Phenomenal Experience at Double 5 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu My 13-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter have been training at Double 5 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for the past five months, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Professor Ismael Aoki is fantastic—by far the most patient and considerate instructor we have come across. His approach to teaching is top-notch, and the level of care he gives to each student is unparalleled. The coaching team, including Chuck, Freddie, Ian, and Mark, is equally outstanding. My daughter was initially hesitant to participate, but now she’s the first one ready to go to class! My son recently competed in the Southwest Classic competition and took home the gold medal in first place. While I’m not saying everyone will win a gold medal, I can confidently say that the quality of training and support at this gym is exceptional. In addition to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, they offer Muay Thai by the Cyclone WBC heavyweight champion and MMA training by a professional MMA fighter. I highly recommend Double 5 for anyone looking for serious BJJ training, Muay Thai or mixed martial arts in Arizona. This place is top-notch!

Visited a few different academies before trying Double Five and now this place has turned into a second home for us. Professor Ismael and his family welcomed us in and we truly cannot envision ourselves training anywhere else. Great staff, great atmosphere, very clean school, great teammates who push us to elevate our Jiu Jitsu, and most importantly we are treated like family and not just another customer. Try out Ismael Aoki Jiu Jitsu and you won’t need to look anywhere else.

I cannot say enough about how awesome Ismael Aoki is and for the way he handles his students, firm yet extremely passionate about empowering them. It’s a perfect compliment to the values and high standards that we have for our family. For a dad with 2 daughters attending. I need all the help I can get to help enforce a confident and positive attitude and mindset. We are truly blessed to be part of the Double Five Family. It’s a way of life!!

My kids and I train here and love it. There is world class instruction along with a family friendly environment. My kids have learned more than just good jiu jitsu instruction, but also are more confident and more respectful of others. I highly recommend this place for kids and adults.

Great Jiu Jitsu school. Awesome kids program and adult program. Great group of people. This gym also has access to Muy Thai and strength and conditioning for people that want to cross train. If you’re looking for a BJJ school in Glendale you found it!
