Best Gym near Smyrna, Tennessee

I have been going to this YMCA off and on for the last 10 years. I really enjoy the upstairs track, the pool, and the fun classes. The friendly environment, especially seeing people sitting and chatting with each other, is a very positive atmosphere and helps energize me.

I love this gym. It’s perfect and very family oriented! However! I do NOT like being harassed in the women’s bathroom by the custodians when my daughter ( 7 ) is with me. They tell me when HAVE to use the family bathroom. I pay to much money to HAVE to use a bathroom that’s full of men and boys. I will continue to use the LADIES restroom with my daughter.

The staff is so positive and encouraging. Even the door greeters smile and notice you upon entry. Registration for membership was flawless and no extra hidden fees were assessed as in other gyms. The scheduled times of the group classes have been varied enough to establish a good workout routine in the early morning, so consistency in getting fit has been easy to maintain. In general, the warm, clean environment makes membership a pleasant experience.

Location is way too small for the crowd that attends. It’s really hard to understand the amount of money this place generates from members but can’t keep up with maintenance and renovations to expand the location due to not enough workout equipment. It’s frustrating when you want to use certain equipment but you cannot and have to work around others and wait turns until available. The SAUNA & STEAM room has been down for over a month and this is the main reason for attending the ymca to utilize those areas. Was told 3 different dates it’ll be ready and nothing. The amount that we pay as a family and can’t use certain equipment due to the heavy crowd and Sauna & Steam room not available is preposterous and unacceptable. We will be cancelling our membership if this does not get resolved.

Negative experience… still really dirty.. (may not have cleaned the mens locker room since last year! I have been to this place so many time- been coming here for years… I even had a membership here at this location. It has always been very dirty/unsanitary in the showers/ sauna, but I have always met some great people in the gym!. (Ive been traveling the world for years hitting all the golds gyms all through the US!) this one in Smyrna is different… Today I showed up to workout and the front desk pulled up all my info including address, pictures, old info ect. and told me that today they wanted to keep my drivers id… Very wierd. When I asked why, there was no real reason… i felt uncomfortable that they wanted to keep my id (when they have everything already..) - that being said, i will not come back to this place. Come on Golds - how much info do you need on people!?!? - probably selling everyones info to the world!? Ps : i am ranking it a 2 instead of a 1 only because I have met a few people here that I will always be able to grow with… (nothing really to do with the gym itself

The gym is a joke. At any time there’s probably 6 machines broken. Weight stacks on cable machines are all missing the weights on them. They’re also missing half of the pins for the stacks. The place is a mess with weights and dumbbells everywhere. I’ve brought it multiple issues to the people up front and they just wave off the issues. Save your money and go to a different gym. For this amount monthly it should be nicer, but it isn’t. They also suffocated their fish for at least a day, not sure how many died. But they definitely don’t care.

Gold's Gym has been absolutely terrible when it comes to how they handle their PT clients. I was told one thing at sign up and when it came time to cancel the service was told something completely different. There is no one to speak with on the phone, email is the only means of communication. No one is of assistance at the actual location. Just all around terrible and would not recommend! Please save yourself the headache and go somewhere else!

This gym has all opportunity to be one of the best in the area but this gym is very neglect.The dumbbells are without any doubt the most important equipment in any gym like every other gym equipment. This gym management doesn't maintain gym equipment besides that gym is dirty no hand soap and paper towels in the toilets look like gym management and gym owners just don't care they just like to collect maintenance fee from members. I truly hope this review get to gym owners attention and they improve gym condition.

Great gym. Machines are out of order a lot, but the crowds aren't bad, the place is huge, the hours are good, price is right, and barbells don't go out of order. :) The reviews about general disrepair of the place and no one re-racking their weights are accurate however.

We went here for a kid's birthday party. All of the kids were around 4-5 years old, and there was about 15 kids there and 4 people working. The people working, especially the person leading, did an excellent job with the kids! My kiddo had a lot of fun at the party playing "the floor is lava", jump house, obstacle course, foam pit, and parachute. Now we're looking to maybe have our kiddo start classes here, that's what we thought of it.

What's not to love about ETC Gymnastics! It's Family, my daughter has been going to ETC for almost four years and she loves it. The coaches are kind, friendly and are vested in really teaching the children. My daughter does Advance Tumbling with Coach Dean and All Stars with Coach Hannah, which are both phenomenal coaches!!! They offer All Star Meets for your little ones to compete and show off their skills. I highly recommend ETC Gymnastics, my daughter has learned so much and gained strength, friendships, discipline, and confidence.

My 4 yo absolutely loves her Big Dipper class! Her instructors (Olivia & Jackson) are so positive, helpful, and genuinely have fun with the kids. Highly recommend!!!

This gymnastics is so bad I hate to tell u this but they do not even teach your kids the right thing

My daughter has been here about 6 weeks. She loved it and the teacher seemed great. She is 5 and gymnastics is new to her so at one of the classes she got upset because she was afraid to do one of the flips by herself. The teacher ignored it. Did not encourage or help her. The next class she was doing one of her stations and hurt her arm. The teacher again ignored it and sent her out hysterically crying. A comment was made in front of another parent to the front desk that she did not need an ice pack and was being dramatic. The teacher never once came and let me know what happened or made sure my child was okay. We are withdrawing immediately.

I went in to simply inquire about the silver sneakers program and was treated like an idiot. The middle aged woman that "assist" me came to the door and was like can we help you as if I were trespassing. Their doors are confusing and they are no help, a bald man at a desk watched me struggle. Basically not welcoming or ADA friendly, it's a small location anyway and they don't seem to care to grow membership, as knowledge and help are absent i don't care how close it is ill stay at crunch.

I came in for my first time to get a tour and Michelle was great - she gave me a quick and detailed tour. The facility is clean, well organized, and contains a variety of equipment.

Enjoy stopping by this gym, especially since it's right next to an industrial park. (Easy parking for truckers). It's very clean and has plenty of updated equipment.

Always clean. Not too big, but I has all that one needs to get a good workout. I like have free sweat towels everyday. I've been coming for seven years.

I love that we can use this facility I only wish they would invest in some better equipment but hell it's free and gets the job done. Thanks to all the personnel that run the fitness center.

I've only been coming to Tru360 for a little over a month now, and I absolutely love it. I had pretty much given up on other group class studios, because every class is the same, they cost a fortune, and I could give myself good workouts at home for free, but it was boring. I found Tru360 and couldn't pass up the variety of classes and the price point, so I tried it out, and now I'm completely hooked! The trainers are awesome, everyone is super nice, and I love being able to try all sorts of classes and challenge myself differently each time I come in. 100% recommend this place!

I drive from Mt. Juliet since they offer great classes at wonderful times. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. They offer a variety of classes so i can kickbox one day and take a yoga class another day. I always feel welcomed by the instructors who encourage me to get the most from my workouts.

As a newcomer to any kind of fitness classes, I can say this has been great experience. The classes are not too big and instructors as well as students have been very encouraging. I look forward to trying new classes with more experience.

We were happy with our results but the lack of communication at the end of our 8 weeks was really bad. We had 2 sessions left and just heard that we were moving out of state. The funny thing is in the very beginning, he told us that they schedule all sessions up front because they book quickly. But that never happened. No effort from our trainer to schedule our sessions at the end of our 8 weeks. We tried contacting him but nothing ever happened. And the way he handled it was very unprofessional. The communication wasn't very good throughout entire 8 weeks. I don't know what happened but they lost us as a client for good. Also, i'm not sure if it was because i am a woman and he is uncomfortable training women, but he was constantly on his phone during my sessions. I didn't like that. I thought it was rude. My husband had his full attention during his sessions. Who knows. People are crazy. The progress overall was great and worth the price.

The BEST staff, facility and members anywhere. The positive atmosphere from Tru360Fit has been there from the day I started and remains one of the main reasons I continue to go. They helped realize my true potential and have made me stronger, mentally and physically. You feel like family, not just another client.

Such a welcoming place! They have volleyball and baseball. Clinics, leagues, and private lessons are offered and renovations are being done to the facility and parking lots. Great improvements!

Good volleyball and basketball facility on the Southside of Smyrna Tennessee. Not exactly high-end but safe and clean place for kids to play ball.

Admin Coordinator wrote the best review, and trying to rent the gym out is impossible these days, and the floors are never swept/polished, no readiness for use at all, complete waste. Definitely needs a team reconstruction from inside out.

This is a great place for softball pitching lessons for young girls!

Love our trainer but the facility could use some updating especially the plumbing lately its been a really weird smell. Everyone is nice. Im hoping some updates in the new future
