Best Gyms with Free Wi Fi near Mcallen, Texas

Update: 12/16/24 I've haven't been to a gym in about 6 months. My insurance offered free membership so I can to this one since I like it. Still clean still the best in my opinion. Friendly staff a lot of workout equipment. Update 8-22-23 More than 2 months and still pretty good, no issues here. Update 6-5-23 After going a month it's still pretty good. I enrolled today and so far so good. I like to go work out when it's quite and it was pretty quite there. It's pretty big and they have spas and massage if you want. I got the basic just work out and go. We will see in a month or so.

The staff is always just standing around and not doing anything. The restrooms are always dirty, sometimes with no soap. When you bring it to their attention they seemed bothered. The customer service is horrible they always find a reason to complain to you. The gym itself is just a bunch of kids playing around. Been with Planet Fitness for 5 years, maybe it's time to look for another gym.

The massage chairs are so old school and some of the hydro massage chair settings don’t work! I went to one in Mission and it was way better than here. They need to upgrade this location with NEW EQUIPMENT TOO! Other than that I was still able to get a good workout

You think by now your staff knows you by name or acknowledged as you are in or leaving the building frontdesk does nothing but on their phones eating behind frontdesk they do nothing what are you paying them for??? Same guy still doesn't know my name Been here a year!!!! Pay attention this is ridiculous! Clean the machine do walk throughs pickup the gym attachments , clean , pickup restroom do more instead of harassing members as you walk back in building! His approach wasn't & never was nice no smile he looks angry no members like to walk into a gym and see ugly faces be polite.

Warning to all new years gym individuals who are looking for a place to join , the management here has the worst attitudes.this location does nothing to clean this facility and has the worst customer service. This location let's the teens vape anywhere they want. If you want to use a dirty restroom where front desk individuals just stand around doing nothing this is the place for you.

I came in to UFC McAllen for a business trip looking for a place to lift. Holy cow this place has everything you need to stay on track even when you’re on the road. SUPER CLEAN facility, friendly staff, great athletic environment. If I lived here this is the place I would call my Gym Home. I now have my spot when I come to McAllen. If I could give more stars I would, highly recommend.

I love my gym! We train as a family 6 days a week! Great coaches, fun classes, friendly staff, & the amenities are only getting better! My kids drink lots of fresh water & we can use wifi, now!

If you are thinking of getting a gym membership, UFC Gym is the place to do it. The staff is friendly, the people do not judge, the equipment feels new and kept clean, and the ambiance is excellent. They have classes for different practices of martial arts such as boxing, muay thai, and BJJ. I have been a member here for over 5 years and it has been great since. Thank you Julio,Tamez, Andrew, Coral, Adrian, Ian, all of the people that keep this place awesome. Great job everyone

A clean gym with a motivating atmosphere. The members are respectful of each other and there is always plenty of equipment available. There are peak times as with any gym but it’s a little more manageable here depending on the day of the week. There is always somebody cleaning down every crevice of this facility aside from having plenty of cleaning supplies available for members to wipe down. The staff is great and have been really nice each time I’ve checked in. Definitely recommend this gym to anybody not sure of where to call home.

I paid for a one year membership ahead of time under the pretense that this gym not only had a sauna and a steam room but also punching bags. One month into my membership all punching bags were removed without so much as a warning to "make more room for leg machines" which they already had countless of. To make matters worse, the sauna and steam room are ALWAYS broken, now I'm trapped in a membership at a gym that charges premium prices for amenities it does not even offer and is open less hours than a planet fitness or trufit. I have spoken to management several times asking about the punching bags and they never have an answer for me on the return of the punching bags, at this point return them or return my money. I saw another review on here about filing a class action lawsuit and they may be onto something, y'all are just squeezing your customer's wallets and God knows when that money is gonna be put to good use.

Stopped by for a relaxing steam room / sauna session after a workout, but the sauna is out of order and the steam room wouldn’t turn on. Luckily I got my day pass refunded! Fix your equipment please :)

The paying members need to group together and file a class action lawsuit. Absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable that this place is constantly in disrepair and disorder. Steam room always broken down. Sauna always broken down - poor service. Staff cannot even answer, simple questions as to maintenance and class times They honestly don’t care about its members. Corporate at its worst if you are signing up because you want the extra amenities of a steam room and a sauna and heated pool don’t make the mistake because they never work. They spent more money painting the outside of the building than they do keeping all facilities working. My goodness it’s not like the Valley doesn’t have workers to fix things. Don’t make the mistake also because you think they have lots of classes because most of them are virtual or cancelled. But boy, do they like to charge!

I like the variety of equipment at this Golds. However, good variety is overpowered by the constant disarray. This is the most disorganized Golds gym I’ve ever been to. The dumbbells are never in order. Dumbbells are often missing and found scattered throughout the gym. Overall, the gym is messy and the owner of this location should be embarrassed for constantly offering poor quality.

I really enjoy the body pump classes with Adam. He is very energetic, engaging and motivating. I love the upbeat music and the front counter staff are very friendly especially Bruce.
