Columbia Taekwondo has been amazing for my kiddos, especially my son who is 9 years old. He has past trauma and is diagnosed with PTSD, ADHD and anxiety. His anxiety has improved significantly since starting Taekwondo. He struggled to make friends and get along with other kids but has thrived at Columbia Taekwondo. Tyler Russ is fair and firm, which is what I needed for my son. As cheesy as it sounds, watching him interact with the kids has helped me as a mom to maintain discipline and control in our home that was chaos before. I am grateful for not only the instructor but the other families and students who work with the kids, especially the teenagers who take the time to help with class while also modeling good behavior while having fun. I highly recommend you come check it out and get your kid signed up, it's been awesome for my kids.

This place is absolutely amazing!! My two children have been going there almost 4 years now and I wouldn’t choose anywhere else! They attend the after school program (CTKD picks them up directly from school), summer camp (their operation hours are by far the best as we tried various camps before joining here), and even parents night out on Friday nights. All the while the kids attend their taekwondo classes and learn the discipline behind the art (we love belt testing nights to show how much they have learned and grown). Mr. Russ has by far been a huge impact on how my kids act today by being an additional figure encouraging respect, honesty, kindness, etc. This place is truly a second home for the kids and I get to have peace of mind to know they are safe, learning new things, having a blast, and receiving the best support while they grow up to be teenagers.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I do not know Tyler Russ the instructor, and sadly he chose to write a letter to the family court during my divorce stating he knew facts about my children’s life from long before we ever started there. I don’t believe I want a taekwondo instructor inserting himself or his program in my family’s personal life. It is certainly none of his business. It also makes me wonder what he said to my children regarding their father since he is comfortable trying to influence major life decisions that have nothing to do with his program at all. I found that to be completely inappropriate. Questioning the children about the activities of the child’s family outside the program is creepy.

My son has been attending Columbia Taekwondo for over a year now. He loves it and we love Mr. Russ, the instructor. He & his sister began the after school program this year and we couldn't be happier. Instills values we believe in and helps children understand respect and discipline.

Columbia Taekwondo is amazing. Mr.Russ and the staff are great with kids. They teach taekwondo, as well as discipline, respect for others and yourself, and confidence. It has quite literally changed my nephew's life. I would recommend it to anyone of any age.
