Good equipment and vibes. Also love the hot tub, steam room, and outdoor space in the summer. Gym floor gets very crowded and you have to wait for machines unless you go late. Sometimes music is blasting so loud that you can’t hear your own music. Gym is really hot in the summer time. Be aware of thefts. My sneakers got stolen in the locker room, so definitely never leave your shoes out while showering/ in sauna. Was told by employee not to hang my jacket on the hangers or leave water bottles, as they also get stolen.

What a gym! Staff is polite, kind, and knowledgeable. The facility is immaculate in terms of cleanliness , amenities, and quality of equipment. Equipment being out of order is non existent at this facility as routine service occurs daily! While my interactions with staff has been positive for the most part, Debbie and Timo have went above and beyond to assist me on several occasions! Can’t thank you all enough! No wonder the gym is waitlisted! My only complaint is, I wish I found this gym sooner. 🤙🏽 With gratitude, Tony Vega LCSW/CPT/CNS

We joined last year after some hesitation on my end, and we just canceled about two months ago. I personally did not like the vibe from the beginning. The facility itself is nice and the indoor aquatic center is the best thing that they have. The outdoor pool area is nice however, with all of the trees surrounding it, it gets very cold very quick. I find that the gym itself, and the classes, are very clicky. I also find the price to be a bit much and not worth it in my opinion. I was very happy to have canceled my membership and I’m much happier at a different gym facility.

I visited here today and it was a very nice facility with plenty of parking, classes, equipment and amenities. Joshua was the account manager who gave me the tour of the facility with no hard selling of a membership (thank you). Josh was very pleasant and professional who explained what the facility offers and allowed me to tour at my leisure. It's pricey for the monthly (no contract) individual membership and joining fees averaging $99. Per month and $179. Initial joining fee (50% off until 5/31). You may get a subsidy from your health insurance or employer so check. If you can afford it and live locally (5 -20 min) it's worth it. Don't let the parking lot intimidate you. It's too pricey for me and I would have definitely joined but if you can it's worth at least checking it out. 😊

Here to leave a review for Tanya at the Spa. Love her service, manicure like no other. Absolutely worth every penny. Her Gel manicure lasts me 4 weeks. I’m actually a member at a different gym ( mostly because of location) , but used the free pass to work out today for the first time.. I was very impressed with the gym , thought the equipment was great, gym is very spacious, lots of cardio machines. I would love to try a class at some point.

I am absolutely baffled. I cannot believe I can't wear my shoes into Ymca anymore. My shoes! The ones with the intricate lacing system, the ones that cradle my feet in their soft, closed-toe embrace. Do you know how long it took me to find these shoes? The perfect shade of brown, the ideal weight, the way they hug my heels and support my arches... it was a match made in heaven. These aren't just any shoes. They're a statement, a work of art. The laces, woven in a [pattern], tell a story of craftsmanship and dedication. The closed-toe design, a testament to timeless elegance and practicality. The very shape of the shoe, sculpted to perfectly complement the human foot, a marvel of engineering. And now, I'm told they're not welcome? That they violate some new, arbitrary policy? I demand an explanation! For 6 long and glorious years these shoes carried me to the finishline of my workout. From entering into the facility and greeting staff to sitting on the machines checking my phone these shoes were there for me. The acting figurehead having served a 2 and a half year tenure has never ones in over 700 days looked down as my footware and observed the pinnacle of human engineering and deemed it unsatisfactory for lifting weights. The earth has rotated around our sun twice and in that time span we have put a rover on the surface of Mars. Along with launching the James Webb telescope into space and setting it to orbit the sun at the Lagrange point around 1 million miles from earth observing the center of our known universe, but we were unable to observe the shoes of a daily patron who shows up for around 30 to 40 minutes a day, 5 days a week. It's like waking up one day and being told your car is now a bicycle. What about these shoes is suddenly so offensive? Is it the laces? Are they too intricate? Too suggestive? Do they pose a tripping hazard? If so, I'm willing to sign a waiver. Is it the closed-toe design? Does it evoke too much formality? Too much sophistication? I assure you, I've seen people wear far more ostentatious footwear in this establishment. Is it the weight? Are my shoes too substantial? Too grounded? Do they threaten to disrupt the delicate balance of the universe? If so, we may need to reevaluate the cosmic power structure But the most infuriating part? They claim my shoes aren't "athletic." Athletic? These shoes? Have they ever seen an athletic shoe? Do they think all shoes that aren't made of mesh with a memory foam sole aren't meant for running marathons? And to add insult to injury, my shoes were called shitkickers at first but when challenged said she actually said "boondocks." Boondocks? I had to look it up, and apparently, it's slang for uncivilized and unsophisticated! How can anyone look at these meticulously crafted shoes, with their hand-stitched, premium grade leather and deem them uncivilized? It's like calling a symphony orchestra a garage band! I've tried to get a straight answer. I've asked the staff, "What exactly defines an athletic shoe in your eyes?" But they just stonewall me. They refuse to answer, hiding behind vague, broad statements. It's like they're deliberately trying to keep me in the dark. I implore you, reconsider this absurd policy. My shoes have done nothing to deserve this exile. They're comfortable, stylish, and perfectly safe. They're an extension of my personality, a reflection of my soul. Don't rob me of my right to express myself through my footwear. Let my shoes in!

I obtained my membership to the Y in late April with my husband and a friend. We took Kathleen's Silver and Fit class on our first week. We entered the class not knowing the protocol about what equipment to pick up and where to stand or sit. We were greeted with a very unfriendly older women that sneered and talked about us as being the new people. Needless to say this was very upsetting to us as we were looking forward to having a positive experience. Once we started learning the ropes so to speak we became more comfortable. I now make it a point to help out new members. Kathleen is a wonderful instructor and love attending her Monday and Wednesday classes. I will say that the class is extremely crowded and often there are not enough chairs and equipment to go around (no-fault to Kathy). I would like to see the Y purchased new equipment and if possible add another class in the early evening, I feel that as a new member there should be a staff member walk you around and talk to you about the classes offered and how to use the equipment before you start. The YMCA is a wonderful and affordable place to work out and socialize. Please consider doing some renovations as the facility is looking a little out- dated and run down. Please feel free to reach out to me should you want to speak with me. Thank you, Lynn and John Gavin

The staff at YMCA were great. Very nice and professional. My daughter really enjoyed her time at the Y for the couple weeks she was there. She was sent home with crafts and art work and enjoyed swimming two times during the week. Great option if you're looking for a camp for your kids and their drop off pick up times were very convenient

I went to the club today for lap swimming, according to the schedule, there are 2 lanes available from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Unfortunately, the lanes were given away for private use without advanced notice. There is no respect to the member benefit. The excuse goven was "Oops, we forgot to update the schedule"

I am very pleased with my Planet Fitness, Mt. Laurel, NJ. I have never been a member of any fitness center but I’m happy I joined. I’ve recently had some health issues. Now on the mend and am totally happy with how Matt and Maddy are keeping this gym so spotless. The whole staff is very nice and helpful, never disrespectful towards anyone. I was nervous about joining at my age but their compassion and caring make it easy. The facility is so clean and the atmosphere is the most positive I’ve ever been around. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who may be considering joining! The best place and the best people!

I have been going to Planet Fitness in Mt. Laurel, NJ since it before the Pandemic. It closed and when it reopened I rejoined. Management and staff members are wonderful They are courteous, respectful, friendly and above caring of their members. The staff is constantly cleaning and wiping down the machines. Anyone who says nasty things about Mt Laurel Planet Fitness is either a nasty person themselves or don't like themselves and have the opinion everyone is like them. I give Planet Fitness a score 10 stars not Five.

My first time here and I felt very comfortable and the staff was very helpful and polite. The building was clean and smelling good.

Been going to this gym since 2019 and it’s been going downhill these past couple years. The gym is relatively clean but the mirrors are always dirty. The main reason I’m giving a three star rating is because of the staff, particularly the morning crew. There was a line outside the door this morning at 5am because the staff never showed up it was 5:30 and still no show. Ended up going to another planet fitness instead because I have the black card membership but what about the members who just had to go home because staff didn’t show up. Really hope this gym can turn it around and make it a better experience.

A Subpar Experience at This Planet Fitness Location. I am submitting this as a personal request for corporate to launch a thorough investigation into the treatment of customers by the management and staff at this establishment. This location urgently requires an in-depth review of its management practices, and here’s a clear example of why: the manager and staff blatantly violated their own code of conduct by harassing a member over an account that was not delinquent. During the incident, they disrupted his workout, created an unnecessary and embarrassing scene, and demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism. I initially began visiting this gym because I have family members who are also members here. Until recently, they had no significant complaints—it’s convenient, it’s affordable—but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, this location seems to be run by disrespectful, immature staff and their equally unprofessional and confrontational managers. Specifically, I am referring to Matt P. The situation escalated when my brother, a military service member, visited the gym to prepare for upcoming drills. Upon scanning his membership QR code, he was informed that he did not have a backup payment method on file. This was perplexing, as Planet Fitness memberships are set up for automatic withdrawals, meaning the gym already has our banking information. When my brother questioned the issue, the managers and staff became unnecessarily combative, creating an uncomfortable and hostile environment not just for him, but for other members observing the interaction. When he asked if there was an outstanding balance he could pay to resolve the issue and continue his workout, they claimed they couldn’t provide that information. This response was especially bizarre, given their insistence on adding another form of payment to the account. My grandfather, a loyal Planet Fitness member, a military veteran, and a cancer survivor, attempted to politely intervene to de-escalate the situation. To his astonishment, he was met with outright hostility. After years of patronage, he was appalled at the disrespectful and unprofessional treatment he received. It is evident that Matt P. and his team violated their own harassment policies, and they likely breached additional policies we may not yet be aware of. As a direct result of the derogatory and disrespectful tone Matt used toward a 70-year-old military veteran and cancer survivor, one membership was officially canceled last night. This incident raises serious concerns about the hiring practices at this location. It appears that individuals lacking basic customer service skills and professionalism are prioritized for employment. Given the consistently poor overall ratings of this gym, it’s clear that these problems are not isolated incidents. There may still be hope for this location, but only if they completely overhaul their degenerate staff and bring in qualified, professional team members. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if this gym is in contention for a Guinness World Record as the worst mainstream fitness center. Avoid this location if you value respect, professionalism, or even a minimally positive workout environment.

Wanted an updated review. Decent, friendly, convenient hours, good classes, good training, equipment choices, pool, sauna = good value to me! I've been coming here for about 20 years as a morning user. I rarely see a broken machine for long and see "the fixer" always doing something! Ceiling needs work but can see it's a huge job and really doesn't affect use of gym, just aesthetics. Managers are nice now & I'm happy with the team & folks using the gym. Almost everyone friendly & helpful, no muscle head airs or grumps that I've encountered. Only complaint is sometimes a few folks take more than 1 machine but not a biggie. Overall, pleased! Join up if you're a nice person lol

Poor Customer Service and Communication: The staff at XL Gym were unresponsive and unhelpful when I approached them with issues. Despite being a long-term member, I felt like my concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. There was a clear lack of communication, and I was left without any satisfactory solutions to my problems. 2. Unprofessional Treatment: The way I was treated by the staff was unprofessional and unacceptable. I expected better treatment after years of loyalty, but instead, I felt undervalued and ignored. 3. Lack of Effort in Resolving Issues: When I raised my concerns, there was no genuine effort from the team to help resolve them. A high recommended for Ginna that she’s the manager and Matt to take a classes, Customer service thing how to attracted people to the business and not to let it go. after all these call LA gym helping me resolve my issue different customer service and welcome me to the gym. The owner XL I would love for you to be there and check how these people are right they keeping you people they let go. This is your business.

I have spent multiple years going to XL Fitness and the experience has been nothing less than excellent! The staff are friendly, the gym is clean, and the equipment is great! Also, all of the members are respectful and friendly. What makes this gym so unique is that it has the amenities of a big-box gym (large locker room, pool, sauna, etc), but it has the feel of a family owned business that you can feel comfortable going to. I would highly recommend checking this gym out!

They take advantage of young teens wanting to cancel their memberships, who really have no idea that in the contract they initially signed, cancellations are only valid in writing versus a phone call....Nor when you call is that stated. Way to rip off the young!

I initially joined this Gym when they were "Planet Fitness" then Future Fitness before the well known Planet Fitness copyrighted the name. This was my first Gym and they got me really going on my Fitness Journey. In a full circle moment I moved across the street from what is now XL Fitness and was looking for a change from my home workout routine. Wife learned that XL offers a discount through my medical insurance so I joined back up. First the good: Some of the trainers are still there from like 20 years ago! Nice to see the longevity and I recall them being pretty nice folks. The gym is large with a fantastic amount of Strength training equipment, free weights and all the cardio equipment that exist in the U.S. Seriously, there is a lot of equipment here. I work out fairly late (8:30pm) so the gym is not crowded at all. My wife is in there during peak time at 6 and says it's not too busy then. My wife also loves the instructors for the classes she attends and though I don't interact with most of the staff, she seems to really like them all. Now the Bad: The Gym and it's equipment was here 20 years ago. Not much has changed or been maintained. The paint from the celling is flaking off and you'll see it all over the gym. Stand there long enough and you can see it floating down from the ceiling as it falls. It's all over the floor. The cable station is not maintained at all. One of the pulley's is loose and the cable is frayed. The mechanism sticks a lot so some of the resistance you get is not the weight itself but friction. Makes for a not so smooth experience. The plates on this station have not been maintained so you can barely see the Weight amount on the plates. This is consistent with many of their machines where I can't tell how much weight it is. I have notes on my workout log that says 8 plates down because the number on the plate is worn off. Easily remedied with a label maker you can buy from amazon if you want to save costs! Many of the benches in the free weight area were original from 20 years ago and it shows. Some have broken handles, ripped padding and rust. The Dumbbells are a mismatch of different brands and styles and very worn out. I grabbed a set of 30's and the rubber was peeling off of it. Some of the rubber weight plates are gnarly dirty, specifically the 35 lbs plates for some reason. These are also a Hodge podge of different plate styles that have been collected over 20 years. The carpet is also original from 20 years ago and it shows. It's also not vacuumed nightly, unless the peeling paint from the ceiling is falling off at an alarming rate because I see it covering the floor every night I'm there (4-5 days per week). Compared to other gyms in the area, I'd have to say this one is the dirtiest. Finally, while the members have all been nice, they have little gym etiquette. Many don't re-rack their weights. I feel bad for the lady at the front desk who is reaching over her head un-racking 45lbs plates that some entitled member left on the machine or bar. I try to help out between sets when I see weights on random bars etc. I've been a member of what outsiders may call "meat head" gyms and none of them were as self centered and thoughtless as the folks here. You literally go to the gym to pick things up and put them down. So pick up after yourself and re rack your dang weights people! I will however say that I routinely see members wiping down benches so that is awesome. Though none of these are the people that leave weights on machines. All in all, because of the discount I get, the time of day I go and the fact that I walk across the street to get my workout in, I continue to attend this gym as it has everything I need equipment wise and it is convenient. If I were paying full price or had to drive there, there would be much better options in the area with regard to facility and equipment maintenance and cleanliness for the same price. Given all the cleanliness complaints I see here, I'm hoping the current owners are coming up with a plan to reinvest into the gym. Time will tell.
