I recently visited the YMCA in Mankato and it was phenomenal. Everyone there helped me check in and showed me where everything was. The locker room was spacious. The gym was very well-organized, with plenty of space despite being close together, which I really liked. I would definitely go back every time I work out. I went to the pool, and they showed me where it was. They offered towels, and the pool wasn’t too deep. There were two big pools—one for swimming and another one for everyone. They also had a hot tub which I enjoyed. I was very impressed that they had a waterslide, although I didn’t get to use it. Nonetheless, it looked amazing, and I had a lot of fun. After my workout, I went to the sauna and it was amazing. It felt so good to relax there. Everything was indoors, and there were various levels and gyms with a lot of different activities available. I also noticed they had a teen week, which I believe was only for a week, but I really liked that they had their own space. My relatives would’ve loved having that available to them. Overall, a fantastic experience!

Staff was very kindan helpful. A plus that they had a basketball court. The facility is a little dated but overall it has the basics for a good workout.

My family and I have been members since 2018, but I am beginning to reconsider. The Y is really beginning to show it's age and it's a real shame so many amenities for children have been removed. Board games/puzzles, kids toys and the ball pit are no longer available in the rec room, and the lounge area has been sectioned off sloppily (The drywall has not been primed or painted and there are no baseboards. It has been this way for months.) from the rest of the rec room, giving it a claustrophobic, closed off feel. The kids gym is starting to fall apart (multiple tears in the netting, leaving the underside and back of the play gym accessible to kids, which could prove hazardous) and there isn't much else for preteen age children who are too old to use it but too young to be unsupervised in the facility to keep themselves occupied. The pool cues, foosballs and ping pong balls all need to be checked out in the lobby, but can only be done so after trading in your phone, keys or Y card, which is a big pain in the butt as they were all freely accessible previously. The pool is a pretty big disappointment too. The slide is almost never running, and the water features are off a solid 90% of the time we've gone swimming. Overall, the Y is in need of a huge overhaul or maybe just a little less marketing towards being a child friendly facility. :(

I have been a member for about a year now and I love the hot tub and swimming pool. The staff always make me feel welcome.. It has now been about 3 years now that I've been a member here and they still make me feel just as welcome as they did when I first began coming here. I know I mentioned the swimming pool and hot tub before, but I have also used a few of the exercise machines that they have to offer in their gym. I definitely recommend this place and to try a few things out sometime. Thanks!!!
