manager said was that they are low on staff for cleaning. Respectfully, I don’t care because we pay our hard earned money to come to this gym and the fact that it’s this dirty is crazy. Those trash bags have been sitting there for three days in a row now that’s disgusting. On top of that, there’s no corporate number or any higher number that you can contact besides just the local gym number which is disappointing. If the manager can’t step up to resolve these issues how is anything ever going to be fixed. Also how are people to supposed to wash their hands if there’s no soap and the soap dispensers are BROKEN. Like what. That’s just foul. Atleast restock the toilet paper and the paper towels around the facility!! It’s very annoying!

This gym it's like the real deal. Best gym in the area. From the moment you step in, you feel the good vibes. The equipment is top-notch, the trainers are super motivating, and the atmosphere is just on point. It's a five-star spot for sure, no doubt about it!

I’m only giving a 2 star because the bathrooms are always messy, and the toilets are always dirty after 6pm and on weekends. I’ve seen the same 💩 stain for a couple of weeks now and somehow they always run out of toilet paper. 2ND review this place is a potentially a decent gym but honestly the bathroom cleanliness is HORRIBLE the sinks has mold on the handles & the women’s bathroom toilets are never cleaned properly there’s always poop residue and NEVER is there toilet paper in more than 1 stall & they also gave PEE stains they cleaning was better when they first opened and had an older gentleman man doing it now it’s a Middle aged guy and doesn’t do any cleaning

I soooooo enjoy coming to this gym!!! I always get my validated garage parking. The gym has such nice equipment and friendly staff. The engagement with the manager was a great experience as someone returning to the gym! He was super helpful, kind, friendly, and was able to guide me in the right direction for achieving my goals. COME CRUNCH!!!

I recently joined crunch, and I couldn't be happier with my experience so far! From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the cleanliness and organization of the facility. The gym equipment is well-maintained and regularly sanitized, making it a comfortable and safe environment to work out in. One of the standout features of crunch is the incredible staff. Each team member is not only knowledgeable but also genuinely friendly and approachable. They are always ready to assist with any questions or concerns, and their enthusiasm for fitness is truly motivating. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned athlete, they make you feel welcome and supported in achieving your fitness goals. The atmosphere in the gym is positive and encouraging, which really enhances the workout experience. I’ve also enjoyed the variety of classes offered, led by enthusiastic instructors who clearly love what they do. Overall, I highly recommend crunch to anyone looking for a top-notch fitness facility with a clean environment and a supportive community. It’s more than just a gym; it's a place where you can thrive and feel great about yourself!

I visited the rock wall during my spare time during a conference, it was a lot of fun (if you are a visitor read the bottom note)! The kids that work at the climbing area are really nice. Plus, the best thing is that they belay for you, so feel free to visit solo. They have a nice variety of routes and wall that are well rated for beginners and experienced climbers such as myself. The bouldering area is also awesome, you'll find climbs from ~V0 - V7. Highly recommend as a student or visitor. Note: if visiting with a group you'll need special access, so get in touch with the Eppley Rec Center staff by email to arrange this before you arrive.

Gym is ok. More weight equipments would be appreciated considering the gym sells membership to the community as well. Parking costing $4/hr isn’t very fair, however, for those from the community to come use the gym (that we also pay for, on top of an alumni membership). There should be a special monthly parking discount for those who already have a gym membership. Capitalism is too alive and well at UMD.

For these reasons, just give it 2 stars: - Parking is tricky. Parkings are either expensive or too far from the gym even for the students. - Lots of people working out there do not take shower on a daily basis, so bad odor is noticeable and repelling. - Lots of cases people just come and hop in between your sets and take the machine or the dumbbells even though you’ve put your stuff nearby. - There are a decent number of machines, but not a good variety of machines. Only one smith machine for example. - The main fitness room doesn’t have mirrors and the interior lighting isn’t proper. - Fitness rooms are kinda far from each other, makes it challenging for performing supersets. Overall, unless you’re a UMD student and work out on and off, it’s not worth of spending. I’m a student here and don’t use gym.

Update 12/21 I just come to hoop but it wasnt a lot of space for basketball like it usually was. There are volleyball nets at mid court and they are stationed there. Also in the other gym they moved workout equipment in there taking up the basketball court. Other than that its only $7 for a day pass and they have other things you can find in the pictures. Satisfied but couldve been better if the courts were open for full court. I love this rec center its always bump on the basketball courts and if i need to work out or go for a swim then i can do that in the same building then get back to the gym and get back on the court.
