So far what I can say is, we went to find a gym and the young woman at the counter was not super helpful or informative. We asked about a membership, she handed us a paper with what the memberships consist of with no other information. Maybe my expectations were too high, I thought maybe she would explain the different aspects each came with, or a tour. Had I not been to a planet fitness before, I wouldn't have been able to explain it to him. I will however go back to try the "free day" you can get with the app. I hope my experience gets better and there is someone with the willingness to assist.

Decent gym. Insanely crowded & terrible weekend hours. Smith machines are backwards, which make it hard to correct form using the mirrors in front. They need turned around, all of them. This is a massive injury prone situation.

This is not a judgment free zone. I had the worst experience with shaler planet fitness. The staff from 2 days ago were terrible. I took my autistic client to the gym per his request. When we arrived we were not greeted while my individual has a sensory issue he carries his vape around never used it in the gym he knows not to indoors. He wanted to try out some equipment. He is new to the gym. The staff were at the desk laughing and watching our every move. We were there maybe 20 minutes. When were going to leave the staff stopped us and told us that she was watching and that he couldn't vape in the gym which he never did and that I couldn't come to the gym in crocks and that we didn't wipe down the equipment. We carried our own wipes and hand sanitizer but she never said anything to the other people in the gym not wiping equipment down. She proceeded to say say this is your warning and it's not acceptable at the gym. I told her that my client was autistic and that he was new to going to the gym she still said this is your warning and was very rude. So not only did they make fun of my autistic client she upset him and made him feel like he was in trouble. I will never bring any of my clients back to this location.

have been a member for 3 yrs. Pf is an awesome fitness club; staff is friendly the w/o and locker area are well maintained. I typically get in my w/o after work and with the recent operational hour changes particularly Sat. (close @ 7:00p) has presented as challenge. The experience overall is good and I have shared that with people in my circle.

The staff are kids who will sit there on FaceTime while people stand at the desk to get help. Then when they actually start helping… they just leave the phone on speakerphone because your time is not more important than their phone call.

I love showing up here everyday. The owner, Marco, and the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, especially Darrel. Old school but well maintained and clean. They have everything you need and more. They are cash only. PS Madeline, there’s a gas station next door. You didn’t look too hard for that ATM.

This is truly the perfect gym. The setup and machines are perfect, the lore and vibe is perfect. It’s clean and you can tell everyone respects the equipment. So refreshing to see a gym with so much soul.

The staff are a bunch of old friendly neighborhood meatheads. Extremely affordable. Literally the only thing they don't have that I would like (because it's my preferred form of cardio) is either a stair climber or a rowing machine. But I'm not docking a star for that. Parking, like anywhere in Pittsburgh, sucks. But it's not the worst.

If you are looking for an old-school bodybuilding gym, or a place to lift weights that isn’t a sterile/generic feeling commercial gym — this is the place. All of the staff here is wonderful, friendly, and helpful. This gym uses metal weights (which is hard to come across these days) and has a good variety of machines. One of my favorite aspects of the gym are the trophies and posters that cover almost every inch of the walls. This place has a lot of history, and the staff that work here have a lot of passion for weightlifting (and the Bloomfield/PGH community in general). If you are looking to join a gym that actually has purpose, look no further. Despite being more old-school, everything is maintained very well. Only downside might be the bathroom, because it isn’t large, but that’s not the reason you go here. I would recommend this place to just about anyone, I even bring my dad when he visits because he likes it so much.

Small, quiet place with lots of equipment & friendly people. I always enjoy my time here BUT their rates are right up there with the other big gyms even though there are no locker rooms or showers. I've spent a few free trial days using this gym before deciding if I want a membership, and I've been tossing the idea around in my head for a week now...not being able to get a shower & go about my day has been making it a toss-up for me. I guess if you live close by it wouldn't make too big a difference.

Nice small gym with a good assortment of equipment. No power lifting though. Owner is often present and ensures all the equipment is treated well and cleaned up after. Many clients are in the competition body building scene. Good prices and none of the corporate BS that you'll find at LA Fit, Fit 19 etc. Often have the place to myself in the AM or early afternoon.

I joined The Gym almost 3 months ago and LOVE it. This is the longest I have stayed a member and have so much motivation now to change my life. The Gym is one of the reasons I have been changing my life. The atmosphere is welcoming and equipment is great. I have never had problems finding equipment to use, if something is being used I go to another piece of equipment and then I can get the one I wanted (on the very rare occasion this happens). I have been a couch potato all of my life and now I am going to the gym on a daily basis. I signed up with a personal trainer who puts so much time into helping me achieve my goals and teach me the proper form when I am doing workouts. If you are looking for a friendly gym that has people that care, this is the place for you. I have tried the yoga classes which as great ways to stretch your muscles and work on mindfulness. Also, tried the Kettlebell AMPED which is a tough workout that really pushes you. The Gym is a secret gem in the south hills that is so worth the visit. The owner knows everyone and gives personal attention to the quality and atmosphere here.

Love being a part of this community. So much more welcoming, clean, & comfortable than many of the big name gyms in the Ross Township area. Never too crowded, even during peak hours of the day around rush hour or early morning. 24 hour access. Access to a free body scan for all new members. Brand new equipment that is well maintained. Knowledgeable trainers who genuinely care about being of service and tailoring to your needs, not just because they like to workout. Would recommend to anyone of any fitness level or experience.

This is by far the best gym in the area. The staff is super friendly. I stopped in today to check it out and after doing my tour I knew this was where I wanted to be. It is clean and well kept. They have a wide variety of equipment to fit what I need. The membership is very well priced and worth it! I toured and trialed other gyms in the area and they are no where close to what workout anytime is! It is a must try if you are looking for a gym!

EDIT: downgrading to 3 stars because not only did they raise the temperature back to 74, they seemingly have no methods of controlling the humidity in here. As fall has gotten colder, the windows are covered in condensation because it must be 80% humid in here. They need to get in line with the industry and keep the temperature around 70, and the humidity a normal 40-50% I really like this gym, but the only thing keeping me from reviewing 5 stars is the temperature. Not only do they keep it at a weirdly hot 74F, (edit: it's now set to 72F but still struggling) but the HVAC system can't keep up during summer, and it gets up to 78-80 in there. It makes it very difficult to try and do intense cardio. Otherwise, I love the equipment selection. Everything you could want, and it's never super busy. They have lockers, massage beds, and are always open!

Workout Anytime Fitness Westview This gym is laid out perfectly with 7 elliptical, 5 bikes, 2 stair climbers, 10 treadmills, all facing 6 tv screens, all on different channels. This is perhaps the cleanest gym I have ever been in, including the bathroom. There is plenty of weightlifting equipment of all kinds, and they are all spaced out well. Equipment cleaning spray and microfiber cloths are provided. The friendly staff are always cleaning/vacuuming when I’m here. Highly recommend!!

I read a review below regarding the staff accusing people of not paying and then not being able to cancel or place membership on hold. This entire staff is all over the place. One person will tell you one thing, and the next person will tell you something different. And GOODLUCK trying to call during “staffed hours”. My family will be going to a different gym that has better customer service, actually offers everything that’s advertised, and more variety of programs offered.

X has everything you need for an independent workout! Two floors, lots of equipment and accessories including many squat racks (even a semi private squat room!) It is relatively bare bones, some of the equipment is on the older side but it gets the job done. From what I can tell they do not have group fitness classes, sauna, or steam room. It was a bit strange to me that 1/3 of the gym is restricted to personal training. I could not find a Bulgarian split squat stand or hip thrust machine but perhaps they exist somewhere. The staff (Grace) was helpful and kind. Guest pricing is reasonable: $50 for a one week guest pass, or $20 for day pass. It sounds like the membership options are also reasonably priced ($55-$85/month plus initiation fees) and are month to month. I am pleased with my experience here and definitely recommend!

5 Stars I had an amazing experience at GYM X Shadyside! The staff was incredibly professional and knowledgeable, especially during my body composition analysis with their INBody 360 scanner. The process was quick, non-invasive, and provided such detailed insights about my body fat percentage, muscle distribution, and overall health. I really appreciated how the team took the time to explain the results and offer personalized advice to help me work toward my fitness goals.Especially CJ! The technology is cutting-edge, and the environment at GYM X is friendly and motivating. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking to take their fitness journey to the next level! Thank you, GYM X, for helping me understand my fitness goals better!

This used to be a great gym but lately there’s been a serious decline in professionalism from the people that work there. If they aren’t on their phones, they’re in the break room, and if they are not in the break room, they are goofing off around the gym. There are three folks there who are absolutely fantastic and busting their butts while their coworkers slack off. They are friendly, they’re making sure the gym is in a good place, and then you’ve got folks working like this one today. Couldn’t even use stability ball because she was too busy using them as chairs and an arm rest, hanging in the back with her friends, dropping the N-word left and right. I go there to work out and I’d like to enjoy it. You need to have a manager on site more often. Matter of fact…. I don’t know if I’ve ever even seen a manager. I’d love to show them the picture of this employee today. Insane this is how you’re running a business.

People leave their garbage on the floor around the gym. The ceilings drip water because they don't change the humidifiers. There is currently a puddle by the lat lull down station. The windows and mirrors are disgusting. There is tumble weeds of dust dirt and hair all around the squat racks. I have now told two employees about this over the last few weeks. Nothing has been cleaned. I give the week day morning guy credit, he at least stays awake during his shift. Most of the morning people have just slept at the front desk the past few years. Paper towel dispensers run at a 50 percent rate of being empty. The employees have a 50 percent pass rate on being able to fill the paper towel dispensers as well. Also the ceiling in the basement has been leaking for years. Not when it rains so that makes it more disgusting. Fitness 19's solution is buckets. It's been over 3 weeks. They haven't fixed the ceiling. Now there is black mold. The humidifiers never get emptied and it is currently raining inside the basement.

I joined yesterday because I discovered the location closest to me has precor brand ellipticals. And precor is # 1 in my heart. So I'm so excited about that. I love that it's 24 hours! Location is convenient. Used to come here in 2018 as well. I switched her not two weeks ago and already am cancelling. Gym is dirty. Period. Some cardio equipment is broken and a lot of everything else is in varying levels of decline if it isn't brand new. Ratty rubber handles that aren't repaired. Some of the equipment smells terrible (like petting zoo almost) because it's never cleaned. Layer of grime on bathroom doors that doesn't look to have been cleaned in years. Shame really, because it's very close. I'll stick with my prior gym. Staff wasn't very clear on cancellation as well, so I hope I'm not charged more than my contract states.

This place is affordable with free parking and childcare which I give 2 stars for that. However they took out the aerobics room and there is no more trainers or classes. Further they only let you use the message chair once a day and their other extras only once a day which isn't worth the membership even if it's affordable. Also they will charge you a 15 dollar late fee every month even if you told them you no longer want the membership with the extras on it. I didn't go for a whole half a year due to an injury. I paid up and said I no longer wanted the extras on my membership since you can only use it on a limit of only once a day. When I came back they had charged me 15 dollars every month from the time I left. I had over a 100 dollars in late fees. I told them that's inaccurate explained the situation to them and just left. I ended my membership. Definitely not worth it...

Clean facility, supportive atmosphere, great classes and wonderful employees. Excellent communication with managers, I've been going here for over 5 years and any time I've had an issue they've always gone above and beyond to address it. Unlike some of the larger gyms in the area, they're very personal without being intrusive. Plenty of support to help you achieve any of your goals, with the perk of going any time you want! I've gone late at night and I have never once felt unsafe. Whether you're here to lift, do cardio or take a fun class like Pilates, there's lots of great options and the machines are kept clean, organized and in great condition.

As a member, I can tell you this gym is disgusting. The equipment is old and some of it is broken. This is a picture of an extension cord for a light in the men's room. Bathrooms are often out of order, and the gym is dirty. Staff is never there, and honestly, they aren't needed anyway. This gym is filthy and outdated. Do not join if you care about having a working bathroom, lights, or clean environment. Otherwise, it's perfect. Update woman's room now no water. Broken equipment they don't fix it they just put notes..Decided to leave this gym and head to Crunch fitness. There is plenty of equipment and imagine the water works and lights aren't rigged. Snap Futness on mcknight should have the board of health called.

Updated to add- it's been a week since the gym responded that they were actively working to fix the problem, and it's still the same, so not only do they not care about the gym and it's members, they have no issue with making false claims and blatantly lying! Going on three weeks now with no usable women's restrooms, what a gym! Worst gym in the greater Pittsburgh area. Bare bones, outdated and often broken equipment, but by far the worst is the women's bathroom not being usable for over a week now with no estimate of when it will be fixed due to the owner being out of the country until January. The owner does not care about the gym or it's members, it's a disgrace. Making his staff use money from their own pocket to fix leaks to keep the gym open is shameful. Bathrooms with a functional toilet and sink are essential. Don't waste your money here

I have been a member here for a while now. I've tried every other gym in the area and this one is the best interms of service and convenience ( I am a body builder). The gyms down the road on mknight have huge contracts and take you through hoops if you want to get out of them. Also ony a few others are actually 24 hrs as most claim to be but make you pay extra or do a "soft close" after 9 PM. This place being 24 hrs and close to where I live helps a bunch. The staff was super helpful and she made it easy to set up my guest pass for family and start and stop membership whenever I have to leave town. The members keep to themselves but are helpful if you have fitness questions. Also, I am a big fan of the key card system, I am in and out without issue.

For the past couple of weeks, I have noted a sewer smell in the vicinity of the water fountain. Yesterday, the smell was horrendous. Obviously there is a plumbing problem that needs to be addressed immediately! The rating of four stars is based prior to the sewer smell and assumes the plumbing problem is fixed quickly.

I’ve been using Crunch Fitness for a while now, and I have to say that the overall gym experience has been good. However, I’ve had serious concerns about the childcare service, particularly with one staff member. There’s a staff member who has a consistently bad attitude. She doesn't seem well-trained when it comes to working with children. Recently, while peaking through the window I saw her l grab my 1-year-old son Im assuming after he threw a toy or something along those lines. She doesn’t seem to ever redirect his behavior or try to resolve the situation, she seems overwhelmed and doesn’t attempt to communicate or engage with him in a positive way. When I asked about it, there was no effort to address my concerns or offer an explanation. It’s clear that this staff member spends more time holding or playing with other children but doesn’t engage with my son at all. This makes me feel as though he is being treated differently under her care, which is extremely concerning as a parent. That being said, there is another staff member who works in the evenings and she is absolutely wonderful. She’s always pleasant, attentive, and patient with the kids. I’ve never had an issue with her, and I always feel comfortable leaving my child in her care. Unfortunately, because of the inconsistent and concerning behavior of some of the staff, I don’t feel comfortable leaving my children in the childcare area anymore. It's a shame because the gym itself is great, but childcare is a huge part of the experience for parents. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that all staff members are properly trained and held to higher standards when it comes to child care

They don't value the safety of their members. I looked for clamps for my barbell for squats. None to be found. I asked for some up front. They told me to look again. I found broken ones and tried to use those. In the process three forty five lb weights came off the bar mid squat. I go tell the front. They told me to look again. I take one more lap before I finally said enough to management. Then he gas lights me with all you had to do was ask (four times, walk for half an hour in circles and almost kill yourself). He then suggests I pay my own money for my own clamps. For a gym I spend thirty bucks a month on. His next best suggestion was cancelling my membership. Finally something we can Agree on

I’ve been a member of this gym for about 2 years. My favorite part of the gym is the sauna, when I’m in training season the sauna is great for recovery. The copious amounts of treadmills is awesome. The staff in the early morning have always been pleasant. I would like to warn people of their cancellation policy. In order to cancel your membership, you are required to sign a cancellation form in person with a manager only. I suggest calling the gym ahead of time to make sure a manager is available in the period of time you are planning to come in. Unfortunately, I came during the hours that they told me that a manger WOULD be available (Monday-Thursday 10am-9pm, Saturday-Sunday 7am-2pm) and there was no available manger for me to complete my cancelation. I specifically got someone to cover for me at work while I took my lunch to go cancel my membership only to be told no one was available and I would have to come back. I wasted an hour of my time and my lunch break (driving to and back from the gym), not including my second trip to the gym later that day. There was no “sorry for the inconvenience” or any accommodation for the inconvenience this situation caused me. I’m leaving a 5 star review in good faith because I never had an issue with the gym or the staff before this situation, but I do wish someone would have at least apologized. I have worked in a client facing industry my whole career and I have dealt with unhappy clients, I understand how it feels, so I hope this 5 star review can influence the gym to form a better cancellation process and help them communicate more clearly with their customers. I still do recommend this gym, I just hope other people have a better experience than I did! :)

Been a member here for over 6 months and one thing I love the most about this community is how supportive everybody are. The member services are very patient and love to help their members feel the most comfortable and supported at the gym. As an ex personal trainer, I love how knowledgeable their Pt’s are and happy to help you anytime they are available! Also love the fact it’s 24/7 Monday to Thursday!

1. Gym is gross. When you pick up dumbbells or a bar, there is a thick layer of grease and sweat. 2. They bill like con artists/scammers. They bumped up my rate without notifying me, and I was paying an extra 7 dollars a month for an upgraded plan that I did not request or desire. This went on for over a year. "It's in the contract." Oh well hundreds of dollars lost to these scumbags. Also, they will charge you an extra fee to cancel your membership, and they will bill you for an extra month after you cancel because "it's in the contract." 3. You can't cancel over the phone or email despite assurances from some of the staff. In fact you can only cancel in person during certain hours of the day. They make you come in person to cancel so the manager can body shame you, tell you about your bad eating habits, and try to make you feel guilty for not coming in to workout. 3. It's extremely crowded. If you come after work you will wait to use basic equipment like a bench or squat rack. 4. The only water fountain in the gym was broken for a year... completely ridiculous. 5. Sauna perpetually broken.
