Best Gym near Summit, New-jersey

Very poor, disappointing, and unprofessional service across all levels, including the general manager of the site. I was promised to receive two FREE personal training sessions and a $100 gift card if i commit to a 1-year membership. However, not only did i NOT receive the gift card 2 months later but also I ended up with a $180 charge after my second personal training session (that was supposed to be free). It took multiple emails/calls back and forth to finally reverse their fraudulent $180 charge from my credit card and receive the $100 gift card I was originally promised. They were trying to avoid by all means giving me what I was simply promised before i signed the contract. I would highly recommend not believing anything they promise to give you with a membership, they want to lock you in with the contract and then will treat you very poorly. Check the contract thoroughly before you sign and try to explore all other gyms in the area before you commit to a 1-year of poor service with Equinox.

They keep messaging and calling to make you join the facility and when you do join and fell into the year contract, you cannot cancel it. Person named Julio kept calling, texting me to join. They gave me a month trial which I joined but didn't got a chance to go. They cut the first month charge, which was still fine. I told them to cancel it but then came forward the 1 year contract that I signed mysteriously hidden, when I signed for the facility. Who thinks before joining the gym, that It will be a year contract and you cannot cancel it? I already live 21 miles away from the gym. Now they demanding a written note from doc. that I cannot go to gym or a document saying I relocated to 25miles away. We don't have time to deal with such matters when it comes to gyms. PLEASE AVOID EQUINOX AS A GENERAL, BECAUSE IF YOU SIGN UP FOR IT AND BY CHANCE YOU HAVE TO CANCEL, YOU WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THIS TROUBLE. PLENTY OF OTHER FACILITIES TO GO TO.

This gym provides everything I need, good variety of group classes, cheerful coaches and nice crowd of people there. I rarely had to wait for a machine, even during the busiest time, people are always considerate, and the vibe is super positive. Plus, the Pilate mats always smell good with the essential oils they sprayed on. I truly enjoyed working out there. Highly recommend the company to open more locations in NJ!

I’ve been a member at this equinox for 7 years and have really enjoyed it. The yoga, Pilates, and “Best Stretch” classes are my favorite and the salt water pool is the best for recovery. The spa is also unmatched!

This is a great place to workout. It’s always clean, the staff are very professional, informative & friendly, the yoga classes were great! Jason, one of the managers, has always been very accommodating providing us guest passes for our sons when they were home from college. Loved seeing not just men but women too, passionate about getting fit, doing deadlifts, presses, etc…

I’ve had a fantastic experience at Summit YMCA! The staff are always pleasant and welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. The gym is consistently clean and well-maintained, which creates a great environment to work out in. My younger son also attends swimming lessons here, and he absolutely loves it! The instructors are patient and skilled, making it a fun and positive learning experience for him. Additionally, the sauna is a perfect way to relax after a workout – it’s always clean and provides a peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a top-notch fitness experience!

Our family has been a member of the Summit YMCA for over two decades. It is gratifying to support this organization, and also take advantage of their state of art facility and services. Dorian Jackson is a tremendous ambassador and dear family friend. He is a huge piece of our commitment to this organization. The place is spotlessly clean, and the staff is warm and friendly. The Y is a great gym. It recently underwent an extensive renovation. It also provides a welcoming and friendly communal atmosphere for Summit and nearby residents.

i enrolled my two daughters here for summer camp. one of them got sunburn because they "forgot" to assist her in reapplying sunscreen. i called and left a voice message with the director and I'm still waiting for a call back. the best they could do is apologize via email. Do not be fooled by the "new" look of the building or equipment. the quality of service is poor and they are very disorganized.

I love the yoga classes. The yoga studio is very small and very hot. All the money has only been spent on the lower floors and making the reception prettier but no investment on the top floor. The instructors are wonderful. Please invest some money upstairs.

Very family friendly environment. The staff are warm and friendly, and the facilities are clean. The class offerings from yoga to Zumba to gymnastics to dance to swimming to ESL and kids programs are great. I go at least 5 days a week I have been a member for over 10 years. It is by far the best value for the money. The name, The Connection, lives up to its name, as I have met so many wonderful people there throughout the years.

A mixed review: many staff are nice and caring people who are pleasant to work with, such as the pool lifeguards and the weight room training staff. A problem is parking: there are a limited number of spots, and so users can not combine errands, such as using the facilities and then, say, visiting the Summit library. They will tow your car in a jiffy if that happens.

The Connection after school care program during pandemic is 5 stars and higher !!! Our daughter is safely bussed from school daily. Staff makes sure children are logged on in time for remote learning. Staff is very friendly and engaging when remote learning is over. Our daughter never wants to be picked up. Staff keeps the facility very clean and very safe for the children.

Kathy is the rudest front desk I have ever encountered, which ruined our otherwise great experience at the connection. My son has been coming to the swimming class at this facility since Sep, 2021. Today I took a 30mins walk with him in the stroller from our house and arrived 30mins before our class started. Because I miscalculated the weather therefore under-dressed him, as soon as we arrived, he started shivering and crying saying that he's too cold, in a panic, I took him inside the building and asked Kathy if we could stay until my son warmed up, we promised to wear our masks and stay out of the way but she said no and sent us back to the cold. When we were leaving after the class, I told her, word by word in a very calm voice "I had a shivering and crying 3 years old in my arm and all I asked was a few minutes inside for him to warm up and you said no. it’s a strange time for all of us, I understand there are rules and you have your job to do, I just hope that we could still find some compassion for each other” Kathy’s became so defensive and aggressive “I’m sorry that you couldn’t stay but I don’t appreciate your personal attack!” Seriously?! I asked her where did I exactly attack her? She couldn’t even make her argument properly and started saying that I asked to stay inside for 30mins that’s why she couldn’t let me in, which I had never said! During our 5 minute conversation, Kathy kept interrupted me and brushing me off, she was so disrecptpful and unpleasant. A person like that, not a customer facing at a children’s facility material.

A great community. When I was an Au Pair in 2014 I was member. Normally I used to go to the gym and English classes to improve it. They helped me a lot, I have really good memories from the senior teachers, they were lovely. Thanks!

The is the home field of the world famous premier team, Glenside Park Rangers. The legendary FC has climbed the ranks and has dominated the USLNJ State league. Expect to get slaughtered if your FC comes to play here. They will chew up and digest your teams' morale for breakfast on this most excellent pitch with their world-class play.

The soccer field is in excellent condition, but there is a problem and that is that on the website it says that it is 24 hours, and the lights are turning off at 11:30 at night.

This is an effective, small , with decent parking athletic facility.

My husband and I had the best relaxing time, they are very professional and careful, the area is well organized and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Bryan and Kelisha are very kind, they made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. 100% recommended.

The decision to get stretched weekly by Owen in Summit was arguably one of the best decisions I made in 2024. He is a true master, and I walk out of Stretch Lab feeling like a new man (or at least a middle aged man with a new body). I’m super grateful that a place like this exists.

I’m a month into StretchLab-Summit. I stretch religiously, every morning and every night, for a total of an hour each day every day for the last 25 years ( no matter how much I had to drink or eat that night). But my body started to stiffen in the quads. It was time for professional help. Jorge at Stretch Lab has begun to break down my stiffness as part of the overall intense stretch he gives me. I feel great when it’s over. Plus, the manager Neil is a gem. Highly recommend this place.

I would highly recommend my flexologist Shiv. He’s very knowledgeable, does a great job and is extremely nice as well. As a senior citizen, flexibility is so important. I feel my visits to Stretch Lab are very valuable for my overall health.

My first visit to Stretch lab was awesome! Brandon‘s care and ease with me made the experience so much better than I anticipated, as I am not the most flexible person. Highly recommend!!

Benessere is a magical place. I work with a personal trainer and he is incredible. There is hardly a service I haven't tried. The facials are amazing. The yoga classes are great. The massages are fantastic. This is not your ordinary gym. The atmosphere is truly spa like. It's a mini retreat every time you walk in.

My husband and I can not recommend Benessere enough. The building and spa are so beautiful -- I love taking the stairs up so I can admire the beauty of the building -- the tall ceilings, exposed beams and brick -- and when you get up the spa, you're instantly relaxed. It's covered with 100s of beautiful stones and crystals for purchase, a water feature and a big comfortable couch. My husband and I had fantastic Swedish and Deep Tissue massages from Holly and Natasha and will definitely be back.

Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing and calming facial. Nichole did such an amazing job my skin hasn't felt and looked that good in a long time. She is so kind and knowledgeable when it comes to skin care and gave me tips that work for my skin in particular. She is the absolute best!

If you are struggling to find an esthetician I highly recommend Nicole. Very knowledgeable, kind, understanding. She is very passionate about what she does and it shows. I was dealing with some skin issues for a few months and with her tips and recommendations my skin has healed and improved within a week. You are the best Nicole!

I cannot recommend Benessere highly enough!!! My whole family goes to this fabulous wellness center and spa. Colin is an excellent personal trainer. Each client is treated as a distinct individual. He works extremely well with me, my husband and our teenage daughter. Lori is an equally-talented masseuse. Whether it is a massage for relaxation or to help with a particular troublesome area, Lori always makes me feel great. My daughter and I also use Benessere's other spa services. Melissa is a favorite for her excellent waxing and facials. Thanks, Benessere!
