DTW Fitness

I love this gym! I first found DTW in 2016 and have since left for college a few times and even had a baby I keep coming back not only because of the workouts but also because of the people. Everyone helps motivate one another and that makes it that much less of a struggle to get in and do the work. I enjoy DTW because it’s not like the big gyms with all the intimidating machines, the classes are fairly small and by having trainers lead it takes the pressure off of me to remember how many reps I did lol. I would recommend joining to anyone who not only wants a healthier body but also an amazing group of individuals to help achieve that goal!

The gym is great from the trainers, atmosphere and members here are always very friendly and supportive and the workouts are great! I've always went to gyms in the area where I've always felt judged, you will not have that problem at this gym. Everyone treats each other like family. Also variety in the workouts you will not be disappointed when you leave. Very knowledgeable staff and not only fitness but everything you would need to be successful with a healthy lifestyle. All I can say is LOVE this place!

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Members are wonderful and supportive. Nice upgraded facilities. I like how the workouts change periodically as I get bored easily. The trainers are fabulous and keep things fun. I feel like I am part of a (gym) family!

Previously I have been a member at American Family Fitness (nice, but I got bored and didn't have great results), Planet Fitness (I paid... but never went), BURN Bootcamp trial for 2 classes (HUGE class sizes and no help from trainer), I looked at Orange Theory but didn't like the emphasis on treadmills and buying $200 watches or competing. Then I joined this gym and was a member for about a year and a half before moving to NOVA during COVID. Until I moved to NOVA and started looking for a similar gym, I had no appreciation for how amazing DTW was for me. I WISH I could find this exact gym in NOVA and if I move back to Fburg, I'd join before signing a lease or buying a house. At DTW, the classes are so small that you are almost getting personal training with every class. When I first started going to DTW, I knew none of the vocab. (like, what is a burpee, a kettlebell, a dumbbell...? I knew NOTHING) and frequently felt embarrassed because my form was so bad. The trainers and other members are incredible. They made me feel comfortable, gently corrected my form, modified exercises as needed, AND motivated me/pushed me to do better as my body strengthened. They were also personable, encouraging, and supportive! The classes are short and high energy, fit my schedule, and I never got bored because things changed every few seconds. Sometimes I stayed for two classes in a row. There were no pushy sales strategies. When I traveled, I could put my membership on hold (my gym in NOVA charges $10 each time I need to put my membership on hold!). I had a teacher discount. The InBody was available for free to document my progress (at my gym in NOVA, I have to pay $20 to use inBody, each time!!!). At DTW I began to LOVE working out and I was so happy with my progress. I lost inches all over, gained weight (all muscle), and had the energy to work, exercise, and then kayak late into the evening. I'm really grateful for the experience I had at this gym, truly changed my life because now I feel confident going into a gym, I understand how my body can look (and more importantly: FEEL!) when I put in the effort. I miss this place.

I've been a part of this DTW fit fam for a long time. The trainers care about each one of us and our goals. If you're looking for a place to come for small group training with no judgement, chill vibes and people supporting you - this is the place.
