Very nice and clean work out place. Price is average for monthly membership. They got fairly newer equipments and also a pool. Not big too pool so kind of have to fight for a swim lane. machines are fairly new but they do need maintenance, some does make squeaky noise during use. When i first join, no one really walk you thru the equipments so basically you kind of figure them out by yourself. Place can be packed on weekends.

Overall very nice Gym. But City Sports Club needs to improve sanitary conditions . Paper towels always seem to run out. Soap dispenser needs to be refill on a regular basis. Also towelettes need to refill on a regular basis. Otherwise nice gym..

Tripods and cameras everywhere. Inconsiderate " influencers" pointing cameras everywhere. Every single day i have to tell someone i do not want to be recorded or in there video. A friend of mine, female, was just yelled at by a guy for walking in front of his camera while he was recording. Gym staff and managers do nothing about it and if anything they are buddies with some of these people. The gym locker rooms are always dirty now, you can tell this was a gym that was nice and clean when it opened and has slowly gone downhill. Big groups of teenagers with bags bigger then them always congregating around equipment. Completely blocking common walkways with bags, themselves, or cameras with zero regard to anyone else. Don't sign up at this place, because it's not going to change with the staff running it.

I am very impressed with the facility and staff of city sports club. Especially the help I received from Christian as he is very professional and polite. Christian solved any questions I had with ease and made my overall experience the best. I’d highly recommend anyone and everyone in their area to consider joining this gym as they won’t regret it. Also will never need another gym. Thank you again to the staff of city sports club!

Gym is nice, equipment is new. Only issues I have is the cleanliness. I get that members will leave their trash everywhere and won’t clean up after themselves but the problem I have is with the restrooms. It seems like as each week passes, the restrooms get dirtier and dirtier. There’s gunk and dirt on the floor, there’s always at least 1 sink clogged up, and there’s been times when they don’t have paper towels to wipe your hands. The main reason I took the time to write this review is because I just came out of the men’s restroom today after trying to wash my hands and literally every sink had no soap. This is the 3rd time it’s happened and it’s so disgusting and unsanitary. Imagine someone just finished taking a piss or wiping their butt and there’s no soap to wash their hands. There’s a chance that person will go back to continue their workout and touch all of the gym equipment with their dirty hands. Good luck to you if on that same day the gym just so happens to be out of alcohol wipes which also happens occasionally. I’ve told the staff the first time it happened and they were able to resolve the issue, but the past 2 times where all 6 sinks were out of soap, there was no staff at the front desk and everyone else was busy helping other people sign up with their membership or something like that. Regardless, I feel like whoever is in charge of maintaining the restrooms should be periodically checking all the sinks to make sure the soap is refilled regularly so that something like this doesn’t happen in the first place. The fact that all 6 sinks are out of soap is just plain negligence. I’m not sure how often they clean the bathrooms but they have to do it more often.

It doesn't feel like a community as compared to other OTF gyms I've been to. Wish they provided locks on their lockers. Teacher was good.

I love Elk Grove studio. All the coaches are amazing and have such an amazing energy. The coaches are part of our community who care about the individuals who workout at the studio and push us just enough to be stronger. Love this studio.

Towards the end of last year I made a commitment to make my physical health a priority. Orangetheory was so welcoming and made this transition easy to get back into the swing of things! I love the support and camaraderie from the coaches and other members!

At the risk of double posting a review... I got to Google and it's asking for the review, so - I love OTF Elk Grove for the following reasons: Great workouts, great staff (support Carina and all of them) Coaches are excellent and easy to follow, Head Coach (Brooke), Manager Binh runs an efficient location and participates in the classes too! The Facility is clean, well run, coaches are encouraging, supportive, interested in my personal goals, modify the workout if anyone has an injury. The results are great and the cost is reasonable considering you are getting a coach led class and you are in and out in one hour exactly! Lots of classes to choose from 7 days a week and sometimes they offer challenges to spice things up. Most participants where an OTF monitor and can track their workout statistics; however, I have high BP (so the monitor acts like I'm not working out because of the BP Medication I take and I know I am) so I just use my Apple Watch to track my workouts. Those that wear the monitor have an added benifit! I highly recommend OTF Elk Grove.

I have been attending this gym since it opened on 12/31. Prior to becoming a member, I had several studio memberships + a gym membership so the price point is honestly a steal. No complaints there. Gym: The gym is okay and meets most of my needs. They could use more equipment in terms selection but generally they have most machines needed. A bit shocked that there's only 1 lat pull down and 0 seated cable row machines. Nonetheless, the stretch area, bands, and other small equipment provided are a nice touch and I'd still rate the gym area a 4. Studios: Love this aspect. I have taken 25 classes to date, many with the same instructor several times. Yes, they fill up fast, so yes, you need to book most of them as soon as they open. I have a bit of an obsessive personality so this works for me lol. Here are my highlights. Reformer: My favorite instructor is Brianna. I love her playlists and her repeated cues, because let's be honest, some of us are a little slower than others in understanding the assignment. While I do think she can be persistent with her cues, I've never been offended and I'm sure I have at least on one occasion been the reason why she needed to repeat herself so many times. I've taken 6 classes with her thus far and have enjoyed them all. I always feel challenged, I may even take an excessive amount of breaks on the reformer and while she gently pushes us to stay in it and to keep going, I don't feel judged when I don't. Overall I would highly recommend her as an instructor and always look forward to her classes. Yoga: I wish the classes were a bit warmer. Seems like the temperature doesn't quite reach the "hot" standard. I don't need it to be 105 but sometimes it gives 80. That's probably my only suggestion in general. Instructors I loveeee Lia! She's so sweet and she remembered my name and gave me subtle shout out during one of our classes. Subtle things like that make a difference and are nice especially when there are so many people in the classes making it a little difficult to build community. I also enjoy her playlist and really just her overall sweet nature. I'm a regular! I've only attended one of Larraine's classes BUT it was great. I loved her set up and lighting changes. Her first song was I Get So Lonely by Janet Jackson, yasssss 🙌🏽. Was such a vibe, of course I'll be back :) Boxing: I've only taken classes with Sergio but he's GREAT. He's highly motivating, provides corrections, and in general you can just tell he loves what he does. I feel extremely unstoppable when I leave boxing lol (I probably should relax). I also burn a ton of calories so it's another class that I try to regularly attend. BTW, the discipline quote that he uses from Mike Tyson is now something I tell myself daily. Again, he's great, highly motivational and I have found the impact of that outside of class. Ride: I really enjoy Alex's ride classes. She's amazing, like no really. I can't say riding is my favorite as it generally hurts my butt but Alex makes it fun, lively, she pushes you to challenge yourself and I have found the things she says really push me to be better outside of classes. I think that's an important part of fitness for me, the way it impacts my mental health/well-being and ride with Alex does that for me. With that said, I try to do it weekly even if my butt is sore after! Pilates: I've attended a few Pilates classes. I went to a hot Pilates studio in the past and am very use to a format that incorporates HIIT into the workout. This is a bit different so I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about it. Overall, I'm glad I signed up for Club Studio. Yes it's busy, yes the parking can be challenging, but I still attend multiple times a day/week and have found it to be a great second home.

I remember purchasing a pre-owned Nissan Maxima and thinking, wow this is a very nice car. Until…I upgraded six years later to a luxury vehicle that made me question how I ever drove anything else. This is the way that I felt when I walked into Club Studio. For the 20 years that I have been weight training, I have become accustomed to the simplicity and community that traditional gyms such as 24 Hour Fitness and In-Shape Fitness offer. Those gyms have their individual benefits; however, I would say that Club Studio is more of a luxury gym (if that’s even a thing) for folks that want more of a comprehensive fitness experience. When I walked into the establishment I was warmly greeted by an employee behind the very elaborate front counter (it reminded me of the day spa counters that you see at vacation resorts). The employee assisted me with checking in for the first time and pointed (I sensed that he could not leave the front desk unattended – which I totally understand) me to the men’s locker room. En route to the men’s locker room I observed how clean the facility is (granted it has been opened for less than a week), the non-harsh lighting (perfect for those who like to take gym selfies), and the signs indicating designated parts of the facility (i.e., group fitness classes, stretch areas, etc.). Upon entering the locker room, I followed the instructions on the inside of a locker to create a temporary code and placed my gym bag in the locker (bags are not allowed on the gym floor). Upon entering the main gym floor, I observed the various forms of equipment designed to work any muscle group of your desire. Sitting on the equipment was a reminder that I was not in a traditional gym. The leather/padding on the equipment is very supple (better quality than some cars I have sat in) and contours to your body (in comparison to some gyms that use slippery leather that can make you feel unsecure while performing an exercise). Although the pandemic has taught us that you do not need overly heavy weights to build muscle, I appreciate that the dumbbells go up to 125 pounds. Following the conclusion of my weight training session, I walked over to the stretch area to do some core training. The area had individual booths with a mirror, mat, and cubbies with little fitness balls. Being that I prefer not being at the center of attention while doing a core workout or stretching, I appreciated the seclusion that this space offered. Although I worked up a nice sweat, I felt like the overall clean environment made me feel less “icky” when leaving the facility. I enjoyed my first day experience at Club Studio. Aside from the many amenities offered at the facility, it felt like a safe environment that is welcoming to people of all body types. I look forward to future visits so that I can experience the boxing class, hot Pilates, infrared sauna, and cryotherapy. Club Studio facilities are scarce, which speaks volumes to the fact that we now have one in Elk Grove!

I love this gym. If you are into classes you can’t find anything like this elsewhere without having multiple memberships. The classes and instructors are great. Classes are full but it is the beginning of the year so I am optimistic things will level out. The gym is gorgeous, clean, and has towel service. Staff are so friendly and helpful! The price is cheaper or equivalent with what you would pay for any studio membership nearby without all of the options. For someone who loves classes I am thrilled we have this as an option in Elk Grove!

Been working out at this gym since earlier Jan, Classes are great, but customers service is horrible. Very cold, bad attitude when you ask them anything. I guess they don't need customer service once they already made a sale on you? They also keep changing instructors of the class last minute. If you like any instructor, it's hard to follow them for that specific reason. If you charge a price like that, at least have better/nicer customer service.

I love this gym a lot. It’s very clean and aesthetically pleasing. The classes are very fun, clean, and nice on the eyes. The instructors are motivating, especially Karlyn, and the people are friendly. They make sure the gym stays clean and tidy. The locker rooms are great, there are even Dyson hairdryers, but me and a few other people have encountered some issues with the lockers, where the code doesn’t work and the staff needs to come and open it with their own key. They provide towels and they have spacious showers. The sauna is gorgeous with the himalayan salt wall, but sometimes it’s not hot enough. Maybe it depends on how many people are in it. The gym equipment is top notch and very smooth. Aside from all the pros, there are a few cons too. First of all, it’s hard to get into the classes you may want. There’s a waitlist for classes a week prior to them. The classes, in my opinion, make the membership worth it. But it’s very disappointing when almost every class is booked. It’s not impossible to get off the waitlist, but you can’t see what number you are on the waitlist. There’s no pool, steam room, or basketball court. If you don’t plan to go to the boutique classes, I wouldn’t recommend this gym for you. You have to pay for the boxing gloves for the boxing class, or rent or buy it from the front. It’s not provided. And for pilates, if you go in without grippy socks they won’t let you in the class and tell you to buy the overpriced socks from the front desk. In conclusion, I do love this gym and I don’t even feel like leaving it when I go. And personally, it’s perfect for me because it has the things I want and need. Just don’t expect something like In-Shape Family Fitness, it’s very different. Update: You have to book a class a week prior to it, and the worst part is that classes a week before the date get booked the same hour it opens for booking. The reform classes are so hard to get into. I hope they can fix this issue and put what number you are on the waitlist. Like I mentioned, the classes make the gym worth the money. I would appreciate if they at least put what number you are on the waitlist. I also went to beaming, and I got a basic smoothie for 11 dollars… it was mediocre at best. And there’s still problems with some of the lockers. ☹️

There is so much to love about In Shape Family Fitness!!! I love how open, big and cheery the building is! From the moment you walk in and are greeted by the staff and feel the energy of the whole place, it puts you in a great mindset to workout!! When it comes to working out, there’s so much variety, it’s awesome!! My husband and I both go, and there are so many weights and machines that he likes, geared towards his goals, and so many other machines and cardio options that I like, geared towards my target areas!!!! I love that they have big locker rooms for me to keep my stuff in while I workout! It’s nice to have the option of showering and changing there if you want to. It’s an experience that you actually look forward to because it’s fun! Honestly, I can spend hours there! I also love the tanning included in my membership… and the massage chairs are a wonderful reward after a long workout! My husband and I both love In Shape!

Management doesn’t care about the basketball court. We’ve been telling them that the rim inside the gym is broken and is unusable. This has been broken for over two weeks. How long does it take to order a rim and install? Sure as hell doesn’t take two weeks. They don’t care; as long as they’re getting memberships in and people working out in their machines. A typical membership is north of $60 a month and they can’t even keep a professional image with their facilities with the lack of maintenance and repair. Typical corporation. All money.

My family and I workout pretty consistently at the Laguna location. Great gym hours! There are plenty machines throughout the gym which is a thumbs up! Nice variety of classes. Massage tables are a plus! It would be helpful if they posted a basketball/paddle ball schedule online. The cement needs paving on one end of the Olympic pool. Currently you are at risk to cut your feet. Also, it does not appear that they use a pool sweeper on a regular basis but douse the pool with solution only, very much cloudy and lots of dirt on pool floor.

Nice gym. Would give more stars but the hot tub seems to be chronically under-heated all winter. It is no doubt expensive to keep at full capacity for heat but a drag for members.

Fieldhouse is a small gym feel where you really get a fitness family. The workout is different everyday so it constantly challenges you. I’ve never been interested in CrossFit but the coaches have always been amazing at starting me at a level I felt good with and getting me stronger and fitter. It teaches you new fun ways to feel stronger and healthier. Do it! The pictures are of how it started and how it’s going ❤️

It’s fun to workout. It’s even more fun to workout with friends. It’s the most fun to workout with family. This CrossFit gym genuinely feels like working out with family. I’ve been going to this gym for over a year now and am pretty happy w/ my experience. The coaches are personable/knowledgeable and can cater to any experience level. The members here are welcoming and encouraging (esp. in group classes). And for those who just want to put on their headphones and “do their thing,” one can do so pretty easily. The gym has no shortage of fitness equipment and experienced staff. I say if you are seriously contemplating getting into better shape, you owe it to yourself to at least try a free class and see what this place is all about. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

I absolutely love Elk Grove Field House. It’s not just a gym, it’s a family. The coaches are top notch and extremely knowledgeable. I love working out with people who genuinely care about me and my well being. I had never done CrossFit before, so I was a bit intimidated, but from the first day I felt welcomed and comfortable. I feel like I can achieve all of my fitness goals under one roof-CrossFit, nutrition, recovery, weight lifting, there is even a program for runners. I highly recommend this gym for anyone who wants to reach their goals in an encouraging environment

A quiet place that welcomes seniors. Some places have grunting bozos who make a show of dropping weights loudly etc. - none of that here! Some places are filthy and smell like a wall-to-wall armpit - none of that here! Some of the equipment is new, some is well-used but also well-maintained. While you may have an occasional cranky machine, you rarely find an out-and-out broken machine. Several people have mentioned the owner Sammy - he's an awesome guy, be sure to say hello! This is not a fancy dancy place, just an honest, safe, quiet, clean place to get some daily exercise. Did I mention they LIKE seniors?

I’ve been going to this gym for a few years , i love the environment. It’s quiet , never too crowded. They offer fitness classes which is a nice change if you want more structure. Robin at the front desk is very friendly and has a warming smile when you walk in. The place is always decorated for the holiday coming up and it’s very nice to look at when walking in. I recommend this gym to everyone for an all around great workout experience.

I LOVE Pure Barre! You are greeted right away when you enter the facility, and all staff makes you feel welcome. Add encouragement and support from experienced instructors and it’s a winning combination! I danced for many years, then I started my career and had children and my fitness wasn’t a priority. After having my family and settling into my career, I really missed it and wanted to find a way to get back into a fitness routine that would work with my busy schedule. With Pure Barre I get a full body workout in less than 1 hour, I can adjust the movement (with the help of the instructor) to meet my individual needs, and I leave each class feeling stronger, more empowered, and ready to get to what I need to do next in my day. This workout is a fabulous way to support health of the body, mind, and spirit…so check it out!

I love coming to classes at Pure Barre. The instructors are great- very professional, fun music, great encouragement and a really good workout in 50 minutes. And the community of people that attend classes are really fun and supportive. Everyone knows my name there and I look forward to going. I've been to all three local studios- Elk Grove, Pavillions, and Ice Blocks. They are all good with great instructors, but the Elk Grove location is my favorite and it's really convenient. I've also done all of the formats and they are different but all effective. I wish Empower were offered more in Elk Grove, but otherwise, the schedule is varied and convenient. I go 3 times per week. I'm also impressed with the training of new instructors. Two new instructors started recently and they are both fantastic!

I love the workout, the staff and instructors, and the members. The owners are very nice and helpful too. I've reached out to them several times for different reasons and they promptly responded. The workout has changed my body so much and I love that you can modify the intensity when some days you just aren't feeling it but still want to get a workout done. I just wish there were more class variety at different times and days so I can get an Empower and Reform done once a week.
