As you arrive, 90% of the time the front desk is completely unstaffed. If it is, a young girl with her face glued to her phone’s Facebook wall is there and doesn’t give you the time of day. There is one younger guy that sometimes staffs it and he is personable. There are constant machines down with little tags but will be down months at a time. The interior is not kept up well, particularly in the dressing rooms and pool areas. Today there was a really loud fan squeaking as it had for our last few visits. Skelton crew happy to take our money but not invest in their own business. They also allow people to throw and slam weights loud after which the person will yell or scream like an animal that needs to be put out of its misery. Machine campers galore. Rethink the is place if you’re looking for a gym.

In-Shape Brown’s Valley is hands down one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to. It’s tucked away in a peaceful, nice neighborhood, far from the chaos of shopping centers, which makes it the perfect place to focus on fitness. The gym itself is always clean and well-equipped with top-notch machines and gear for all types of workouts. What truly sets this place apart are the people. The employees are incredibly friendly and approachable, always ready to help or answer questions with a smile. They create such a positive atmosphere that you actually look forward to coming in. On top of that, the members here are just as great—everyone is respectful and supportive, which makes it a comfortable space for anyone, no matter your fitness level. If you’re looking for a gym that combines great facilities, amazing staff, and a welcoming community, In-Shape is the place to be!

I’m so disappointed in this gym. It used to be well kept, very little equipment issues, clean, great service but the past 6 months it’s completely failed its members. Almost EVERY treadmill is broken and has a sign. I’m constantly waiting for A machine no matter what time I come because there’s only 8 that work properly. The pool and sauna temperature is very low. I wish the company cared more to service their machines because it’s a great gym but has a lot of short comings.

90% of the treadmills are ancient and half the treadmills are broken and there's almost always a wait to use the leg machines because there's only like 2 of each type and one of them was broken for a whole month. At the end of the day, it's a gym and its fine but some attention to the quality of the gear and availability of machines would go a long way

Here’s the truth after going to this gym for over a year. Everything they say they are going to fix or improve takes 3x as long as it they say or it should. Simply put its poorly run. There was a time where there were more stairmaster machines that were broke then working. They also said with ZERO heads up the weight room would be closed from 8/3 to 8/7. It is 8/10 and the weight room is still CLOSED. Completely dysfunctional and the reason I have to carry multiple memberships in town. I wanted to update this review. It’s now September and the steam room has been closed for a week. And multiple equipment broke for over 2 weeks.

This is the first gym I've joined where I feel like I truly belong. It's always clean, usually quiet, and no "gym bro" vibes at all (iykyk). The equipment is well maintained and the pools are fabulous. I love doing my post-workout cooldown in the lap pool (cardio and literally cooler) and then spending a little bit of time in the spa to work on sore muscles. It's a great way to start my day.

I had a very disappointing experience with the hiring process at Active Wellness. After a phone interview, I was invited to a sit-down interview scheduled for Thursday at 3:00 PM. However, the company waited almost a full week before informing me—just one day before my scheduled interview—that the position had already been filled. While I understand that these things happen, it was frustrating that they didn’t reach out sooner. What made it worse was that the notification came via email, rather than a phone call or even a text message, which would have been more professional and considerate. A last-minute cancellation after waiting for days felt disrespectful and disorganized. Communication is key, and unfortunately, this experience left me feeling undervalued and overlooked. I hope they improve their communication and hiring processes in the future!

Not particularly family friendly. Access to pools is very limited and children center is not always staffed, like the hours say. Staff friendliness is hit or miss, depending when you go. Weekends are definitely friendlier. A lot of older clients that swim during family hours and do not like kids in the pools. Some have been very nice though and have vocalized their support of us being there. My kids love the pools though and are still learning to swim. It’s pricey, but I don’t mind paying more if it’s accessible. I pay $185 a month for me and my two girls so for that cost I have high expectations, which unfortunately this place has not delivered on. I’m sure they won’t like my review, but it’s honest and their bigger concern should be maintaining that contract with Northbay because the current model is not working.

I had a membership at Orangetheory in Vacaville back in 2019. Eventually everything closed down in 2020 and just never ended up going back. I’m in the military now so I live out of state where I recently re signed up with Orangetheory last month. While on leave for the holidays I came back to my hometown here in Vacaville and worked out frequently at OTF Vacaville again. I appreciate the welcoming feeling and coaches and staff and workouts were great. I’ll stop by for more workouts next time I’m in town. Thank you so much Orangetheory vacaville :)

I’ve been working out at Orangetheory Fitness Vacaville since late 2018. I’m so glad I added it to my fitness routine because their workouts are fun, challenging, and motivating. The coaches are awesome and the workouts are different every day. I’ve definitely seen improvements in my strength and endurance.

I love the classes and encouragement I get during my workouts. I think it’s a great place for all fitness levels because the coaches always give many options. And if you have an injury or restrictions they make modifications for you as well so you can still participate and get a great workout. I had a wrist injury in the past and they made it still possible for me to workout. I absolutely love it here!

I love that I just show up and the workout is already planned out for me, no thought involved on my side. The workouts are always fun and challenging. I love the challenges, benchmarks, and events they have throughout the year to test our fitness level and see our improvements. Love all our coaches and the friendly environment in the studio. It is my happy place!

Karen is great! She worked with me to find a reasonable membership that works for me. The gym makes good use of its space and has a decent collection of machines, free weights, and open work areas.

I deducted one point because I’m still waiting for some new equipment to be added, which is not a reflection on the manager at all. I think Karen is fantastic, probably the best manager they’ve had since I’ve been here. I’m reaching out to corporate to request an upgrade of the equipment while keeping the older machines maintained. Given that we pay an annual maintenance fee, I believe this should be a priority. In particular, I’d love to see more hamstring machines, a hack squat machine, and a different type of hip thrust machine. The current one tends to pinch my lower back due to its angle. Many of the other AF locations I’ve visited have excellent hip thrust machines that I really enjoyed using. Ultimately, if they can add the missing equipment, I’d love to cancel my other gym memberships and keep this one. Right now, I have multiple memberships because of the equipment that’s lacking here.

I like this place. It’s barely enough equipment, but what they have is in good shape and a large variety. The place is always super clean and their client is chill. The staff is cool, Friendly and super respectful. I’m about to move to Thailand in November and I think they have affiliates over there. I hope so..

I absolutely LOVE this gym! I’ve been to other gyms in the past and this gym is the best! I love the care and attention Frank gives us. He is able to modify movements for every level to insure everyone succeeds. The classes are small so it feels like we have our own personal trainer. Frank is knowledgeable and funny. If you are looking for a gym I would definitely recommend Fortitude Fitness! He offers a week free trial and his rates are super reasonable. Check it out!
