Maybe this will get their attention. I have been trying to join this facility for TWO MONTHS. I'll spare everyone the particulars, but this facility should know who I am. Multiple calls, emails, visits, and STILL no movement whatsoever. This facility is run by a bunch of clowns who have clearly never worked in client retention a day in their lives. I would love if my wife could cancel her membership, but I can't even get a response from the supposed "new" employee. Take your business elsewhere and let this organization wither on the vine!

I can only speak to my experiences but I haven’t been super impressed with what I have experienced here. For background, I’m a ymca lifer both as a customer and a former employee (different locations) and love the ymca. Baierl has not been great in a couple areas. First off, Member communication is not great here. For instance, they cancelled childwatch and didn’t send out a communication and the same with the pool / swim lessons in the past. It’s pretty disappointing to get all three of your young kids into the car and have to turn around/not get your workout in. Second off, I was not impressed with their aquatics. It took forever to get into private lessons. Our instructor was very nice but she cancelled 6/10 weeks. On top of that, the process to get into the queue was difficult. They also keep the pool super cold so we wanted to do lessons for the youngest but it was tough. What makes me more critical of the baierl is the price they charge and the issues listed above. They should have better service for how much they bill.

They've made it too difficult to use the pools (which was the entire reason we are/were? members). I understand rules are important for a pool but it's become soo cumbersome it is no longer fun. Retesting for lost necklaces even though they are suppose to have a record of who passes. Pool availability times are wrong because they've closed the pool for swim team and not updated anyone, front desk is even unaware. Also, communication about pool hours and rules is lacking. They change policies without communication and look at you like its your fault you are unaware. Last week there was rolling thunderstorms for 3+ hrs and they didn't even communication the extended closures to those in the lobby waiting until people became irritated. We spend 3 hrs waiting to find out if classes were canceled because driving home and back would have caused us to miss class IF they had happened. When you've got 3 kids and drive 20 min each way, it's not worth the hassle anymore. Sad because their motto is "kids first" which is definitely not the case. It just isn't fun anymore which is sad because I spent my summers at the Y growing up.

We went to this YMCA for the first time to use the outdoor pool. We were yelled at approximately 50+ times for our toddlers running, us not being within arm’s reach of our toddlers (keep in mind we have multiple children), stepping towards our chairs for more sunscreen, our 2 year standing on a chair, etc. The yelling was very rude, loud and not appropriate for children or a family environment. It was the most absurd pool experience I’ve ever had. Why have guests sign a liability waiver and then enforce such strict rules that no pool in the area (or probably America) enforces. Do not bring your kids here!

The Baierl YMCA IS SO MUCH to so many. It starts with the front desk personnel who are friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The equipment is modern and carefully maintained. The clientele is diverse in age and culture, and the Y offers a variety of programs to serve all members. I’ve belonged to several gyms. Without question this facility has provided the best workout atmosphere I have ever experienced. If you want a family friendly experience or a gym for serious grinding, the BAIERL YMCA should be your home.
