This Retro is just okay. My biggest complaint is there’s no warm-up/cool-down/stretching/abdominal area. The front area to the side is the only space but it’s way too small of an area and packed with machines. People often walk over, get frustrated and walk away. Please reorganize it and free up some floor space. Get rid of or move the step equipment, rowing machines and the huge pulley weight machine (that is not the place for it, it’s away from all the other machines). Keep the ellipticals, ab machines, free weights, yoga mats. In general, there’s too much equipment in the gym and it’s all very close together. I don’t even mind too much that the machines are old. There are too many treadmills. They’re never all being used. It would be much better if you reorganized the place a bit, edited the equipment, cleaned a little better including the machines and yoga mats, and increased the air circulation (some days it's seriously rank in there and while I appreciate the doors being open to get fresh air, you know because of germs and all, it’s not enough and it’s often warm in there). The good things are the employees are nice, it's fairly priced, has all the equipment you need, people wipe down machines, it’s not a scene and it has pretty good hours (though should be open later on weekends). Thanks.

Used this gym over the summer. Staff is pretty friendly. Biggest complaint is the age of the equipment. Most of it works. But many of the numbers are fading away, the grips are wearing, and the treadmills still have the original iPod ports. A lot of it probably should have be replaced years ago. They stay open until 11:00 on weekdays, which is better than a lot of gyms, but midnight would be even better. Update: I had significant difficulty canceling my membership and was charged for an extra month. When I initially signed up, a staff member informed me I could cancel over the phone. However, when I called to cancel, I was told it had to be done in person. Since I was out of state and unable to cancel in person, they suggested I mail a letter, which I did. Despite this, I was still charged for the extra month. Overall, I found the process to be unethical and lacking in understanding. I would recommend looking into other gyms in the area.

This retro fitness is a no-nonsense gym, just a bunch of great members there to get their work in and not clog up machines and equipment. No selfie sticks, no ego lifters, nobody trying to pick up a date. And pretty much everyone respects the idea of wiping things down and put things back where they belong. It gets a little more packed in the summer when LBI picks up but they have great hours which allows you to avoid the crowds. And the staff is great, making sure the place stays in order and organized and so friendly as they greet you on the way in.

Would give zero stars if I could. I have a premium membership so I can go to the gym wherever I travel and since I didn’t have my barcode they wouldn’t let me in the gym because it’s not my “home gym” and apparently shows my membership is cancelled but if you go on my account online it clearly shows my home gym is this one. Great service. EDIT: I just got a check in notification when I got home and got 1 point. What a joke 🤣

Raised the price of their day pass from $10 to $20…which is the price for a month of membership! Equipment is not nice enough for that. Everything is old, yoga mats are falling apart, etc. I used to come every so often when I visit my family but at that price I won’t be returning.

I like this gym but the deferred maintneance is starting to add up. There are a lot of old machines that are out of order and have been for awhile. A lot of machines are missing a small part or 2 that impacts the useability. One stepper is currently missing the button for one of the "emergency stops". Management needs to realize that they need to fix these small items(which really wouldn't cost much) and replace or remove broken equipment that will never be fixed.

Many members enjoy using the sauna. It has been down for what has to be 6 months and nobody has an answer to when or if it’s going to be repaired.

Best health club in the area. I have a women's membership. The women's area is always clean and quiet. The big gym looks nice too, but the women's gym suits my needs perfectly.

I’ve been coming here for a few months and I like it. It’s huge, lots of space and equipment, nice staff, decent members, fairly priced. They have an app now, too!

After being a member for 15 years and having multiple memberships for family members and myself, I canceled due to COVID because I was not comfortable going back and working out with a mask and I did not have the money to throw away on freezing the membership for an extended amount of time . I felt that when things calmed down with the pandemic I would return to the gym. I called and spoke to the owner who I know for 15 years. I explained my concerns. He told me that he was looking for loyalty and basically if I’m not keeping my membership it freezing my membership (basically giving him money) I was not being loyal to him. He then told me to find another gym when I am ready to return. I guess 15 years and spending more than $15,000 is not being loyal . Once you stop putting money in his bank account I guess your not considered a loyal customer any more.

My son and daughter just started training there for basketball with Mr. Bucci. I'm amazing at how much time he spent talking and explaining what their plans were with my kids. Their knowledge and the way they interact with the children is refreshing. If you choose to train here, the only way it will go is that the kids will get better and have more confidence. Thank you, JET!

Since my daughters started going to TNT, I’ve noticed a huge difference in their strength and endurance. The programs that Ted runs are second to none. One of my daughters is now wrestling in college and the other is training for softball and wrestling. She also just competed in her first powerlifting event and took first place. Ted makes sure these kids are prepared for whatever challenges lie ahead and not only does it help with their physical abilities, but their mental game as well. Ted has taken time out of his personal schedule to offer advice to my daughters when they have had issues with sports and has given them great advice. I love that they know they can turn to him whenever they need advice. If you want a great place to bring your athletes, I wouldn’t hesitate to bring them to Ted and TNT Strength and Conditioning.

TNT has been a fantastic place for my son to not only build strength but to also build confidence. Coach Ted has been influential in guiding, challenging, developing and striving for overall best results in strength, form and confidence. And he always delivers with a positive message! His knowledge and passion are unmatched!

TNT is the best place to grow as an athlete and as a person. Coach Ted is one of the most educated coaches that I have worked with throughout my entire athletic career. He strives to make us athletes more confident in the weight room, build our strength, and condition us for our sports. He makes modifications to make sure we practice proper technique and stand clear from injury. Coach Ted also pushes us athletes to our highest possible level with “credit” opportunities and the use of unique lifting equipment. I would recommend this place for an athlete beginning their strength and conditioning aspect of their career, a high school or college athlete who wants to enhance their performance, and anyone who is willing to work hard and feel good.

TNT has been fantastic for my boys! Coach Ted is not only knowledgeable but also supportive and genuinely invested in helping young athletes reach their full potential. He combines expertise with a personalized approach , ensuring each session is challenging and fun. TNT has become a place where both my boys look forward to going, Ted has truly created a family like community at TNT. I highly recommend for all athletes looking to grow.

Ted has trained my son for about 5 years. He went from just the “big guy” on the football team to “wow that big guy can move”! TNT is more than just a gym, it’s a family, for not only the athlete but their parents also. My son has become an American record powerlifter under the training of Ted and is well known in the NJUSAPL. Ted genuinely cares about each and every athlete that trains with him. If you are looking for athletic training and want someone who truly cares, then TNT is the place for you!

My son and his teammates have been doing agility, strength & conditioning training here for 6 months and the results have been amazing for their athleticism & confidence. Nico and his staff are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and very motivating for young athletes. It is hard work, but the kids enjoy it and love going.

I have been going to Nico Locandro at Local Motion for Physical Therapy on my surgically repaired knee. Having been to other therapists where the therapist may physically work with you for say 10-15 minutes of the hour of your appointment, at Local Motion Nico works with you one-on-one for a full 60 minutes. With Nico’s education and experience, he has improved the mobility of my knee tremendously in the minimum amount of sessions I have seen him. With Nico’s added experience as a trainer in the NFL, he has techniques and methods that the average PT person does not have in their skill set. Local Motion and Nico Locandro deserve 10 Stars. ⭐️

Amazing workout! Happy that Nico not only came up with a challenging workout, but that he also focused on proper form for each station. It wasn’t about who finished first or who did the most, but that we were all doing the exercises correctly to avoid unnecessary injury- super thankful for that attention to detail! Thanks Nico

The space is clean, bright , and has all the basic tools and exercise modes but , but also advanced machines and techniques including needling, electric stim, etc needed to train and rehab.. Dr Nico is thorough, down to earth , listens , and takes the time to find out what is going on with your life, your specific body , and what he and you need to do to address the situation. I’ve suffered for a long time and though we’re just getting started unwinding my injury and addressing the pain and problems he has already given me hope for a better future , got me into a better mindset to be able to rehab and get back to enjoying life . Do not hesitate to stop in/ contact them !

My daughter, Adrianna, is a goalkeeper with Phoenix Elite. She has had the most incredible experiences with the field hockey team. She has learned new strategies for clearing a ball; she has learned a variety of ways to dive and block; and she has learned the importance of stretching, strengthening, and conditioning. With Phoenix Elite, her confidence as a goalkeeper has soared. Not only has she befriended so many teammates around the county, but through Phoenix Elite, she has found an even deeper passion for the sport and the position that she loves. She has had the opportunity to network with and meet with many college coaches, but she has also been equally excited to share her new knowledge with younger goalkeepers. Phoenix Elite has been an integral part of our daughter's field hockey experience, and we anticipate an exciting spring/summer season as we look forward to many tournaments and showcases. ❤️🏑😊

Do not waste your time or money! Terrible communication, excludes players from tournaments, and does not provide the training promised when registering.
