When it comes down to it every gym will be slimy at the end of the day because it is their business model. Was a member at HWX for 3 years and they still need to suck an extra membership charge from me. Recently cancelled my membership due to no longer being able to justify the price and wanting to explore alternatives. Even after just paying a bimonthly fee I was informed that I will have to pay another as it is part of the cancellation protocol. I understand this is my fault for not reading the fine print when signing on, but also want to implore you all to stop this shady business practice when you already got sooooo much money from me over the years. Previously I probably would have rejoined HWX after a brief hiatus, but now I have a bad taste in my mouth. Taking my business to Down Under Yoga where there are no hidden fees/ slimy last minute charges. As far as actual facilities solidly a three, very small but clean. No smith machine and could benefit from some other various machines. Also feel like for a gym built around being all women the majority of trainers are men. Price is coming verrry close to that of Lifetime when all hidden fees are involved and this is not a luxury gym in the slightest.

I love the CC location because the workout spaces on the 2nd floor are spacious, well-kept, and updated. I also like the general environment due to other gym goers being friendly and conscientious about sharing machines. My only (small) want is for more things in the locker room like hairspray, spray deodorant, hair ties etc. I’ve been to other gyms that offer these kinds of things, and it was really helpful when getting ready.

Clean and dependable - this gym is pricey but offers the most elite, feminine workout experience! I love their classes and the digital studio!

I was given a tour and it felt like I was being looked down upon, as if I couldn’t afford the price of the membership. The price has also gone up from $100 to $130 monthly at their base price over the past year which is absurd. Overall it felt unwelcoming and pretentious

I've been a member at many gyms in my life and Healthworks by far exceeds any previous experiences I've had. It's always clean, the staff is wonderful, there is plenty of equipment to use even at peak times and the locker room amenities are top notch. It is worth every penny!

I went there as a guest, and enjoyed the experience, however I wished they would have had a better AC system to control the temperature and heat.

Terrible customer service.. takes them forever to reply to an email asking for clarity on undue and incorrect charges. Been waiting for 11 months and many follow ups later no response. Asked them to clear this and restart my membership, still no response.. I guess they don’t care about business

For the price and location, GymIt cannot be beat. Great trainers and desk personnel. A mix of college students, just graduated and Brookline locals.

TLDR: Paying $800 a month in personal training fees, they abruptly changed the trainer I signed up with and was forced to work with a new trainer. In order to accommodate this change… they wouldn’t even waive my membership fees. For just the duration of the training sessions. 1 month. It’s like 70 dollars. Milking your customers for 70 dollars when you already are getting $800 a month from me is just bad business practice. And 70 dollars is most certainly not worth a bad review. Any logical business owner would understand that. I signed up for an absurdly expensive personal training 3 month commitment with a specific trainer. 2 months into my sessions they changed my trainer. He was the trainer I grew comfortable working with and without much of a heads up I had a new trainer. The new trainer is great, doesn’t change the fact that it’s not who I made the 3 month commitment with. They won’t even waive my membership fees while I’m already paying them $800 a month for training $100 per hour.

Pretty great gym, I’m surprised it’s not busier being across from BU. They have plenty of squat racks and DL platforms along with dumbells that go up past 120. Overall pretty solid for the membership price.
