We have been allowed to train here with a training group once a week for the Air Force. The facility’s and the staff are both amazing. We appreciate the flexible staff and how they allow us to utilize the facilities to our needs much appreciation to this facility and the staff!!

Excellent facility and amenities. Throughout the day, the weight training and cardio facilities are crowded and often noisy. There is waiting to use many weight machines. In the evenings, the men's changing room has the atmosphere of a high school locker room. Perhaps, there are too many members enrolled at the RAC.

I have unresolved questions and reservations as to the integrity, the clarity, and the application of RAC's billing practices. In the course of nine moths I was consistently charged for services I was not receiving. The RAC maintained I contracted for those services and that the RAC was under no obligation to notify me that none of those services had been used by me in the nine months they continued to bill me for those services even though they would have known that in several of those months I never set foot on the place. I was refunded $2,288 for the services never used, but I remain of the impression that the RAC had hoped I wouldn't discover the error and continue to pay for services not utilized. I believe a more reputable business would not have allowed a billing error of this magnitude to continue to accrue as ongoing for nine months without at least reaching out to question why I would continue to pay for services I was never using. It was only by luck triggered by another investigation that I caught the mistake. As a result I no longer have any trust that the RAC has created billing practices and policies which are designed to serve fairly and honestly the interests of both the RAC and the patrons it serves and cannot therefore recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely amazing gym. Lots of varied equipment, indoor pool and track to get in all my cardio no matter the weather. Above all else, the classes available are worth every penny, especially if you love to dance like me.

Blown away. This is the best active center I have been in. The sheer amount of options for the family make this a special investment. The kid's area, pool, track, exercise equipment, cafe, office rooms, and more! Wow.

I come here for work and have a punch card membership. Everything about this place is fantastic. Wide variety of routes and difficulties. Gym is very accommodating to people's climbing abilities. Great customer service; Staff are never to busy to answer questions. Just a very cool and welcoming environment. I highly recommend ROCA.

This review is long, but to any parents reading this who are thinking about letting their kids climb here: there are safety concerns with this gym. I’ve been climbing indoors and outdoors for 15 years and I was formerly a climbing coach. I’ve climbed in 22 different states, 7 countries, and over 30 gyms, and I can honestly say Roca is the worst place I have ever climbed - actually, it’s tied for #1 worst with Slidell Rocks in Louisiana, which went out of business. The biggest difference between Slidell and Roca, is that the owner of Roca is one of the rudest people I have ever met in my entire life. Let’s start with Roca’s lead ropes: these ropes are in such terrible shape that I wouldn’t even feel safe using that rope to walk my dog. To any parents reading this: if I had children, I would not let them climb here based on the quality of these ropes. And to make matters worse, this gym will not allow the use of personal ropes. I strongly believe that if a gym insists on its customers using the gym’s equipment, that the equipment should be up to industry standards. Roca’s ropes are not. My belay partner is nearly twice my body weight - this is an issue that is rarely encountered by men, and men tend to not understand how serious of an issue rope burn can be when using poor quality ropes and having such a drastic difference in weight between belayer and climber, even with a GriGri. While using Roca’s rope for our belay test, I was burned by the rope on the practice fall, and again while lowering my partner later in the session. I’ve included pictures below. I’ve also included pictures of Roca’s ropes vs. our personal Mammut rope that is less than a month old - there is no comparison. If safety is the concern with personal rope use, I’d look at the statistics - bouldering is the number one source of injury while climbing indoors, closely followed by autobelays. The bouldering mats in the Roca bouldering area are incredibly stiff and FAR below industry standards, and pose a massive risk for injury (based on the quality of the ropes and mats here, I’d guess this gym is having serious financial trouble). This gym also has the most autobelays I’ve ever encountered, and autobelays are the number one cause of death in indoor climbing. Other common accidents come from ATC use, skipping clips while leading, improperly tied figure 8s, etc, but I have never encountered a gym climbing injury resulting from use of personal gym ropes. If this gym is truly so concerned about safety, they should address their bouldering mats and allowing ATC use first. I also wanted to note that I have never been spoken to as rudely as I was by the owner today, and I will gladly pass along the message about his mistreatment of customers to everyone I know in the climbing community from California to Maine. My family owns a climbing gym in a small town - I’m very familiar with dynamics within a small climbing community, and certainly if our gym had new climbers coming in with questions about unreasonable policies, we the owners would NEVER speak to someone in the tone that he used with us. Ever. Lastly, and I truly mean no offense to the setters, but it is clear the setters here lack experience. The setting is some of the worst I’ve encountered. The best thing this gym has to offer is the Kilter board. Also Sarah, Daniel, and Phil are great - aside from that, I can’t think of anything positive to say about our experience at Roca.

First time and we are smitten! Great place and friendly staff!

We had our son’s birthday party here, and had an amazing time! Brynn did an excellent job being patient but also setting expectations for our group of excited climbers. Everyone had success climbing, and we’ll be back soon!

Tried it out- just wasn’t for me. Not even the gym itself just this type of lifting in General. But for someone who is, I think it is a fine gym. The owners are great and personable. Dan was up front about the contract which was nice. I’m a runner and just am not ready for this type of gym quite yet. The saunas are definitely a plus! Traffic flow was good at normal busy hours. Got a refund after I decide it was not for me! Dan signed it and thanked me in a note! Would recommend!

This is a nice gym with most of the equipment you can ask for. 4 bench presses (2 standard, 1 incline & decline), 4 squatting racks, 2 smith machines, 2 leg presses, 2 hack squat machines, and dumbbell sets up to 120lbs. There are also a variety of cable machines and accessory equipment. For the value from what you pay for the membership, the gym provides you with everything you need. On a side note, the gym is located near a handful of other businesses. Be careful walking in and out because often there are a lot of people that cut through the parking lot. I’ve almost been hit a couple of times.

I am considering joining this gym so I wanted to check in on its reviews and I am going to jump in and defend this companies star rating. Most negative reviews I have read so far, come across as written by spolied and pretentious brats. No one behaving in these manners, in my experience, are ever worth listening too. As the value of their integrity and hornor does not exist. Unfortunately our social media lifestyles gives a louder voice to these types of people, sad but true. Every company has its ups and downs and considering the last 4 years have been a very challenging existence for public places like a gyms, we as a community should be showing a little compassion and understanding to the difficulies these types of facilities had to endure. My chiropractor attends this gym and he highly recomends it and Chiropractic First is an outstanding business and practice I assure you. I encourage others who attend this gym to take a moment and speak up. I have a feeling I will be back to write and offical review follow up on their services and facilities with a still 5 star. Remember read up but try everything once for yourself most negativity is BS.

I'm an avid gym goer from Chicago. While visiting family here, I got to workout at this gym 3 times and I gotta say it is a very very good gym! From he cleanliness, all the equipment you'll need, the SAUNA, this is a phenomenonal gym! I'm super glad that I was able to workout here! I was hoping to get a free pass to workout there, but I gladly paid the day fee to utilize the amazing gym! Highly recommend! Stop thinking about it, just join this gym already and thank me later!

Where to begin with this place? Upon entering, you're likely to be greeted by an unsmiling elderly woman with bad hair. I believe she's one of the owners. The vibe is hard to describe. Very odd. Bathrooms for the women are not dirty exactly, but dingy and very rundown. There are bizarre handwritten self congratulatory signs scotch taped up on the wall. The fluorescent lighting in the main area is horrible. Very cold and makes everyone look unwell. The "classes" for Zumba and yoga appear to typically consist of 2 to 4 people and seem to get cancelled often. The small “Walking track" looks to be done with masking tape by hand. Hilariously crooked. The price is reasonable but the quality of the facilities are reflected in the price. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I have been going to Detour for the past 8 years. Originally started when as a very unfit individual and through dedication and consistency I became a very fit human. The owner and coaching staff have always been first class people who are encouraging, helpful, knowledgeable and able to meet me where I am on whatever day I come in. I have participated in many different training programs there’s multiple options that everyone can find success in. The social aspect of the gym is always great too as there are many friendships to be had, people to meet of many walks of life, and the parties Matt throws are pretty epic.

I just joined Detour and absolutely love it! The community is so nice. It’s a great gym with people of all skill levels who encourage each other. The classes are amazing and really push you. One thing I’ve noticed most is the coaches really take the time to invest in you and teach you. You don’t need the fanciest equipment or high tech latest things…this gym has everything you need and the biggest part is that it’s so welcoming!

I’ve been a member at Detour for almost 8 years. This community makes the hour workout my favorite time of the day. My kids have come to a few workouts and enjoy working out. Matt and the staff truly care about the members as people and understand that this is a lifestyle.
