Crunch Fitness - League City

I joined this past March and it’s been such a great experience. My daughter loved the daycare and the teachers. She always looks forward to “working out”. The class instructors are really kind and encouraging. And are dedicated to our overall wellness goals. The front staff are always friendly upon arrival. The “vibes” are just right here. True community energy and I’m so glad I joined !

I wish I could leave two reviews (while I was there it was wonderful but leaving/canceling was a nightmare). I did do it the right way and canceled in person however my membership fees continued to pull out of my account. I did not notice this at first due to a number of reasons and I was preoccupied. Once I realized the error(s); I contacted them by phone three times and even talked to the manager twice after doing the email requirement. No results. I went through my bank and had to change my debit card to finally quit the charges. I was told that “gyms are like this” according to the bank. (Not entirely true as 24 Hour Fitness moved out of our area and I was able to leave them with no problem.) I did get some of the funds back but not all. This was due to the bank’s efforts. Honestly, I gave up trying with Crunch Fitness. I figure a couple hundred dollars are still unaccounted for. Plus I had to change all of my other accounts tied to the original debit card number. It shouldn’t be this hard to cancel. They have contacted me several times to rejoin the gym but I hesitate to do so due to the poor cancellation process. I would give two types of reviews- 5 stars during the time I was there and 0 stars for the cancellation policy. Hence the rate of a 2 star rating.

Where do I start? Greeted when you come in and leave. The team and MANAGERS constantly clean the gym. Trainers are great. Community respects the gym as well. Dumbbell rack is amazing. Sauna is great. Rest and recovery is awesome. The hydro massage is a great prewarm up to a workout. I’ve been to quite a few gyms and just want to say that this one is managed quite well to get their team on board with maintaining the standard. Few downsides are the number of urinals and stalls in the men’s bathroom and the occasional big crowd but that’s anywhere. Pricing is perfect as well for everything you get.

I have dealt with Johnny Gonzalez in the club and over the phone on a few occasions. Johnny should be the face of Crunch Fitness along with Phillip as these two gentlemen always go above and beyond proving exceptional customer service for their members. Phillip is the GM so I am glad he takes pride in his club and employees. So why is Johnny always so courteous and professional? I guess he has what it takes to be in management or in some capacity to lead and coach others. It would be nice to see someone like Johnny be promoted or given an opportunity to spread the great image this Crunch location has because of folks like him. Please keep up the Great work Johnny! They are lucky to have you and I hope they are able to keep you.

24/7 even during winter storms, I mean what else can you ask for. Great staff and great amenities (boxing area, sauna, heated studio). The membership pricing is good too.
