I recently visited the YMCA in Mankato and it was phenomenal. Everyone there helped me check in and showed me where everything was. The locker room was spacious. The gym was very well-organized, with plenty of space despite being close together, which I really liked. I would definitely go back every time I work out. I went to the pool, and they showed me where it was. They offered towels, and the pool wasn’t too deep. There were two big pools—one for swimming and another one for everyone. They also had a hot tub which I enjoyed. I was very impressed that they had a waterslide, although I didn’t get to use it. Nonetheless, it looked amazing, and I had a lot of fun. After my workout, I went to the sauna and it was amazing. It felt so good to relax there. Everything was indoors, and there were various levels and gyms with a lot of different activities available. I also noticed they had a teen week, which I believe was only for a week, but I really liked that they had their own space. My relatives would’ve loved having that available to them. Overall, a fantastic experience!

Staff was very kindan helpful. A plus that they had a basketball court. The facility is a little dated but overall it has the basics for a good workout.

My family and I have been members since 2018, but I am beginning to reconsider. The Y is really beginning to show it's age and it's a real shame so many amenities for children have been removed. Board games/puzzles, kids toys and the ball pit are no longer available in the rec room, and the lounge area has been sectioned off sloppily (The drywall has not been primed or painted and there are no baseboards. It has been this way for months.) from the rest of the rec room, giving it a claustrophobic, closed off feel. The kids gym is starting to fall apart (multiple tears in the netting, leaving the underside and back of the play gym accessible to kids, which could prove hazardous) and there isn't much else for preteen age children who are too old to use it but too young to be unsupervised in the facility to keep themselves occupied. The pool cues, foosballs and ping pong balls all need to be checked out in the lobby, but can only be done so after trading in your phone, keys or Y card, which is a big pain in the butt as they were all freely accessible previously. The pool is a pretty big disappointment too. The slide is almost never running, and the water features are off a solid 90% of the time we've gone swimming. Overall, the Y is in need of a huge overhaul or maybe just a little less marketing towards being a child friendly facility. :(

I have been a member for about a year now and I love the hot tub and swimming pool. The staff always make me feel welcome.. It has now been about 3 years now that I've been a member here and they still make me feel just as welcome as they did when I first began coming here. I know I mentioned the swimming pool and hot tub before, but I have also used a few of the exercise machines that they have to offer in their gym. I definitely recommend this place and to try a few things out sometime. Thanks!!!

I’ve been to many Planet fitnesses through out the US and out of the many I’ve been to I enjoy this one the most. The staff are always friendly and kind and willing to take any equipment or workout questions you may have and they always wish myself and others to have a great workout and a nice day! Besides that management seems wonderful, with keeping the place clean and tidy and making sure everyone is feeling comfortable and happy. I had one small complaint which the manager handled very quickly and made sure I didn’t have any other issues to make sure I was happy. Great place and great people 10/10

Great machine selection, friendly staff, no wait for tanning beds or machines and they are so helpful. Plus the location I use has lots of windows which I love, I am not a fan of gyms being in a basement or lack of windows and being dark. I also like their massage chairs and hydro bed. Very relaxing!

Update: 8/18/2024: For the last week, I have been back to working out after being gone for 2 months due to an incident i was involved in. I noticed most of the staff has changed, bummer. Still, I love coming to this location: plenty of equipment and plenty of space. Love my Mankato Planet Fitness. I signed up with them 8/3/22, and my first workout was on 8/18. I never have been to a gym before in my life, and I had the fear of using one. I knew I had to try due to overall poor health issues and being overweight. Guess what, I should have started a long time ago. Great atmosphere, music playing in the gym, or bring your headphones/earbuds and listen to your own; very clean equipment in great working condition; very open floor plan (many treadmills, ellipticals, two rowing machines, cycles, 3 Smith machines, many dumbbells of varies weights, 3 cable towers, and individual equipment that work your arms, legs, abdominal, back, and glutes); separate Express 30 min workout room (if you want a quick workout); there is a stretch room; and PF 360 room (contains other pieces of equipment besides the standard equipment and dumbbells). Note: There are cleaning stations throughout the gym (paper towels and cleaning sprays): please use them to clean the piece of equipment you just finished with. Thanks!! There are locker rooms for both men and women. Both contain lockers (bring your own lock and must take your stuff after you finish at the gym, no leaving your belongings behind), benches, restrooms, showers (women's has 4, bring your own supplies and towels), and changing stalls (women's has 3). If you are a black card member: this location has 2 massaging chairs, 2 Hydromassage beds, total body enhancement machines, and tanning beds. I have used both the chair and the bed: I love both, especially after a hard workout. The staff is friendly and will answer any questions, comments, and concerns. They can offer to give you a tour of the gym, especially if you are new to the experience. Parking: This gym is located in a plaza with other stores, parking in the early morning is easy but as the day goes on....it can become packed. Truck Drivers: There are no semi truck parking signs in the lot. I have seen bobtails here. Just beware, park at your own risk. I used to park in the rear... no longer allowed because a new business is being built where ShopKo used to be. Can park your bobtail across Sioux St in the other plaza parking lot early morning but it's recommended to be out by 10 am. I have parked my bobtail in Best Buy parking (on the side where the car installation shop is) temporarily (no overnight parking) and walked over to P. F.. I now have a car to use to use on my personal time instead of my big rig. I work out of the local Walmart Distribution Center. Overall: Great gym, staff, equipment, location. Highly recommended!!! Cons: I wish they had longer hours, especially on the weekends: open earlier and stay open later. Also, I wish they had fans in the PF 360 and the 30 min express rooms, no air movement.

Place is kept pretty clean and staff are friendly. I do however have constant issues with the tanning beds either being completely nonfunctional or having multiple bulbs burnt out.

A bank will close your account faster for inactivity then this place will !! You'd think after month 3 of not paying I either don't want to be there anymore or can't afford it 🤷🏼♀️ theyre the pimps of the gym industry!! They'll even get into a verbal altercation with your about you wanting to close Your own account 😅😅.

*WARNING ⚠️ this is going to be a long one⚠️ This is probably the best gym in Mankato. As a plus size women I have so many insecurities when it comes to joining a gym, one of them being heavily overweight. Their customer service is outstanding and their willingness to help you out makes you feel like a VIP member on a basic membership budget lol. I have been going here for a year now and have been a part of their personal training program. I fell out of routine and am now getting back into it. One of the personal trainers that I work with is Jackson, who is willing to meet you halfway. He has made going back to the gym easier. if anyone out there is worried about trying their personal training programs as an overweight individual or is worried about breaking the bank please don't let that be a reason to not try this place. I am working with a tight budget but with the help of Madison and Jackson finding out ways to make it work for me I know that this isn't just another paycheck for them and that they truly care about your well-being and your goals. If personal training is out of your budget I would highly suggest you get their highest membership. Their workout classes are so welcoming and they are so friendly. I could go on and on about this place. Lol Clearly.

Friendly staff was able to get a day pass for $10. I went in around 3:30pm the gym was pretty empty at that time. By the time I left 4:30 the gym was packed. A lot of college kids. They have a lot of equipment basically any exercise can be done. Definitely come back to get a lift in.

Fitness For 10 is a great place for anyone who wants to workout in a friendly and laid-back environment. The staff is incredible and always helpful. The gym is always clean. The equipment is top-notch. I’ll tell anyone who will listen why they should choose Fitness For 10.

I bought a no contract membership and then sadly had to move out of the state for work and called them and emailed them saying I need to cancel my membership and they won't let me cancel the membership. I had to get a new debit card (for other reason) so they can't charge me but they say I owe 60 dollars and keep calling me almost everyday for a mebership, I never used, and TRIED TO CANCEL.

I’ve been a member of Anytime Fitness since about 2018 and this location is by far the best gym I’ve been a member at. The new location is very nice and well taken care of by the amazing staff. The manager works really hard and cares deeply about the members. This gym has a great community and atmosphere that I’m happy to be apart of. I have made awesome connections through this gym and so have a lot of other members as well. I will always recommend this gym!

I was disappointed about the lack of social interaction opportunities with other members at the gym. It is not a welcoming and inclusive environment for members to connect and make friends. The owner prohibits members from talking to each other. This policy negatively impacted my experience and made it difficult to engage in normal gym conversations with others or build a sense of community within the gym. This policy creates a challenging environment for newcomers who are trying to integrate into the gym community for the first time. Also, disappointed how myself and others were falsely accused by the management. The importance of fair treatment and respectful communication from the management team is not what this club represents. False accusations can harm the trust and credibility of the gym and should be addressed promptly and appropriately.

I loved that Anytime moved to a bigger space almost two years ago. The space itself is one thing and the cleanliness of the gym is another! The manager there right now, Kourtney has been nothing but great. From the old gym to the new gym, she has been big help. She greets as people come in, interacts with the members, and is super friendly. There has been times that I have needed to pause my membership or cancel it, and she made the process so easy and hassle free. I recently moved out of the state and this Anytime/Kourtney was something that I was bummed to be moving away from. I can't say enough good things about this space and the manager of this gym.

I've never used the program. My wife goes multiple times weekly and LOVES the gym! She uses the warm water pool for therapy, strengthening her knees. She uses the weight equipment after a thorough education session with each piece, apparently the machines use air pressure resistance and have a memory feature to know each user and their previous settings. Even though I have a home gym this sounds like a wonderful place for adults to work out and feel comfortable and competent with their fitness pursuits!

This is my favorite place to be. I look forward to it every week and am bummed when I can’t go. The instructors are absolutely amazing, they make the place so welcoming. I have been going for a year and a half and have seen amazing results, I could see muscle growth right away and seeing my improvement in sports is awesome. I recommend ETS to every person I meet.

As a bit of back story, I did NOT want my kids to do ETS at first. They tried to convince me for months to sign them up, and they finally wore me down. We started at ETS in June 2021, and despite my initial concerns, we could not be happier. My kids love going and never complain… they actually miss it when we’re out of town and they can’t go. They love the feeling of accomplishment after a hard workout, and they are rewarded by clear gains in strength, speed, and agility. Not only are they seeing and feeling results in their sports, which we expected… but they have also joined a family, which was not something we expected. Jamison has created a culture within ETS that is challenging and growth-minded, but also supportive and encouraging. I am also thrilled that Jamison and Trevor have become part of my kids' team - I view them as kind of an extension of their coaching staff - and I can't ask for better role models for them. Both kids look up to those guys, value and appreciate their feedback, and want to work hard as a result of their mentorship. It's clear that they are genuinely good humans who very much care about the kids they're coaching. ETS is like anything — your kids have to WANT to do it and they have to put in the work to get the results. And sure, it’s an investment… but I would say it’s well worth it.

We were one of the first families to join ETS, wanting to give our kids an opportunity to physically be the best they could be for their HS sports careers…yet ETS is so much more. They definitely have to put in the work and challenge themselves which allows them to see incredible results (stronger, faster and more physically fit) as an athlete that pays off on the field and the court. Yet through that process and the amazing coaching they receive from Jamison and Trevor, my boys have also built lifelong habits and strong mental tenacity and a belief in themselves they will carry with them for the rest of their lives – we can’t thank you enough for that Jamison! Thanks for your positivity, for pushing our kids to be the very best version of who they can be and for believing in them in the gym, on the field/court, in their school and in their communities Jamison and Trevor! YOU make a difference!

My 13 year old daughter has worked hard with Jamison to overcome a sports injury & stay mentally positive through it all. My 10 year old son is so excited to keep showing up and giving his all in speed plus & work his way into the strength classes ;) As a parent, I am so thankful for the communication & support from Jamison and Trevor. The kids feel like part of the family at ETS. Thank you!

ETS is amazing! My son has grown leaps and bounds from the training he has received. He never complains about having to go, that's just shows you how much fun he has! And the staff is amazing!!! They really take time to bond with the kids and at the same time give them structure. I would 100% recommend ETS to any kids who want to excel. Thank you ETS for the amazing experience, Isaac C and Kate

Time is precious and if you want to get the most out of your time, Erin at Studio E is your answer! It is an investment in yourself that you will not regret. Erin knows how to push you to be your best but to do so in a manner that makes you feel so comfortable. That being said, she also accommodates all levels while maintaining that comfort. I leave class feeling energized and ready for the rest of my day!
