The coaching and workouts at union street have really helped my overall athleticism. As a high school sophomore, the coaching from Tom has extended to improvement in my other sports, making me a better athlete overall. The gym itself is great, and the people are really inclusive. It even caters to young kids looking for a new sport to try. It’s a great place for beginners and pros alike.

Started training again with Tom, the owner, after a couple years of not having had any boxing training at all and I gotta say it’s been going great so far. He’s super understanding and puts the right amount of pressure on you but without going over your limit where he knows you can’t handle it. It’s definitely different and a bit more challenging being a girl in the boxing world but i find it easier if you actually enjoy doing it. I never leave the gym without feeling accomplished and like I learned something different whether it’s about technique or about myself. Haven’t felt this great about myself in longest time. Absolutely recommend Union Street boxing everybody is always there to help u and available and definitely worth your while

A little about me: I’m a pretty out of shape guy, always have been (6’2”, about 280 for reference). Never been an athlete, never been in a fight, never really enjoyed exercise ever. That is, not until I started working w Tom and the folks at Union St. For the first time in my life, I’ve really looked forward to my sessions here. I’ve never felt judged, out of place, or lesser than just because I’m struggling with the routines. Tom pushes me to do my best, not someone else’s. He tailors the class to fit my fitness level and has been nothing but incredibly patient and understanding with me. This is a gym where courtesy, kindness and respect hold a lot of value. It’s a phenomenal place to begin your journey into fitness if you’re like me and it’s a phenomenal place to learn the sport of boxing (did I mention that Tom is a two time Golden Glove winner AND a hall of fame boxing coach? He’s the real deal, believe it). If you’re questioning or if you’re intimidated, trust me: just try it. There’s no minimums here, no level you need to be at in order to start. Walk in, and watch it begin to seriously make positive change in your life.

Great environment to be in. The coach (Tom) is extremely helpful with whether you want to take that career path of becoming a fighter, or just get a good sweat out. I walked into this gym thinking I was going to get the bare minimum attention, but when I told him that I was dedicated to become a pro fighter one day, he dedicated every morning and afternoon of his time to help me get there. If you’re serious about boxing or want to get in shape, Union Street is definitely the gym to check out.

Brought my kid there (17) very shy. She wanted to work out some aggression and stress in a safe healthy way, she chose boxing. Tom, the dude who runs the place, he is dialed in! Works with all ages, all abilities. When she walked into the gym, he zoned in, spoke to her with finesse, and really comforted her into in amazing opportunity. I'm proud of her, and I'm amazed by Tom! If she doesn't stick it out and wants to do something else, I am confident she will have learned principles from Tom That she will apply in many other areas of life. Thanks Tom!

From the time i walked into MK boxing 6 years ago i knew this was the right place for me. Mike the owner welcomed me and made me feel so comfortable. Having signed up to multiple gyms and never committing to even showing up twice a week, there was never any structure. I had to find something that would make me love going to gym , MK Boxing was definitely the right choice.. Mike really helped me with my conditioning esp with me having Asthma. He Pushed me enough for me to recover quick. I stopped using my inhaler after months of working out 4-5 Times a week weight kept coming off working out become fun and part of my daily life. The workouts are fun, the fellow members are inspiring, the workouts are led by personal trainers who give hands on instant feedback and adjustments during the workouts and just the right amount of encouragement. The atmosphere is awesome. You will not do the same workout twice and if you go you will see the results no question. It’s a life changing gym experience . Don’t hesitate sign up for a beginners class you won’t regret it , i am in the best shape of my life i would not have achieved that if i had not joined MK boxing. I will forever be part of this gym family and I recommend it highly to all my friends and family. Thank you MIKE for always pushing me.

MK Boxing has been a second home to me for almost four years now. I cannot imagine what it would be like without this gym and the people I've met here. This gym is not only a place where you'd want to go to get a fantastic workout, but also a place where you'd want to mingle, meet new people, and have fun. The classes MK Boxing offers, such as Boxing, Kickboxing, MMA, and Muay Thai provide a new and challenging workout (something you would not find at a regular gym). The instructors are motivational, encouraging, and really push you do to the best you can, giving a fun, yet tough workout. A unique class at MK Boxing is the conditioning class, which is great if you want to build strength and endurance. By taking these classes, I have become more confident and healthier. In addition, I now feel like I can defend myself from all that I've learned and the skills I have gained from the classes. The people at MK Boxing are always welcoming, no matter what level, whether beginner or advance, you may be. I have made so many friends, and look forward to seeing and working out with them every time. The owners and employees are friendly, and make sure the gym is clean and safe for all the members. MK Boxing really presents a great opportunity for anyone who is looking for a new and different type of workout, that cannot be done at any other gym. Overall, the atmosphere at MK Boxing is rewarding. My experience at MK Boxing has allowed me to develop a better, healthier, and fitter lifestyle, while having a good time and meeting so many new people. I highly recommend this gym! It is well worth checking out if you haven't done so already!

A little background about me. I am a twenty-something year old female who for the longest time could never commit to a gym or a steady workout routine. I would get easily bored after a while with running on an treadmill, taking yoga classes...etc. I saw an ad for MK Boxing and thought I would try out boxing. I started taking the kickboxing classes Wednesday nights, then added in Muay Thai on Tuesdays, and if I was ready for an extra-intense workout I would go Sunday mornings, where Mike the owner taught the kickboxing class. Besides the classes being great (hard workout, awesome instructors), the main reason I could FINALLY commit to a gym was because of the people there and the small gym vibe. Mike and others would ask me if I was going to go to class tomorrow, and it made me feel like I belonged there and having peers expecting me to be there encouraged me to go on a regular basis. This was different than my normal gym experiences where no one knew who I was/cared that I showed up. This gym makes you feel like you are a part of a family. Now that I have been at the gym for basically a year now, I feel that I have improved tremendously. The classes are great, you learn the fundamentals of boxing, kickboxing...etc. and when you master those, the instructors begin to incorporate more advanced techniques to help you further progress. If you don't want to do the classes, there is a small weight area where you can work out, a ring where you can spar others, and heavy bags to practice on. I highly recommend checking the gym out, or even looking up MK boxing's website where you can view the layout of the gym and read about the instructors. If it is your first time, I would suggest trying out Bobby's kickboxing class on Wednesday nights, or Dennis has a beginners boxing class that really focuses on technique. Bonus!! If you are a big dog lover like me, there is a slight possibility you might get distracted from working out because of the gym mascots, Baylor and Moose, who are sometimes at the gym!

I really enjoy the workouts I do at MK Boxing! It's a great cardio workout, and I'm learning to box. Mike is very knowledgeable in different styles of boxing, kickboxing, etc., so there is never a dull moment. I've taken classes and private lessons and I highly recommend trying it out. It's a welcoming gym and clientele and there are even kids classes.
