I am so glad this location finally opened. It took them awhile to finally open and finally get their certificate of occupancy. I had been going to the south Austin location. This one is much closer to my house. As I walked in I was greeted by the staff. One of the guys. was studying Exercise science was a wealth of knowledge as we spoke about diet and my exercise routine. I went up to the 2nd floor to use the exercise bike to get my cardio in. It took a little getting used to their layout of machines and free weights. Even working out when I did, I was able to get in, work out and get out without having to fight folks for machines like many do at some of the other big name gyms. The staff here is amazing and very friendly. I am thankful to have a Crunch closer to my house and look forward to the Kyle location opening soon.

Nothing wrong with this specific Crunch Fitness. Employees are all nice people but Crunch policies need to change. I had a membership and changed it to a lower level membership a couple months later and was charged $32 for that change. Fair enough but I was charged another annual fee $51.44 on top of that. Pretty outrageous if you ask me.

Cons; *12 months contract. * 2 months penalty if cancel early plus enroll and annual pay *Biometric recognition eyes and face * certified letter to cancel/ cancel at location *late payment charge and penalty. Debt is sent to collection agency if not settled. Poor overall reviews and ratings. Most complaints are about over charged accounts and cancelation issues. *IDK why they require 2 forms of payment. * squat rack weights are bulky cheap *decline and incline bench hooks are unsafe. You can hit em in the way up and hurt yourself. Pros: Brand new facility and equipments Tony Hartl founder dba undefeated tribe LLC *Dumbells and benches are v-good *Staffs are great and Personal trainers are available PS: updated to 4 stars 10/31/24 Why not 5? Cheap Iso machines and benches. If you spend millions why not equip it with top brands. 12/2/24 DJ the mngr canceled my membership for using 8 lbs dumbell to warm up from the designated HIIT barricaded area. No one ever used those weights during and after HIIT. Paid em off for a year but haven't received my refund. Few of my friends are fed up and canceled membership too.

This location has employees with exceptional customer service skills! I tried to cancel my membership through a different location for weeks and nobody ever answered the phone or called me back. I called Sna Marcos this morning and I was able to speak to Emily at the front desk on the first time I called and get my account taken care of immediately by David before the end of the business day. 5 stars for great customer service!

I've been going since they opened at the end of July. Staff is always friendly & keep to themselves, always busy, making sure everything is clean and spray bottles full. I've gone at peak times and never had an issue parking, just had to walk some. 5 months going 4 times/week and I have no complaints. Thanks San Marcos Crunch! You guys are awesome!

Nice layout to accommodate the whole family. It also had a clean and bright ambiance. Our 3-year old, 5-year, and 7 year-old did not want to stop climbing, and we would not describe ourselves as an ultra athletic family. There are two kid rooms, one downstairs and one upstairs, that are suited for kids up to 7 years. You can even shut the door on the upstairs room if you have littles. The bottom kid room has a door you may be able to close (was propped open) and small play gym surrounded by climbing walls. The kids are allowed to climb in the main area as well and mine enjoyed areas marked “B” for Beginner. The female staff that checked us in was extremely friendly and gave us a safety orientation on falling correctly. The kids caught on quickly. Also, we did NOT notice any odor or strange smell when we were there. Just want to mention this, because I am sensitive to smells and we almost changed plans because of the other review mentioning it.

Went on a rainy day and we stayed for two hours. Ryan helped check us in and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was excellent with my 5 year old grandson. Loved the small upstairs private room where grand gained some confidence and this 58 year old granny loved the big walls. So fun. We will be back.

I'll give it 2 stars because the staff was extremely friendly, no doubt! My only gripe is the horrendous stink of the place. It smells like a locker room got resurrected from the grave that sat for decades, and dirty feet. They were also vacuuming and it got really dusty in there, so we couldn't enjoy our time there. I literally had to go outside to catch some fresh air. The bathrooms are immaculate though. The prices for rental shoes and equipment very affordable. Staff is cool, except the laser pointer being used way to often. I noticed this one staff member would point and go over the children several times and that was pissing me off.

I didn’t know we had something like this in San Mo, but to find it and go here was awesome! I had so much fun and was super impressed by all the features of this gym! They had the climbing area, a gym, and some upstairs area that kind of looked like a lounge. My safety trainer (Jasmine) was really nice! I think she did a great job on training me how to properly land and how things in the gym worked! The vibes here were immaculate and the people were very friendly but also chill. I would totally get a membership here! I just wanted to reiterate the small gym they had here- I was so surprised to see this! And it looked effective enough- free weights, dumbbells, places to hang and practice banded exercises! They even had a mirror wall- that’s always necessary! We stayed there to close and I loved to see how they cleaned the mats- we love a good, clean place! Additionally, they had chalk dispensers which was super cool to see (even though one of them was empty). This was such a fun workout that left me HELLA sore the next day! Definitely recommend and I definitely want to come back!

Good bouldering gym especially for beginners. Wish the gym was bigger but the yoga is great also.

THRC is hands down the best gym in San Marcos! The atmosphere is awesome, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I’ve tried other gyms, but none compare. I also love that it’s a locally owned gym, and my daughter has a great time at the kids’ club. Highly recommend!

THRC is easily the best Gym in the San Marcos and surrounding area! The staff and Trainers are incredibly friendly, and the gym has just about everything you could ask for and then some. They have a full size indoor basketball court, all the free weights and machines you need and my favorite - their outdoor turf field (25 Yards from my guesstimate), they have various size tires to flip, battle ropes, sleds and a full outdoor 10 bay squat and bench area. On top of this, they're Trainers are beyond phenomenal - They helped me loose over 120lbs and I would be in a very dire health situation if it wasn't for THRC's Trainer program. They work with you every step of the way to achieve your goals and give you what you want and need! If you're in need of a new Gym (Not Golds or one of these other chains that treat you like a number) or in need of a some help to kick start your fitness journey, look no further than here! Thank you THRC!

I've been going to the gym for 2 years now. I have a special affinity for it now, as I've undergone a lot of personal growth, both physically and mentally, while on my fitness journey. It's a local gym, definitely not commercial, and you get that feeling as soon as you walk in. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. The patrons are vast and varied, with a ton of characters there that'll be able to make your day somehow, whether it be joking around in between sets, or giving you the encouragement you need when you're struggling on a lift. If you're ever looking for a place to work out, come here

Be cautious of the cancellation policy. The cancellation policy is unclear. From a few previous reviews regarding the cancellation policy, I see that it is a continuous issue. I had initially called in to cancel my membership after the year contract was up. I had been receiving texts messages about my membership coming up to the year and that I would have to renew. I understand that there is a cancellation policy in place, so when I reached out to THRC downtown to let them know I wouldn’t be renewing my policy, I assumed that would be the end of that. I was not told of an email method, and because of what I understood about the cancellation policy is that you would be charged for the month you cancelled, which I was okay with. My membership was for July, I reached out in August. I understand being charged for August. I had noticed an additional charge on my bank statements for November, to which I had called in again immediately and then was told about the email to cancel. I then had emailed to explain my situation. The cancellation was put in place immediately, which I appreciate. I’m going to assume that this is (hopefully) not going to charge me for December, since the charge for November went out the day I called? I received the cancellation notice through email, and I see on the cancellation policy it does not mention an email method. It does, however, mention to cancel in person or via letter. When I called in, I was not instructed anything of the such so I thought I was done. It’s a shame that this seems to be an ongoing process, and it is showing that the cancellation process is hard to get to. Even online or through the THRC app there is no notice of how to cancel the membership through the membership portal. I am out 3 months worth (this does not include August) of money, which the membership for this place is a bit pricey compared to other gyms. You can call in to get this information (as I did the second time) but it seems that this information is does not get mentioned every time. It looks like management is giving out the email on the reviews for people to reach out, so there’s a start. I just suggest making this clear in the cancellation policy with the email needing to address to cancel. If not on the website, at least on the app through the membership portal instead of the generic customer service email and number. The app does include the address and phone number to the location, but only from my experience can I say that it is useless information for cancellation. I have nothing negative to say about the facility itself. The equipment was nice and clean. Other members are respectful and keep their noises to themselves.

This gym was amazing. I’m an out of state visitor and was researching for a good gym and pics on here DID NOT DO JUSTICE. So I’m here to post some updated pics and insure anyone looking for a SOLID gym this is the place. I went to anytime fitness, golds gym and NEITHER of them came close to this gym. If your a bodybuilder or serious lifter or even just an average gym goer looking for a cool vibe and solid line up of equipment this is the place! The guy at the counter was super friendly and had great customer service. So whoever the guy is with the mustache props to you my man! Made a bomb shake too. I forgot to take pics of the cardio room and the other equipment so these pics don’t even do justice or show half the gym.
