Was there for a birthday party and while everything was fun, the bathrooms in your place needs cleaning. WE used 3 different ones between the party room and the pool and all 3 were absolutely disgusting and reeked of urine. 🤮

I attended here for a few months recently and also when I was a kid. Considering its supposed to be a Christian establishment I was not treated in a Christian way, catholic sure, not Christian. The staff here can be nice, but are usually stuck up. It took 6 weeks to get one to realize I wasn't hitting on her and was just being nice, like I am with literally everyone. Unfortunately the management here is not properly integrated and there is an absolute failure regarding communication and authority to permit. One instance is use of facilities for non standard functions. If the courts are open and empty and you want to stretch or dance, and you receive approval from multiple staff, upon shift change that approval isn't worth a break and you will be reprimanded. It doesn't matter that you talk to them later with the staff who gave approval, you're still warned. I've even asked management and been approved to dance but then its revoked, because of the fact I was reprimanded for doing something I was allowed to. This being after stating that there was an issue previously and asking explicitly for an exception given the fact the facility wasn't in use and I wouldn't continue to dance if people arrived or had issue with it. Not only that but decorum overall is substandard. Rules held generally at YMCA in multiple states (NYC NY, ESVA VA, San Francisco CA) are selectively applied at this YMCA. Its very unusual. Look I'm not some stranger in a new town... My family has roots going back 8 Generations in this valley, one of the islands on the river was named after my moms side. A cousin of mine was Governor back in the day, multiple relative are prominent Doctors Lawyers and School Administrators. Although we might not be the largest clan, or the most well known.. we are definitely a middle of the pack group.. (frankly that speaks for something around here).. we know what to expect from the community and THIS YMCA seems only interested in catering to young children, Wilkes University students and retired dues paying men exclusively with the addition of 2 Muslim families and the occasional event. To have someone discriminate against me for dancing on an empty basketball court and lightly singing a few songs while jogging on the treadmill, its disappointing. They could have just said, certain facilities are only to be used for their assigned function, regardless of whether other functions can be held there. Instead they leave things up in the air and yoyo their preferences and willingness to be considerate and accommodating. They could have sign stating No singing or talking while on the treadmills (I'm SURE there still isn't, 14 months later). Instead, they fail to state their way of thinking and I believe they use the lack of instruction to discriminate against people who do not fit their express demographic interests. I'll end my review with the following: Judging someone for finding a place to pursue fitness, and expecting them to do things you havent even dictated within the rules is inconsiderate and a study in stress and failure to administrate your duties. Knowingly oppressing fitness enthusiast and their related activities just because they either seek to conduct themselves in a place those actions aren't normally held or appear different is wrong. Expressing being Christian practitioners and then being intolerant of your own gospel is just sad.

It's a very nice place, big pool, 3 different gyms, basketball ball court, hot tubs, showers, locker rooms, kid programs. Talk to Victor, he's very good at his job and cares a lot. He deserves a raise.

Did swim lessons for my 3 kids, 6 weeks... 2 of the classes were missed due to illness of the teacher and weather. They picked a make up day 2 more days of the last week. (So regular class was Tuesday and they made the make up Wednesday and Thursday) my children's weren't available the make up days and they didn't honor a credit. Wish they would have done the right thing. Feels like a poor move by the YMCA

I’ve been working out for 10 years. I’ve been to gyms all over the country. Staff acts like you’re interrupting them. They also prefer you use your palm to enter. So, you basically have to give Amazon all your hand biometric data to enter. Or, wait 10 mins for someone to manually check you in. Not to mention. You might go to use the men’s restroom stall but can’t get in because people are using drugs. So, use the bathroom before you go. I cancelled my membership on new years.

My physical trainer, Brooke, is truly awesome at what she does. She has an incredible ability to tailor workouts to my specific needs, ensuring that each session is both challenging and rewarding. Her knowledge of fitness and nutrition is extensive, and she always provides insightful advice that helps me achieve my goals. Her motivational skills are second to none, constantly pushing me to exceed my limits while maintaining a positive and encouraging environment. With her guidance, I've seen significant improvements in my strength, endurance, and overall well-being. It's clear that she is passionate about her work, and that dedication shines through in every training session.

From the extremely nice staff to the quality of the equipment this place is by far one of the best gyms in the local area. Every time you sign in most of the staff know you by name and ask you about your day. Phenomenal customer service. There isn’t any lunk alarm in this joint either. They provide a very friendly and positive workout experience in their workout facilities. Most classes are also very inclusive and inviting as well. They’ve even let me lift things up and put them down while I play air bass guitar. There is definitely a sense of a community atmosphere among members as well. Most know each other in person and it’s not long before you’ll find yourself talking to most other gym goers. I highly recommend going to Crunch Fitness for your next workout.

I’ve been a member of this establishment since their launch in the trailer before the gym opened officially and I have to say I am becoming increasingly disappointed in the quality and maintenance of this building. While the staff is nice and friendly, there are machines that have been broken for 2 months now without any reports of upcoming timeframes of their repairs. The gym used to look immaculate when entering, now, it’s poorly maintained, often dusty and dirty and the disinfectant wipe stations are empty more often than full. The female locker room mirror still has not been replaced and many of the female employees have taken the larger and accessible friendly lockers making it extremely difficult to store your belongings.

I enjoy the classes, especially those with Frances, Ruth and Sarah (bike rider). They encourage you to push yourself, assist you with doing the exercises correctly without embarrassing you, make the classes challenging yet fun, switch up the routines so as not to get bored, explain what the exercise is doing for the specific parts of your body. Miss Norma, Miss Charlotte and Ant in the childcare area are super! They nurture the kids, actually play with them and have a way of making them comfortable upon first entering the playroom. It’s clear the child is of utmost importance. The bathrooms/changing areas are clean, tidy and plenty of lockers. Front staff is exceptionally friendly on both arrival and departure.

I've been going here for about 2-3 months now. Overall I would say it's worth the money. Plenty of room and equipment. They also have a pool, sauna, basketball court, free weights, cables, Olympic weights, classes, and a tennis court. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you in any way possible. The members understand *most* gym etiquette. My only problem is some of the benches and equipment are rather old and need to be updated. Other than that, it's a great place to work out.

The equipment is clean, in great working order, safe and there's enough to accommodate everyone, they have a 3 track, indoor walking/running track....the pool is super clean and the temperature is perfect, as is the hot tub, stream room, sauna, tanning bed and locker rooms....highly recommend

One of my favorite places. Happiness does come in a gym. Mini in-house Triathlon with my coworker who inspires everyone to greatness. Anyone can do it. Indoor track makes it even easier. Love Dave's classes...hard core. Brian's are hard core in a different way. Zumba is a lot of fun if that's your thing. The pool is very nice. There is lots of space, and are many equipment areas, massage chairs, saunas, steam rooms etc. Just a wonderful place... because of the people too.

Very big facility with lots to offer. Large pool for laps with several lanes. Hot large ja uzzi and a steam room. Basket ball court whi h is full size for multiple pick up games. Boxing area including 2 working speed bags, multiple heavy bags, a timer and a fo us bag. Lots of weight equipment both old and new. Bikes and all types of classes . Seem to have everything here but it's expensive. $20.00 per day when other gyms harge near that a month.

Not the prettiest gym but still the best gym in the Wilkes Barre area. They got more amenities than any other gym & have kept their price at $45 a month even thru out inflation l. Other gyms that charge similar dont have the pool, basketball court, tennis court, etc. I recommend this gym to all my friends.

My daughter joined Mission Cheer last year after having left her previous all star gym and this move was the best thing we have done for our girl. She loves all of her teammates and her coaches her and they are all so attentive, professional, knowledgeable and have a genuine love for each child that comes through the doors. Mission Cheer is truly our second family. My granddaughter is special needs and has been enrolled in their Rec tumbling classes for a little more than a year now and she has THRIVED!!! There is a place for everyone & nobody is left behind.

When I brought my five year old into this gym for the first time she was timid, shy and had no confidence in her ability. Within a month she was throwing tumbling skills perfectly that she had no clue how to do prior! She has the drive and confidence to work on them at home, and is still excited every time we leave for the gym. The staff feels like friends we have known forever, and they truly want every child to succeed. The gym has gone above and beyond to make every child feel welcome, wanted and like they belong. I cannot say enough good things, I highly recommend this gym! They are affordable, friendly, safe, welcoming and accommodating.

My daughter and I absolutely love the coaches and atmosphere of MCA!! They are so understanding, attentive, and parent inclusive! This is my daughters first season of All-Star Cheerleading and the amount of skills these coaches have been able to teach her is incredible, but the confidence they’ve given her is priceless. I’d highly recommend anyone looking for a positive and inviting gym that can become family, MCA is the place!

Where to start. First of all gotta say how welcoming the owners are. Rilie absolutely loves coach Becca. These ladies love this sport. (Yes, it's a sport) I love how they lift these kiddos up especially when their having a rough day. There is never any yelling at them. These kids work hard and it pays off, they have had several first places and second place wins as well. Rilie loves going to the gym and loves the competitive cheer as well. The coaches work hard to get the girls ready for competition and reward them for the winning and hard work. Because of all the good that Rilie has told her siblings her baby sister is also in the tiny novice group. She absolutely loves going and calls her teammates friends. There is never a practice they never don't want to go to. The owners are definitely helpful when it comes to having to adjust do to an injury and very understanding that these things happen. The clinics, I myself love going to them. I learn so much. As a cheer parent I love seeing the smiles on their faces when they do an awesome job, and as a coach for rec cheer I love learning new stuff. If you want a good experience and love being part of a family then M.C.A is the gym to go to. You will not be disappointed. It's a great positive environment and family oriented people.

This place is a great supportive environment. Folks that have been in therapy find a home here to explore their new capabilities and manage a regular exercise program again. I’m doing things now in my 50s that I didn’t think were possible again. The group exercise programs are challenging but structured in a way to prevent injury. You can warm up on your own and stretch after . It’s still your choice to bounce a ball in your face or choose a box that’s too high to jump on to but it’s part of the plan to find your boundaries in a safer environment than cross fit xyz or at your own peril. Plus there’s periodic funevents that challenge everyone like St Paddy’s Day She nanigans. I think I found the magic sauce here.

All of my kids love it there and all of the coaches and older students who help teach the younger kids class are awesome. My kids have always been iffy about sports and anything competitive where they have to practice over and over again to become good. Gymnastics here though- they literally ask me every night before bed how many more days until they can go back. Thank you NorthEast!

This gym was not just a place to learn gymnastics it was a place to develop life long friendship, support, and growth in and outside of the sport. The staff at Northeast not only care about teaching quality gymnastics they care about creating a positive environment in which to grow in all aspects of ones life. if anyone ever asks if I know a quality gym I always tell them Northeast Gymnastics Academy! It's worth every penny especially when you know they are teaching far more then just gymnastics, they are teaching, leadership, confidence, and goal setting.

Difficult to be able to get specialist appointments in less than a year. The staff and check-in girls are always very sweet and helpful. Sometimes it is difficult to obtain a new specialist Dr. if your current doctor leaves the Geisinger network. I'm still waiting months for a new pulmonologist and an appointment with a nephrologist. The doctors nurses and staff work well together. They try very hard to diagnose your issue, but sometimes they just don't have the answers you're looking for. Also, a former employee was stealing patients information and I just so happen to be one of those patients. Worried about where that information wound up. I spend a lot of time in geisinger facilities and most of them are always very clean bright and open. And now they have a kiosk where you can check yourself in which I personally enjoy so I no longer have to speak my personal information out loud against a plexiglass shield.

Pain management treats patients as customers. One size fits all. A complete lack of Empathy. I believe Dr Ness runs this department. I remember my first visit with Ness. A consult a few years ago. He left the room after becoming irritated with my doubts and questions. Very poor patient skills. His inability to relate or communicate. My second encounter with Ness the appointment was ended before my visit. I was dismissed because I could not and would not put a pain number on myself. Two appointments with Ness and same results …zero! Also Dr Ness presented himself as the intake nurse. He did not identify himself as the Dr. Days later I received a message stated Im banned from the clinic I noticed his photo as the man who I spoke with. The only interaction was between he and I. This man is a horrible Doctor in my 2 visits.. ***update 2-29-2024. Still banned from Geisinger South. Made my complaint known again. Geisinger doubled down on Backing up Dr Ness and his lackluster performance and ability. Thank god I didn’t get more injections. Turns out Dr Ness the one trick pony cant fix appendicitis with injections. Maybe if he could have talked to me off the screen as a person and not just checking boxes in the computer. Ive had several Doctors in my day. Dr Ness ranks at the very bottom. And to go back a bit after my first experience with Dr Ness and the feeling of being dismissed and discarded I choose another Dr in his Clinic. He is a bully. Well You won’t bully me Doc!
