I’ve been a member in this gym for a lot of years. My weight is always up and down. I had a spinal surgery a few years ago and I have herniations on my neck. Today I woke up and decided to head to the gym the day after a snow storm. As a I was walking in there was someone making sure that the ground was clear of snow and taking care of the salt!. Then, I went in and there was a staff cleaning the floor!. Then I took my class with Jeff T and let’s just say he made sure my postures were good and not for just me but his entire class!. He went above and beyond. The music was at a perfect level. I really felt welcome & he was just another reminder of why I haven’t cancelled this gym’s membership!. When the class finished the ladies locker room was spotless!. Overall, this gym still got it! Fully, stocked with cleaning supplies and anything that you need. I am thankful to be a part of this gym after so many years.

I travel all over the country for work and this is definitely one of the top gyms for serious athletes that I have been to. Highlights Top of the line equipment and selection Massive club with strength and conditioning rooms, posing rooms and of course and amazing sauna. The front desk is well staffed and super friendly. Shakes are great and they even have meal preps. If I lived in this area this would be MY HOME CLUB Well done. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Great gym for bodybuilders and those not so advanced. There is plenty of cardio equipment, weight machines for every movement, and plenty of heavy free weights. I also love it's 24 hrs. Great sauna and steam rooms. It can be very crowded at certain times as the gym is huge. Yes, there is a posing room gym, bros! I would give 5 stars. However, the people that go to the gym are not very friendly

I've been going to this planet fitness for 9 years now an they refuse to let me get a grandfathered account since one of the employees restarted my account to make it look like I've been going to this gym for 1 year , Then they told me I have to pay 300 dollars this month an resign up again making me pay the 50 dollar sign up fee every year when I've been member for 9 years this doesn't make sense how do I have to pay a sign up fee again an again an again , for me to pay 300 for a gym that is missing equipment, its not a 24/7 gym , the water machine is always broken , yoga mats are broken, I've had my locker broken into an 200 dollars stolen from me, I have to buy water all the time spending hundreds on water, the equipment is always broken an they want 300 dollars a year makes no sense, I WANT A DISCOUNT ,I DESERVE A DISCOUNT AN WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER OF THIS FACILITY! SO I SPOKE TO A MANAGER AN WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE 320 OR FIND ANOTHER PLANET FITNESS IT HURT SO MUCH TO HEAR THIS CAUSE IM SO DEDICATED TO THIS PLACE , IVE BEEN COMING HEAR FOR TEN YEARS SO MANY FRIENDS IVE MADE ALONG THE WAY ONLY TO BE EXTORTED AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF, NO ONE DESERVES THIS KIND OF TREATMENT ESPECIALLY THE LOYAL CUSTOMERS, SO I PAID THE 320 CASH AN FEEL SO ASHAMED TO COME TO THIS GYM NOW AS TO BE TREATED LIKE A FOOL, I LOVE THIS GYM BUT THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY AN NOT THE PEOPLE, SUPER SAD TO SAY THIS 😔

Been going to various planet fitness locations in the area for almost two years now. There is a lot about this location that makes me want to like it. It is large. Large enough variety of machines and equipment, including two cable fly machines and two per fly machines; some locations have none or one. The 360 area is a bit more secluded here than other locations. 6 Smith machines. And it's location is convenient for me. On the other hand, some things to dislike. It is large, but can be very crowded during the day and that not including the 4 to 7pm rush. 6 Smith machines, but one or two tend to be broken. None of the new machines that other locations received recently. Water machine tends to have issues, whether it is warm water or just doesn't work. I'll still go to this location on some days amd get my workout in within 1.5 hours. Again, I want to like this location and make this my main one but other locations nearby do better in some ways.

I've been enjoying this gym a lot more since they expanded and included more weights and lifting equipment. It's a lot easier to get the weights and stations you need now. They do keep things clean too, you can always see someone mopping or wiping down equipment. When things are broken I feel like they do a decent job of getting them fixed. Obviously some broken things are easier and quicker to fix than others. I personally would LOVE in they included some real squat racks, as I really don't like Smith machines. But I do understand machines like that are not exactly part of the PF model

I understand that Planet Fitness is a budget gym, and I’ve never expected all the bells and whistles—like squat racks or a full range of free weights. That’s fine, and I’ve been working around it. However, the recent issue with the thermostat being turned up SO RIDICULOUSLY HIGH has made working out borderline unbearable. The area around the free weights feels like a sauna, and it’s honestly impossible to maintain a productive workout in these conditions. I’ve been a member at this location for about 6 months, primarily out of necessity, but this thermostat situation is completely out of control. When I brought it up with the front desk, I was told that "the thermostat is controlled at a different location," which makes absolutely no sense and seems like an excuse to avoid addressing the problem. If this continues, I’ll have no choice but to switch gyms. Planet Fitness markets itself as a "judgment-free zone," but it feels more like a "sweatbox zone" lately. Please fix this issue—it’s driving loyal members away.

Insane how this place still had members to patronize them. There’s a countdown to closing time announcement on the loudspeaker every 3 minutes and they start 2 hours prior. Then they are adamant about not allowing you to drop the dumbbells. I mean, they have dumbbells up to 120 pounds, and they demand that you put them down softly after your last rep. The equipment is in ruin and despair. It is a health hazard and dangerous to use any of the bench and some of their machines. The ownership only cares about income, and it’s very obvious because I’ve been coming here for more than a year and I still see none of the equipment receive repairs or maintenance.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Retro Fitness in Belleville, NJ. On May 18, 2024, my wife, who was 39 weeks pregnant, encountered a distressing incident while working out. Despite her visibly pregnant condition and need for a fan, another member became belligerent when I turned it on for her. His aggressive behavior escalated to the point where he punched the fan, breaking it. What is most disconcerting is the gym's inadequate response. There were no managers present at the time, and the young staff member on duty was ill-equipped to handle the situation. Even after the police were called, the gym allowed the aggressive member to continue his workout while my wife and I were asked to leave. I submitted a formal complaint and have made several follow-up calls, but the management's response has been dismal. Despite assurances of a follow-up, it took five days for any contact, and this only happened after my wife gave birth. A subsequent follow-up email was also ignored until I was told today that the owner had received my complaint but chose not to respond. This experience has highlighted severe deficiencies in the management and safety protocols at this facility. I strongly advise potential members to consider these issues before joining this gym. The lack of accountability and proper handling of serious incidents is unacceptable.

Horrible. Place is falling apart. Unfortunately, the class of people that attend this location, just don't care about the place. People use weights under machines causing rubber on weights to break off. No one is bothering with putting weights back in place. Nowadays you spend more time looking for a weight than actually working out. After more than a decade attending this gym, this is just sad. Management seems to have completely given up on the place.

Good for the basics and nothing else. Most of the equipment aside from the treadmills are so old and worn down and it doesn’t seem like they’re aiming for a makeover or upgrade anytime soon
