Indoor Pool(s) Locker Rooms with Showers

First time attending and very dissatisfied. From the moment we arrived the front desk staff were unprofessional, laughing and gossiping. Corresponding with each other over text message about others at the facility. They openly talked about this in front of my family as we checked in. My husband and my young 2-year old got a day pass to go swimming. I proceeded to ask about the showers because I noticed the locker rooms being remodeled. We were told “there are signs” to the showers they have temporarily set up for folks. As we were swimming, the life guards were rude and continuously condescending toward me and my husband. If my 2 year old made a mistake like facing the wrong direction on the slide after she went down she was accused of “climbing” up. My daughter has a sensory processing disorder and loves water so she was feeling the water going down the slide with her hand. Nobody was waiting to go down at the top of the slide. It was just her using the slide. I understand they don’t want kids climbing up the slide for safety but there is a way to approach the parents respectfully about it. As we were leaving the pool, my husband asked a lifeguard where the showers were. He pointed to a door. I grabbed my 2year old and as we opened the door it was apparent that the showers they installed during the locker room remodel were OUTSIDE. it is 8:15pm at night in JANUARY. I took my family into one of the small showers they have set up in trailers outside. Turned the nozzle to get the shower running and it was ICE COLD. At that point, my toddler was shivering and crying before even getting under the shower. I was very upset. We had to make the decision to put our clothes on over our wet swimwear and leave. As we left the trailer we saw a lifeguard outside watching us. My husband asked him if there was a way to the parking lot from here. He pointed to the doors back to the pool. I had my crying toddler in my arms while my husband had his hands full with our belongings. The lifeguard wasn’t even 5ft in front of us and he didn’t even open the door for us as we followed him back to the pool to leave. He opened it for himself and closed it behind him on us. This was the icing on the cake. There were several opportunities for the staff to warn us that the showers were outside and there was no warm water. We had a small child with us and this felt very personal. From what I observed, many staff were very young, had poor attitudes and absolutely need schooling on professionalism and empathy. They need to be held accountable. I understand nobody is entitled to special treatment but damn…common decency goes a long way. We won’t be back to this facility.

The front desk lady was horrible and was extremely rude not paying attention to us and on her phone. She told us to leave when there was a "max capacity" when there was no one in the pool. The lifeguards were also bad mostly the one named Jake. The front desk person blamed the fullness on the jake guy idk if that was true or not.

Swimming room was nice and the front desk lady was super nice but, those locker rooms made me want to cringe. Very unsanitary, damaged shower walls, hair everywhere, and garbage as well. They need to hiring cleaners for the gym to be cleaned through out the day or close down those locker rooms because the open damage walls looks like some mold is growing in there. Looking at previous reviews, it looks like these walls have been like this for some time now. That’s crazy how they think that’s OK. I Gave them two stars because the pool was really nice and the front desk lady was amazing but took three stars away due to unsanitary locker rooms conditions. I really never seen anything like that before, it made me want to get in my car not even rinse off. I did let the front desk lady know, but she says they get clean once a night by the look of that bathroom they should be cleaned throughout the day. They should have a fund set aside to handle those locker rooms. It’s really should be shut down.

Went on a Thursday morning to swim laps and loved it! Such a kind and friendly environment, and a beautiful facility. I feel lucky we have this here in Federal Way!

Extremely rude front desk workers. When I paid to swim the lady acted like I was inconveniencing her to do her job! Guess she needed to get back to the movie she was watching on her phone. Also, the man was very rude too. Was playing a game on his phone as well. I don’t even care if you’re on your phone at work but don’t be rude when you have to do your job that you’re being paid for. Also needed to be buzzed in the gate entrance to use the bathroom. Also a HUGE inconvenience to her! Sorry, I spoiled your day by paying to swim and needing to be buzzed in the gate! Hopefully the next time we swim it will be different staff!

This gym is so crowded especially in the evening. Ladies Locker room is dirty. The floor is always wet and slippery in the restroom. Paper towel dispensers are broken or empty. Machines out of service for long periods of time. And the roof is leaking. How sad.

New to the gym. I am really trying to like this place. The day care center is great. No complaints there thus far. The equipment, mainly cardio equipment seems to break a lot and be down. But my biggest concern is the cleanliness is just terrible. Wipes are always empty. No one is wiping equipment down. I never see anyone cleaning. But when I do see janitors/cleaners (rare) I feel as if they are just hiding in the bathroom/locker room not doing anything. Meanwhile the bathroom is a shit show. I feel like a quarter of the members aren’t even working out but just using this place like a bath house. So far for my work out routine I have enjoyed and the employees seem nice, but the cleanliness really needs to be looked at, asap.

They apparently deleted my review so here it is again. I canceled my LA Fitness membership because everything was always caked in sweat residue. Like I'd use the touch screen or touch a handle and get this nasty funk on my hands 🤢 I'd watch, and absolutely no one other than me cleaned anything ever. My last straw was despite cleaning the equipment before I used it, the gunk was literally SO CAKED ON that it would not come off. Beyond Nauseating.

When I joined L.A. Fitness (King County, WA, region) I was dubious about the many, many negative comments of some of the facilities. The negative comments were not wrong, and I endured the reality of the facilities because it was (at the time) the least expensive, most comprehensive option. The Federal Way location, unfortunately, has its share of problems. Unfortunately, their problems remain similar to the Burien location as well. Roof leaks are persistent, and there are regularly buckets on the floor (at different points in the facility) where there are roof leaks. There doesn't seem to be any outreach to members about why this persists. Carpet is not maintained, and in reality sorely needs a replacement. There's no way that they've cleaned that carpet, thoroughly, in _years_. . .otherwise we would have seen evidence of it (any evidence, in fact, that they made any effort to clean any of the carpet in the past 3-5 years). Bathrooms are consistently out of toilet paper and out of paper towels. Paper towel dispensers are regularly broken or don't function correctly. Sometimes toilet paper is missing 'because people keep stealing it' (whaaa?), so they don't replace it at all. Members continue to use cell phones in bathrooms, despite it clearly posted that they aren't permitted, and management doesn't do anything to address it. Toileting areas are always humid, sticky, and reek of urine: it's clear that HVAC in that area isn't correctly/effectively installed and that they need cleaning MUCH more frequently. Regular staff walkthroughs, of these areas, throughout the day (and thus responding immediately to upkeep of both facility and equipment and members' responsibilities, would greatly help address much of this. Cardio equipment is never cleaned thoroughly, and it all remains gross. I professionally cleaned houses, at one point in my job history, and these machines have needed scrubbing for years. These same cardio equipment machines are also not well-maintained. Some don't work at all (stair machines, loft level), some have wonky displays (so, good luck knowing how long you've been on them or how fast you're going or how far you're run/walked), and some displays are grossly inaccurate. If staff can't recalibrate and maintain these, recycle them and replace them. The stairway to the loft-level had busted treads for years. Sometime in late 2024 they finally replaced the edging. This is but one of several different ways that maintenance is either delayed or ignored (see: roof leaks) at this facility. The wheelchair-accesible bathroom has seen better days. It is rarely kept cleaned up, dried, etc. It needs a staffer to regularly maintain it throughout the day. Somehow the adjustable shower never gets fixed, nor are their lockers in that space: why does this location seem to think that someone will go lock their belongings in a separate locker room, then bring them into this room to shower, etc.? Why the discrimination?

One star, for the unhealthy conditions of the men’s showers and restrooms. There are worms in the corners of the shower! Yes they were moving and alive. I didn’t see them until I was almost done. I’ve been to some 3rd world showers before and yes those were bad, but we live in a civilized country where people get paid to clean floors and we pay a 100.00 per month to have a membership. Absolutely disgusting! I have called the Washington health department and the king county health department.

Hi guys. I have been to a few PF and you guys are the best one. Thank you. Love how clean you keep your equipments and the spaces between them 👍👍. Really enjoyed my workout. I will definitely be using this location a lot. 👍👍💪💪💙

I've been to this Planet Fitness several times and the staff are kind and maintain the facility pretty well, the black card member area is spacious and sanitized with a nice lounge area.

This location has very nice staff, but plenty of issues have prompted this review. They got new treadmills, stairs steppers, bikes and elliptical 2 months ago, that are great. Problem is the treadmills reboot several days a week. The machine stops mid workout and it's difficult to start them up. The staff is aware of the problem and are trying to fix it, but it's been 2 months now. They took all the toilet seat covers out and when I asked about it, I was told it was a corperate decision to save money. When machines break, it takes weeks, if not months to repair them. If you are looking for a gym where they put profits before customers, this is your gym.

It’s a great gym not to crowed people and staff are nice I get lots of compliments from people there… equipment is managed very well and is wiped down. Perfect gym to go to highly worth your money.

It was a good workout from what I could follow but it was a lot. Personal rating I'd give it a 1 but I don't know if that's just my own biased opinion vs. People who like that type of environment which is why I gave it a 5 star. By the end of the workout I was drenched so it's not like it didn't work or do what the work out was intended to do. The lights and super loud music is fun and all but I couldn't hear the instructions so it was hard to follow. Possibly not for those who get over stimulated easily. I'm sure it's a great place the facilities were clean and the staff was helpful but it's just not for me. They make you wear a heart rate monitor for your intro class which I've experienced in the past and don't love having on display just a personal preference. I think you might need to buy one with a membership but I'm not sure. Overall it has nice facilities and friendly staff.

Let’s see where to begin. For starters the Staff there are all exceptionally professional and incredibly welcoming to the people who come to Orange Theory classes. They have great energy and are eager to get you in the best shape possible. Now onto where this place shines even more so. The classes guided by knowledgeable coaches who have the workouts all planned out for you before you enter the class. What I love about it is how I can either go at my own pace or push myself harder. Even even if you haven’t worked out before the coaches Will be there for you every step of the way and even give proper demonstration to how certain exercises are performed. They have TV screens that show what the exercises look like as well. The coaches will even come around to help with correcting your form and even provide alternative ways of doing the workouts if the way that was demonstrated is a little difficult for you. They play great music there as well which I found to be very helpful when working on the treadmill. At the end of the 50-60 minutes I’m dripping in sweat and really feel like I got a great workout and burned off that whole Costco pizza from the night before. Seriously though if you’re looking for another way to up your game, maintain what you’ve already got or to improve your cardio, physical strength and overall health, then I highly recommend this location to anyone who wants to better their lives. Also just a little fun bit: members who achieve certain milestones in the classes get their picture taken and displayed. There wasn’t one person in the photos who didn’t look like they had good time and a great workout. Go check it out!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience at OrangeTheory Fitness! From the moment I walked in, I felt a wave of positivity and support that set the tone for my weight loss journey. The classes are challenging yet incredibly rewarding, pushing you to your limits while ensuring you feel accomplished at the end of each session. The structure of the workouts, which blend cardio and strength training, is perfectly designed to maximize calorie burn and boost endurance. Each class feels dynamic and fresh, keeping me engaged and motivated to come back for more. The heart rate monitoring system is a game-changer, allowing me to track my progress and truly understand my body’s capabilities. I never once felt intimidated or overwhelmed, which is often a concern in traditional gyms. The atmosphere is inclusive and uplifting; it's clear that the staff wants to see you thrive, and they provide constant support throughout your journey. They celebrate your milestones, big or small, and offer guidance tailored to your individual goals. This kind of support made a significant difference in my confidence and commitment to my weight loss journey. Overall, I highly recommend OrangeTheory Fitness to anyone looking to challenge themselves in a supportive, non-intimidating environment. The blend of hard work, community spirit, and expert guidance has made all the difference for me, and I’m excited to continue my journey here!

I want to share my experience here from an employee point of view, as a coach. The management at this specific location is horrible, they create a super toxic environment where they bully their employees and try to intimidate/control you to a point that it is uncomfortable to come to work. I loved this studio, my job, and all of the members so much until the current head coach and studio manager assumed their roles and made it the most unpleasant work experience I have ever experienced. And I am not the only employee to feel this way and have these issues. It’s a real bummer that such a great thing had to be ruined by power hungry individuals that don’t have a clue how to run a successful studio. This also rubs off on the members experiences. If you want the true friendly, warm, community-based and fun orangetheory experience I highly recommend going to a different studio not this one, because you will not get that here. And the fact that these people’s behavior is still being tolerated and is not being looked into further after multiple employees having the same negative experience and speaking out is very concerning, and tells me everything I need to know about the owners/regional management of this facility.

Love love OTF FW ! I needed motivation and wanted to learn how to exercise. The coaches and staffs are so friendly and they make work outs so fun. Never knew exercising was this fun until I joined OTF FW. The best decision I made in this year is coming to OTF.

This may be a fine establishment but their advertisement was SO CREEPY & gave me a weird gut feeling! At the Commons Plaza… - old man holding a poorly made sign on a busy road - young minor girls in MINIMAL clothing on front - “free classes” (can target vulnerable population) - “summer CAMPS” - yes send your minor daughters overnight with us…. I’m sorry, if you are an upstanding establishment, you wouldn’t put minors in minimal clothing in a busy road with a creepy man holding the sign. There are other ways to advertise! MOMS listen to your gut feelings when taking your daughters anywhere like this ….

This place is really great with toddlers. Coach Jackie has speciality training in early childhood and works patiently and directive with the littles. It’s such a gem in the community!

Absolutely love this place. Coach Jackie is fantastic and my daughter has learned so much!! Only down side is they don't take cards.

Amazing staff here, especially for our private lessons, Mariah is wonderful! When we first started here a few months back my kiddo was placed with beginners and soon surpassed it in skill level. They noticed this and that she seemed bored, so they recommended we move to the next level up. When we did that, she was slightly behind what the rest of the class was doing and they have continuously given her the attention that she needs to catch up. We decided to add a few private lessons also, and that has been the charm that we needed. My kiddos confidence has been intensely boosted and she loves trying new things. The prices here are so affordable that you’re not paying for tons of extras unless you choose to. I absolutely recommend this gym for anyone, from beginners to the rather seasoned veterans.

I miss this gym. It’s been a year since I was a member, but this has been my favorite gym I’ve been to (and I’ve been to a handful). Had to move unexpectedly last year so had to change gyms. I enjoy my local gym now, but it’s just not the same as Freedom Fitness. I never took any of the classes - was just there to use the equipment. Literally was never crowded, even during “peak hours.” Could be in the power rack for over an hour with no one waiting. Not many machines, but have everything you need to do essentially any exercise or to sub for any if needed. Also loved the 24 hr access. I never interacted with the coaches much, but I could tell they were extremely supportive for their classes. My cancellation went fine, no issues. I’m in the midst of moving yet again so I need to look for a new gym. My first thought was, “I hope I can find a similar one to Freedom.” Highly recommend this gym even if it’s just to use the equipment.

We had a wonderful experience in Freedom Fitness. We were in the area for one day and we were looking for a gym with day pass. We had all we needed for a good workout!

Kinda small but it's has good trainers in my limited experience and they were friendly. Body is still sore from my last boot camp so I'd say they did the thing!! It's a fun class experience for sure.

Really clean gym with a full range of equipment. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Anthony took the time to explain to me the programs offered and answered any questions I had. The gym is a good size and it’s private enough where I don’t feel like I’ll have to wait for machines or worry about it being overcrowded. Highly recommend checking it out if you live in the area!

HUGE THANK YOU to ANTHONY! I am soooo happy right now and excited again about my workouts. I appreciate how you took the time listen and help me articulate what I needed/wanted in a workout. Anthony has created the EXACT type of kettlebell/mobility workout that has me excited again. I could not be more grateful.

Personally, I think $20 for a day pass is too much for the size of the gym and quality of the equipment. This gym is extremely small and the machines are old. The posing room area is nice, but I was just underwhelmed and got bored really fast. The aesthetics are nice but I just think this gym is so tiny. Also, in order to even exit the gym you have to push a button which took me multiple times and needed help just to get out, which is a serious safety concern and a fire hazard. You shouldn’t have to press a button and quickly push the door open just to get out…that raises a big concern for safety purposes. Other than that, it’s definitely a gym for dedicated lifters. I wish they had stair masters. I just expected more.

One of the bigger Anytime fitness I’ve been. Equipment are old, but they have more machines than most of the anytime fitness i’ve been, as they’re the machines I need for my push, pull, & leg workouts. And although they’re old, they still do the job, just like the ones LA Fitness, those are old as well. Also their bathrooms a far better too, i’ve been to renton anytime fitness and the Renton one is nasty compared to this one.

Unusual fee charged on my account and the person that runs the gym couldn’t care less. Totally dismissive on the phone. With no resolution offered, I just cancelled account.

A literal Karen runs this place. Only thing it has going for it are the hours. If you’re serious about a gym invest your time elsewhere! Limited equipment and cramped space, and ONE dirty gross shower.

They don't list their rates unless you give them all your information first. That way they can constantly bombard you with emails and phone calls as well as sell your information. I hate it when they don't list their rates, means they are hiding something.

I joined Temple Fitness in February of 2022, so it's going on 3 years at this great gym! On the first day, I immediately felt comfortable with the friendly environment, the coaches and the members. I asked other members how long they've been going there and most responded that they were members for 2-4 years or longer. I thought that was a great sign! The gym is clean with nice amenities like showers, coffee, water and protein drinks and snacks for purchase. The workouts are great and the coaches really listen and tailor workouts to individual and group needs. If any member has injuries to work through or need to work on particular movements in general, they really help to educate, motivate and demonstrate alternate movements. It is a family business and there are some cute kids that may sometimes make an appearance. Don't be alarmed! They are very well mannered and will probably run the gym one day. As an owner of a small, family business myself, I admire the courage and tenacity of Dan and Brynn to run a business in this economy, build a strong community, treat their members well and raise a loving family. If you're on the fence, just lean into it, you won't regret it.

Temple fitness is one of the top two gyms I’ve been to across the 9 different states in which I’ve lived. It is perfect for complete novices to advanced fitness enthusiasts, and a bargain to boot for nearly 24/7 access. I am a software engineer at Amazon, have been active and into fitness for 12 years, have a total well over a thousand pounds, and a mile time under 7 minutes at 220lbs. I keep my membership at Temple because there’s no other gym in Washington state where I can put my hands on as much functional, effective equipment or do the space-consuming compound movements like walking barbell-lunges or Turkish gettups. It is no frills, all utility, and a very, very kind community ~ just the way a gym should be. I cannot recommend Temple highly enough. Murphy Kennedy down below is a loser and clearly doesn’t know anything about the gym or the owners.

I joined this gym last year but wasn’t using it much at first. After an injury and some weight gain, I reached out to their coaches and began a personalized training program with Coach Brynn. The experience has been nothing short of fantastic! Coach Brynn is incredibly knowledgeable, designing workouts that not only focus on what I need but are also sports focused workouts that complement my kickboxing training. When I first started, I was dealing with knee and back pain in the morning, but now I’m able to get out of bed with ease again. We added in mobility movements and core that really helped. The gym itself is kept very clean, well-maintained, and equipped with a wide range of functional training gear, including sleds, landmines, and even a boxing bag. I also like the convenience of being able to come in anytime with a key card—perfect for fitting in a workout whenever it works for me. It’s not overcrowded, which makes it ideal for filming workouts, too. I’ve already started shedding some weight and improving my boxing skills, and I’m excited to see even more progress. Highly recommend this gym for anyone looking for a supportive and well-equipped environment to reach their fitness goals!

I’ve been working out/training at Temple Fitness for 1 1/2 years. My trainer, Liam, has done an amazing job of coaching me through stretches and strength building. I’m in my 50s and desperately need to stay strong and become more flexible! Temple Fitness welcomes ALL ages/stages of people which makes me feel like I belong here!

Day pass costs $20. Month pass is some expensive because coachs help you to workout. There are 10 power racks. This gym is good for beginners or people who need help. I enjoy workout here. But It is not the perfect gym for me.
