Best Gym near New-braunfels, Texas

Decent equipment selection. Clean facility. Staff continue to restrict more and more equipment from member use. Reserving it only for their “golds fit” groups. It’s my opinion, that a member should have access to all equipment, since the member is paying $40 a month to use the facility. Restricting equipment prevents members from growing in fitness. This is the worst part about this facility in my opinion. And causes me frustration during every visit.

So sad to see how the employees don’t care about their members. It’s so hard to find a gym that has a good childcare facility and to find one that does and to come to realize that they do not watch over the kids is an absolute bummer. I witness an employee just lay back on the chair while seeing some kids fight over in the floor and not even bother to see if the kids were okay and immediately got mad at the kids. I hate watching stuff like this because at the end of the day if you are a parent you want to make sure your kids are okay. To the child care employees (Arisa or whatever her/their name is) please try to care a little bit more about your job.

There is the iron you need here! Thanks guys. This is the place where you can relax and unwind. We live in a time where everything has long been rotten in lies and flattery. In this room you will find everything to work with your physical and mental mood. I like this network for their simplicity and classics. Nothing superfluous, just old school and motivation to achieve results. I found here what I was missing. I just really want to be let in with my subscription to Black. Thank you.

I was thoroughly disappointed with my brief experience going to this gym. I went several years ago when it opened and it was better. I decided to try it out for a secondary gym. Just going a couple days a week. I signed up for the month to month because it was $1 to sign up which made way more sense than they’re super expensive day pass, and then all of their equipment is really old and worn down. Missing screws and loose or broken, I was not impressed with the equipment at all with as much money as they make from what they charge people you would think that they would update their equipment.. I decided to cancel my membership on October 2 or 3rd and I had to go in person and fill out a form to cancel it. I had just been charged $43 for the month-to-month membership that I signed up for and then they told me I was still going to be charged again on Oct 25th for another month because I didn’t give 30 days notice. So then I was expecting another $43 charge and I got an email saying that it was going to be $75 so I went into the Gym again to inquire why I have this $75 bill. They informed me that there is a yearly fee of $53 plus the $43 that they are still gonna charge me after I canceled and if I didn’t pay it, they were going to send it to collections! So I had just to pay $97 to cancel my gym membership. This was very deceiving of Golds Gym and I do not recommend getting a gym membership with Golds Gym. I will never go back to Golds Gym

I work in other states due to my job, but my home is in this area so I always come back to this gym. First time I’ve ever encountered a collection agency coming after me for unpaid gym membership when I had cancelled back in april/may IN PERSON due to relocating again. When I called and asked to speak to the manager, the associate working stated GM Tim was unable to come to the phone but said he would call me back within 24 hours. A month later and nothing. My wife who still lives in the area went to the gym and Tim refused to speak to her as well about this situation. I know he’s new because the last GM that was there was friendly and attentive and he would’ve never done this sort of thing. Very unprofessional. To say the least I will never come back to this golds gym. I’m having my wife cancel her membership as well and go to a place that is actually managed by a REAL manager.

Stopped in today for a day pass and left feeling appreciated and welcomed! Staff was welcoming. Equipment was functional. Gym goers were friendly. And to top it off, I had a great workout! If you’re having doubts, don’t. This is the gym to be at!

I been going to this gym since early 2000’s and after all these years it’s still the best gym in NB! A great family owned local business with a lot of space and a good variety of equipment and free weights. Whether you’re just starting out or serious and training for an upcoming meet you will find others here to relate too. The environment is always positive with a small town feel. You can’t get this kind of atmosphere at a corporate gym so come out and join the American Fitness family.

Very good experience. Came in for a day pass and left feeling really good about the gym as a whole. Staff were helpful and enthusiastic, loved the variety of machines, and the space was very clean and well maintained. The music was outdated and distracting, meaning I had to go and get my headphones but overall it wasn't a big deal. Would recommend going here.

Great gym and atmosphere. The staff is great and you can tell there is a sense of community/identity within the gym. There is plenty of equipment of all types and I’ve never had to wait for something. We switched from Golds for this reason. Another great thing is their guest policy. It’s great for when friends are in town. They can grab a workout and it doesn’t cost 1/2 of a full month’s price like every other gym.

I travel full time and got a two week pass here. Fantastic gym. Clean, larger than the photos show and has everything. Highly recommend if you’re local or just traveling through.

This place is the best! all three of my boys train here and it’s like family. Coach Kaylee and coach Michael are two of the most lethal/loving people in combat sports! I highly recommend SBG for the entire family! It’s not just training how to choke someone out. It’s training discipline and self control for your children. At least come check it out they offer a 1 hour free trial explorer class! Do it!

SBG New Braunfels provides the perfect environment for anyone looking to train BJJ. The open atmosphere is conducive to children and adults, beginners who are interested in self defense training or BJJ and experienced individuals looking to continue their training. They have a developed curriculum for children focused on life skills and BJJ techniques, aimed at producing well rounded children both on and off the mats. They have a variety of classes specializing in kickboxing, yoga, and weight training. One of the highlights of this gym is its ladies only class / open mat! My family started our BJJ journey in this gym over 2 years ago. We love our SBG family. We cannot recommend SBG New Braunfels enough!

Best decision we’ve made for my 9 year old. They teach him to be respectful and to be disciplined while at the same time having a great time! The coaches are great ive seen a big improvement in my son’s confidence. Definitely recommend all kiddos to join SBG New Braunfels.

It was a long day today at work. The heat didn't help, but no matter what. I always need to get the reps in either running miles or hitting the gym, but lately, it has been Jui-Jiu-jitsu in the mix. Life will always challenge you, always test you. This past year has definitely done that to me. This January, I started my BJJ journey. When I met my coach, Michael Heinz, he explained what SBG was, the people involved, from that interaction that day I was in. Of course, I was nervous, intimidated on day one. But the SBG community was very welcoming and showed the way. Each class Coach Michael, Coach Kaylee, and the other coaches break down the details of Jiu-jitsu so you can absorb as much as possible. It is awesome!! Each class keeps you engaged, and I find myself wanting to come back. This past weekend was another layer to solidify me wanting to continue to learn and grow in the sport. I was able to participate in a seminar with my coaches, coach Dr. John Frankl 5th degree black belt. Two days of leg locks. Let me tell you that was another level of breaking down the fine details of leg lock. Literally from the toes on up. Thank you, Coach Frankl, for the amazing seminar. I look forward to the next one. We’ve been coming to SBG since July and already I have seen growth and drive in my son. All of the coaching staff and even the parents were helpful and have been helpful since day one of coming. Things I love about the program - learning through games - values to work on at home My son is locked in currently and has pride in his work. Love it here!! Highly recommend if your looking for a kids program (or even adults if your schedule allows)

I went to Rylee's community ride and not only was Rylee SO fun, encouraging, and pushed us to cycle harder, but everyone in the room and the facility was truly so nice and helpful. As it was my first time, I received help making sure I had the right shoe size and help getting on and off the bike. Everyone involved made this such a great and welcoming experience!

Easily my favorite workout I’ve ever done. I joined two years ago and I wish I had sooner. The instructors and staff are all warm and welcoming and the classes are so fun and upbeat. It’s impossible not to leave in a good mood!

Instructors are all great! Super friendly, they get to know you to make your experience here at CycleBar more personalized and fun!

Enjoyable class, but the enjoyment ended when I almost fell off the bike. Please avoid using the cages before trying cycle bar. The instructor provided me with cages since I have small feet. However the cages are for people with larger feet, not smaller feet. If you have smaller feet, please avoid using the cages to prevent discomfort or accidents.

We love it here! The coaches go above & beyond to meet the needs of their members. They take time to teach the movements & always have alternate options to accommodate for all fitness levels. Group classes can feel intimidating but I really felt welcomed from day one here!

I’ve been a member for a little over a month now and I LOVE IT! The workouts are impactful, coaches are amazing, and everyone makes you feel at home. Taylor is very knowledgeable and ensures that all members always conduct the workouts accurately and safely. There are many movements in CrossFit, and I was truly amazed that at my age I was able to do a workout I had not been able to do in years! All coaches and athletes are motivating, and this gym is truly about giving their members the best workout experience!

I recommend Einhorn CrossFit to anyone and everyone. The coaches are so knowledgeable, they always make sure your form is great before progressing. They have built such a great community, that makes you want to comeback everyday. There is so many different kinds of movements in CrossFit that always keeps it fun, every workout I’ve had there has been incredible. I have been going here for a few months now and I am still amazed how great the coaching is. Some classes have 15-20 people in it and Taylor and all the other coaches will support and push every single person in that class. Because of Einhorn, not only did I gain my health back, I also gained lots of great friends. Thanks y’all, you are a blessing to so many people.

This has been by far the best gym I have ever been to! The staff are super kind and welcoming. They are very supportive and always willing to lend a hand. Also, I love the variety of equipment and free-weights they have to give you an overall great workout. I am so thankful to have been apart of this gym for the time we were here. I 100% recommend this gym for anyone who is looking for their forever gym home!

This is the best gym I’ve been too!! My mom and I train with Abby and she’s the BEST. We may not always be happy to see her but that’s because she pushes us to our full potential when we sometimes don’t want to lol. This gym is the most welcoming gym I’ve been too which makes it easier to go to!

This is an absolutely outstanding gym in every way. There are all age groups and people at different levels of fitness here. I am usually anxious when trying a new gym, but everyone from Jake the owner to all the trainers make you feel welcome. The gym is spotless and the equipment is up to date and never out of order. When my son comes to visit from NYC, where he belongs to some big fancy gym, he always goes here “because, even though it’s smaller, it has everything you would find in a larger gym and the atmosphere is a lot calmer and more welcoming.” Lacey is my trainer and I can’t say enough about how motivational, encouraging and supportive she has been. I am older and have never liked formal exercising or gyms and now I look forward to my training even when it gets more challenging. With my training I was given a body scan, meal plan, exercise plan everything I need to be informed and successful. As a senior I am never intimidated by what I can’t do because Lacey always encourages me where I am and that even the smaller accomplishments are steps in the right direction! So glad I found Hicksons Gym!

Im so happy I finally found a great gym! I started in January 2024 with a goal of losing a few extra pounds. I never worked out or ate healthy a day in my life! 11 months later I'm in the best shape of my life 😊 Not only did I get so much amazing information on nutrition and the correct way to workout from my trainer/owner Jake Hixon but most important, I feel comfortable working out now because there’s no judgment here, just good people that are ready to help if needed! This is my forever gym, whats stopping you from making it yours as well? 😊

My favorite gym. I love the versatility and options that you have a HOTWORX. I’ve referred 9 of my closest friends and they are all enjoying it. It’s 24 hours and very affordable. So far my favorite work outs are Hot Yoga/Pilates, Hot Thunder/Hot Blast and Hot Barre. Jocelyn is my favorite employee so if you’re deciding on joining tell her I sent you.

Hotworx is it amazing corporation with their saunas and work out equipment. open 24/7? Very easy access. I've yet to try yoga; I just find the towel in the mat to be very expensive$100. The staff is very supportive and understanding. I had a complaint about the toilet paper being out two days in a row and that's unacceptable. Management should stay on top of these things and stock toilet paper in the bathroom, not just one roll at a time

My favorite part of my day is coming to HotWorx. It’s clean, great, and challenging in the best way possible. With a toddler and work, HotWorx makes it possible and convenient for me to Earn the Burn!

Best gym ever! I’ve been a member since august and I have enjoyed every minute of my membership here. In love with the 24/7 access, it is always so clean and tidy, and the staff is great! The girls at the front desk are so helpful with any questions you may have and always make me feel so welcome when I come in.

Thoroughly impressed with the level of talent possessed by Erik & Ida who own and run this facility. Started a membership just over a month ago and with Erik's guidance teaching TacFit methods, I am making progress and excited to show up. It isn’t easy, but worth it. Looking at long term gains in strength, mobility, flexibility and the TacFit system is the perfect solution versus regular weight training. Both my wife and I are glad we found Longhorn H&F and know we found the right place for expert level training in bodyweight, kettlebell, club bell, and mace training. All of these train towards real life activity instead of muscle isolation. Update: October 2024, still 5+ stars, working out 3-5x per week, been to several hosted UFC fight events, and other meetups with members. Great community at Longhorn!

I have somebody who struggles with self motivation in a gym by myself, and also due to certain disabilities from spending time in the army. I was looking for something outside of the box and more mobility strength training I found that, and so much more. Esik is by far one of the best people I’ve ever worked with in the fitness world by the second class he had already altered my work out to be more specific to the needs and goals. I told him about on my first class he truly cares about your growth and your health, and will show you things about your body that you didn’t even know and ways to take care of it, that you may not have thought of 10 out of 10 !!!!

Injury free fitness studio is what I love most! I've been to a trainer that cost me a fortune in medical bills after pushing too hard caused an injury. Love that this studio focuses on mobility and has programs for all ages and goals.

I have had lots of physical therapy. Health Link is the best therapy I have had by far. I am doing aqua therapy. I can already tell that I’m getting good benefits from this therapy. My therapist is Ashley. She explains the exercises well and watches to make sure you are using the correct form. She is very conscious of your needs and very knowledgeable about her subject. . On top of all of that, she is a lovely person. Everyone I have come into contact with courteous and supportive. So happy to have found this help.

It's a great physical therapy place. The pool is nice and clean and big! It could be a little warmer for me. Ben is real nice and so are the other therapist. I like it because it's real clean and well-kept and all the people are extremely nice especially Jessica and I can't think of all their names but they were really great!

I love this place. I've been other places and this is the best in staff and the quality of staff. Everyone is friendly, yet professional. My therapist, Alisha is the BEST. I followed her from Schertz to NB and I'm glad I did. It was worth the drive. I will always go back to Alisha and NB.

I've been working out here for several years. Recently I had a 6 months assignment in Austin and temporarily joined a discount fitness center for weekdays. The difference was shocking, I learned to appreciate Healthlink more. I am a little concerned with the decline in memberships, sometimes it is easier to do cardio when the gym is full of others doing cardio. I hope to see the business on the upswing. Great staff, great people, and impeccably clean.

The BEST fitness center that we have ever been to. The greeters make everyone feel welcome and ready for a workout. The classes are like having personal training sessions. Melissa's, Body Scult class is a total body workout. She comes with a well planned routine and a smile on her face. Lilly's Body Scult and Cycle classes are killer. She is a true motivator..."half effort, half results." Veronica is the "plank" queen. Her ab class is the toughest half hour of the week. We love Ruth's ab and TRX classes. She gives great classes all with warmth and kindness. Ruth went above and beyond to find an answer to a question that the corporate office would not respond to. Marilyn and Juju have subbed for several of our classes. They are great too. ALL of these instrictors are different, but they are all always prepared for each class. They are TRUE fitness instructors. While more expensive than most, we HealthLink Fitness as a true investment in us.

I have been with Kristi for over a year now, and she has helped me completely transform not only my body, but my overall health, and mental well-being. I cannot recommend her enough! Go join, you won't regret it!

Have been training at Absolute Fitness consistently since October 2024. I have lost several inches and gained strength. Kristie, our trainer, makes the effort to get to know each person’s goals and opportunities. She has helped me with nutrition and correct supplements to help with digestion and reduce bloating. Best part is the supportive group of women I’ve gotten to know.
