Overall please with my experience. My children have Kennedy middle school aftercare program and seem to like it. My only complaint is the gym hours could be extended. The Jacuzzi needs a good sanitation and needs to be a lot hotter. The sauna should be much more hot in temperature. The steam room needs to be sanitized and rules need to be enforced. People need to shower and not wear stinky gym clothes into the steam room And believe that for the cost of the membership these changes should be easy to fix.

Scheduled an appointment with the ECE to enroll my daughter. We showed up, granted a couple minutes late because the parking lot is confusing, and no one knew we were coming. It almost seemed as if I was bothering them with showing up- the two ladies in the office weren’t warm by any means, there was no greeting, no getting to know us, no welcoming, just “someone will be by.” Took the tour. It was incredibly rushed because there was a meeting at 9:45 that our guide had to attend (our appointment was for 9 am). She often times came off as impatient as I worked to navigate my 3yo around a new environment. I made it a point to ask about spot availability and made it clear that I needed to have my daughter enrolled in a program in two weeks. She assured me that they had several open spots. At the end of the tour, an application was basically tossed my way as she rushed off to her meeting and we were left in the lobby. Several staff members passed us by while we sat there and there was no hi, hello, welcome. I tried to turn in the application the following Monday (tour was Thursday). I Didn’t really know where to go or who to drop it off to- no guidance was provided when I was tossed the application, so I went into the JCC. The guy at the counter was confused… had never seen the application before. Called the ECE and I was told to schedule an appointment for a tour. I had already mentioned that we had already done the tour and I just needed to turn the application in. He didn’t know what to do with it, so again called back and one of the unfriendly ladies from the office on our tour day came and grabbed it. Again… not welcoming or friendly. But hey, I liked the facility and program… so maybe she was having an off day…again. I asked when I could expect to hear anything and she said “maybe Friday.” I called in Wednesday to follow up on the application and to make sure that there was still an opening for my daughter. I was told that it would be looked at Friday and that they didn’t know if there was availability. I explained that during the tour I was told that there were spots open, and I again stressed that I needed my daughter to start 1st week In September. Again, told I would get a call Friday. Friday at 1630 (today) I call for an update. Left a message and received a call back shortly after. There was a part time spot, M-W but no full time option available. This is not what I was told when I toured, and I was pretty upset that this wasn’t communicated sooner. There needs to be good communication- when it comes to children especially. The fact that NO ONE knew what was going on- from the tour guide who assured me there was FT spots available and I would be able to start my daughter when needed, the 1st week In September, to the unwelcoming office staff, to the JCC front desk, through no fault of his own, was completely clueless as far as the ECE, to the way applications were evaluated once a week on Fridays, to the program director who was unapologetic to the fact that her staff told me there were FT spots open while she communicated only PT spots were available. AND it took a week to tell me that they didn’t have the availability I needed. You can’t run a good organization on broken communication. Processes need to be streamlined, and the staff could benefit from being more outgoing and warm.

It is a wonderful place. My only issue is that fitness class providers are way too forceful. Some attendees are very fit, I am fit as well but I got hurt in every class I went, they start hard and no stretching, some of them actually go pretty crazy with the speed. I resorted to go to acqua fit, but the lady that was on Tuesday was the very same one that does another class where I got injured. Although many were happy with the acqua fit class, most did not follow, her routine was not apt for the pool. The other two acqua instructors on Sunday and Thursday do get it right. Too bad I will have to skip Tuesdays from now on

Unsanitary facility. My child was eating small crumbs off the ground as he was a week prior when i abruptly stopped by to pick him up early. For them to allow toddlers to eat left over food particles off the ground in the first place raises red flags! Your child can be eating anything whether edible or not and they could care less ! Awesome gym with great views of Tucson, friendly staff, great new tennis + pickleball courts, childcare options are family and schedule friendly. Great smart COVID protocols and the building feels safe to visit.
