Great State Fitness

I’ve been to a lot of gyms (honest, about 6 other places) and this is my favorite by far. Mike is methodical in his practice and while it is CrossFit, it’s not at all competitive in nature. I walked into Great State with three years of PT under my belt trying to rehab a herniated disc, with leg weakness, numbness, and constant pain. Mike was so careful with me, analyzing my every move and teaching me mobility alongside the strength. I’m fully out of pain today and can feel my leg. This is a space to empower one another, build confidence and friendships, recover safely from an injury, and set your positive intentions for the day.

Great State Crossfit is a phenomenal gym right around the corner from the Alliant Energy Center where the Crossfit Games are held. I've had the opportunity to drop-in a few different times when in town and always enjoy my experience. The coaching staff is top-notch, the space is clean and well laid out. I'd highly recommend Great State Crossfit to anyone.

Mike's personality and approach to training is great for anyone - he meets you where you are, whether you are a beginner or have a lot of experience. I have been a member since December and going to group class 3X a week is my favorite part of the day. The workouts have variety and I never feel bored. He's always up for my 100s of questions and appreciates my jokes. It's a very welcoming atmosphere and not intimidating at all. Join this gym!

Great place to workout and have fun. Mike is really knowledgeable and always ready to answer any questions I have. Being new to Crossfit, he made me feel really comfortable coming into the gym!

Been doing crossfit for a while but having moved for a 3rd time, I needed a new gym nearby. The gym is a bit small but the owner, Mike, runs a great program. Immediately felt welcomed and a good mix of new and experienced members. Mike cares about his business and it definitely shows. There are other bigger gyms out there with a lot of different coaches, but since Mike teaches the majority of the classes, you're almost guaranteed a quality program. As I always like to say, quality over quantity!
