Powerhouse Gym Monroe

been going here for over ten years on and off and it's still the best gym i've been to. it has grown in lots of positive ways mostly in the post pandemic time, perhaps since the Golds to Powerhouse rebranding? they also accept active&fit direct. there's a huge amount of space and equipment, including a prior trainer only area which has been open to any person for at least a year now. they seem quicker to fixing equipment than in the distant past. they added platforms to the two squat rack areas so you can deadlift without breaking the floor. generally, they seemed to add a lot of new equipment since 2023/2024, especially in recent months they added a fourth multi purpose rack and more light free weight dumbbells, which were both welcomed. only "complaint" i could make with all these additions is it's more congested, not because of people, but because of how much equipment they put everywhere, but that's honestly a better problem to have versus the opposite. only reasons i hold a star is after so many years, there is no water bottle filler in any of the fountains which is behind the times and that some machines don't have a barbell all the time. i get that people move barbells around but multiple stations with obvious need of barbells should never be missing them but often times its clear the barbells aren't anywhere near by so where could they have gone? recently they've added an extra but then there's one bent one from few weeks ago because some guy impressively squatted five plates on each side.

Clean, beautiful place to do exercise. I like all the different classes they have daily. They have a clean sauna you can use every time you want.

New update: this is now powerhouse Gym not Gold's gym! Still needs an upgrade...some machines have been fixed and then others are now not working 😸 maybe it's time to switch to planet fitness there's only one working stair Master and about 5 ellipticals out of order. This gym does not live up to the Gold's name. I've visited other gold's gym in the past and unfortunately this one is by far the worst one I've been to.... The cleaning ladies do an amazing job at keeping it clean and the front desk girls are super friendly.

Love Powerhouse Gym! The variety of classes is great for all levels, and the trainers are by far the best. I appreciate the women's section but feel comfortable in all areas of the gym. It is truly a great place, with good equipment and fantastic people.

A long time member of 24 Hour Fitness due to where I live but my heart lies with Gold’s. Always serious workouts going on here. The manager was super nice and efficient, allowing me (a visitor on business) to work out on a $15 day pass. Thanks for the great workout! Fix your sign lights though!
