I highly recommend this gym Tim is one of the best trainers out there he got me to get my body fat to a 20% he helping. Me build my muscle his workouts plans are the best they get your heart rate up they help you burn that fat and calories. He is a reasonable price than other trainers that try to take your money and not train you. He actually takes the time and pride in all his work .

I found Fit For Life gym while looking for a gym to go to in close proximity to home. I signed up not really knowing what to expect, but within 3 days found not only a great new place to workout but a great community of people as well. It’s a different workout then I’ve done in a while but is challenging and enjoyable. 6 weeks of a boot camp has turned into me being a long term customer. If your looking for a gym with kind people that will also push you to be a healthier/ stronger version of yourself Fit For Life gym is the spot!

Fit For Life will be part of my life forever! Do yourself a favor and TRY IT! This gym is not your average gym, which is one of the reasons I love it so much. It’s an upscale boutique style gym that is always clean providing excellent and well maintained equipment. You get what you pay for and here, you’re getting your money’s worth and then some! They are always at the cutting edge of fitness and Tim, the owner is full of a wealth of knowledge that he loves to share and teach. I love that the owner (Tim) is very involved and it is his expertise and high standards that makes his gym stand apart; just by talking to Tim for a few minutes, you can tell he’s very passionate about his training and gym and truly wants the best for all his clients. He truly cares that all his members reach their personal goals and will help any way possible. Just remember it takes two, he can teach, but you have to be willing to listen and try. His gym is so comforting and positive, you feel a sense of community and family there. Another fabulous thing about his gym is to just come as you are, I’ve never felt judged or self conscious because everyone is there just trying to better themselves. I tried boot camp which was great, but was not the accountability I personally need, so I moved onto private training lessons with Tim and have never looked back (or been happier)! It was the best decision in my fitness and health journey. The benefits are countless but I can say that he helped me gain confidence in just being in a gym and working out. I am beyond proud to say I feel comfortable working out with free weights by myself or dropping into a hotel gym and being able to get a workout in because of all the tools Tim has helped me acquire. Also, the workouts Tim creates are wonderful, challenging and deeply satisfying. You are never bored and he changed them up all the time. He has so much knowledge you can trust in him your form is correct and safe. My best advice is to trust his process because it’s a journey. I am so full of gratitude for all Tim’s help in creating a weekly work out routine as well as all the knowledge and guidance regarding nutrition. If I were to say he changed my life for the better, that would be an understatement. I have never felt so strong and confident in my workout. I also have never been so knowledgeable about nutrition and it’s just from what Tim has taught me. Personal training always seemed so expensive to me, but you can find ways to make it affordable whether it’s a semi-private lesson, or a few private sessions to teach you to work out on your own. It’s amazing how you can make slight changes in your life to accommodate personal training sessions. Call Fit for Life today and take the first step investing in your health and you won’t be disappointed. I LOVE Fight for Life and my personal trainings with Tim.

Fit for Life Gym has been a life changer for me. I have not only lost weight but am more toned, fit, and stronger than I’ve been in a long time. The classes are pre-set so you don’t have to decide what you want to do. I really like the total body work out and the variety each day brings. Tim and Brittany are great at showing you how to correctly perform each exercise and will modify it for your individual needs. I also like the attendees, everyone is really friendly and helpful to newcomers. Not going anywhere else.

If any of you have ever wanted to go to the gym, but have been scared or had anxiety for any reason, especially if those reasons have been that you might look dumb or be judged. I can confidently say that this place is for you. The energy is right here. I've been to a ton of gyms over the last few years, and this is the first time I've ever felt 100% comfortable. & it's important to feel comfortable when working out so you can actually see results & not get hurt! I think overall my favorite part of this gym is the cultural diversity of the people working out. Everyone is there for the same reason, & it’s fun to meet new people I with similar interests/goals. Also, the trainers & owner are really nice & helpful. They don't care if you ask 100 questions & that's a good feeling! 10/10 recommended. I LOVE FIT FOR LIFE !

Jeremy (Manager California) handled a situation that for the most part left me feeling less than human. I have been a member of PF for over 3 years and have lost over 150lbs. Panama lane machines for handicapped have been broken for over a year and I was told they are not under a warranty so likelihood of repair is nonexistant. The main issue was having to use an aluminum chair and a yoga mat to exercise on the equipment, after which when I asked the employee if I could leave the mat at the counter because my back and foot I was hurtine i was told, "That's not in my job description". I guess customer service isnt this employee's Priority. Furthermore the employee went back to checking his phone after, and I walked away feeling defeated. To think I actually wanted to work for this location because Ayla is a great manager and her staff talk highly about her. I already struggle to get in a work out, stay pain free, and consistent and this employeess judgement left me wanting to cancel my membership. If It was not for Jeremy here at California I would be an inshape member today. He expressed empathy and let me work out on their equipment even though I was not a home member here. Planet fitness needs to maintain its equipment or have someone who's job it is to ensure its not down For months or a (year). We pay monthly im sure the community expects working machines. I look forward to a response to this situation.

Clean location, great amenities, I love planet fitness because it’s never over packed like most gyms get, you can come in do your specific workouts without having to wait for machines to become available to use

I went to the planet fitness on California Ave and the rude manager there told me and my guest to “you could leave, the door is there, leave” only because I told him that I got messed up with the names but the old as manger that should retire told us to leave and didn’t even let me speak and explain why I got messed up with the names. I never had a bad experience with pf but after that I’ll be canceling my membership very disappointed in pf. I was really disrespected by a MANAGER there do better in picking managers!

Horrible customer service specially with a guy named Mario in the front desk he is so incompetent doesn't know anything. I was trying to cancel my membership from a Planet fitness club in Carson ca. this guy said he couldn't help me that I specifically had to go cancel in person to the very same gym I started my membership at. I called the old gym and someone kindly helped me over the phone and helped me transfer clubs to this one here in Bakersfield on California. Even after I transfer club I still couldn't cancel my membership immediately. Planet fitness sucks so fast to take u as a member but make it difficult to cancel your membership..... I still have to be here back unfortunately to cancel my membership another day... hopefully with another competent well knowledgeable employee.

The addition of all-new Matrix treadmills, ellipticals and stair climbers is nice to see. One pet peeve of mine, and this isn't exclusive to Planet Fitness, is people who spend more time on their phones while sitting at a weight machine than they do exercising on it. Even with us standing nearby wanting to use the machine. Do your internet elsewhere, folks. Leave the gym for those of us that actually want to work out and then get on with our day.

This gym keeps every section clean. From the main gym floor to even the bathrooms. Depending on the level of membership, the amenities are worth it. Weights, cable machines, classes, swimming, sauna, steam room, the recovery room with message machines, and their smoothie and shakes area. And for those with kids, check out their kids center.

Have been to this gym as a buddy with my friend's Max membership and by using a 1 week free trial on the app. I like the gym, the equipment, amenities and decided to pull the trigger and get the Max membership with Kids Club access so I can bring my kids to the gym when I work out. I walked in and said I wanted to join. Then I was directed to fill out my information on the app already on my phone. I wanted to use a credit card as my form of payment and told that I could. However I was told by the supervisor that I would be charged a $30 fee if I used a credit card as my form of payment. When I questioned this and why the app seemed to not allow me to move forward without banking info, the supervisor said the app wouldn't let me sign up without banking information in order to save me this $30 fee, and that if I insisted on using a card, she would have to create a whole new account for on their side, and to just go ahead and fill out my banking information anyway. This struck me as odd and I prefer to use my credit card for monthly expenses like gym memberships rather than my full blown banking information. I don't understand the $30 setup fee for using a credit card. Is this fee listed in the promo ads for $1 enrollment? Is this just an arbitrary penalty for using a card instead of my banking information because it's easier to pull money from bank accounts rather than charge credit cards? I was told by both the employees I spoke to that it was an option to use a card for my monthly dues, but only if i was ok with the extra hassle and an arbitrary up front fee of $30. This seems unfair. I came in to purchase the Max membership but walked out with nothing because no one was able to explain this to me. If it's supposedly an option to use a card, why are employees trained to simply insist/pressure you to give up your banking information? Frankly, I've been a member of a lot of gyms and this was weird to me, so I walked out.

I Like this gym and their amenities, but can the bathroom stalls be attended more frequently?. I have been coming here for about five months now and the toilets are consistently discussing. And I know it’s not because there isn’t someone to do it because I guarantee there is 2-4 workers hanging out in the front to greet people every day.

Alright...so this place has been open for almost 1 day. Go ahead and ignore 98% of the previous reviews as they have nothing to do with the actual facility... and are all about the LONG delay we all had (I signed up in May of 2022). The facility itself is beautiful. Obviously, it is very clean as it is new. The staff have also been friendly whenever I've asked questions. There are all types of workout equipment and areas. Barbell weights feel solid, and dumbbells go up to 100 lbs. There's a yoga room, meditation room, cinema room (yes, watch a movie while doing cardio), outside workout area, group exercise area. Bathrooms are very nice and showers are big! There are plenty of drinks choices, and it's not overly cold (like Planet Fitness that has all their giant fans turned on to keep their gyms at 50° or below 🙄). I'm definitely looking forward to using this gym and checking out the other ones around California in time.

Here to give 5/5 stars to combat everyone who decided to rate this place 1/5 before it even opened. How do you feel now? This place, especially for the price, is absolutely phenomenal. The facility is massive and whenever you think you’ve seen everything, there’s more. The cinema is no joke, the stereo system is on par with an actual theater experience. There’s SO MUCH equipment—gone are the days where I have to wait an hour to use one of the three benches that are functional (I’m looking at you PF). I can’t say too much about the pool yet since it won’t be open for another month but it looks super promising. Seeing as it was their first week opening, I didn’t expect too much from the smoothies, so I’ll give them a pass on that but excited to try other drinks on the menu. The staff almost remind me of the kind of employees you’d find working at an Apple store. Shout out to Matt for giving me an awesome tour and getting me hyped up to come in for my first workout session there. So excited to see this place grow and thrive.
