Toms River's Crunch Fitness gym exceeds expectations. My daily morning visits are always pleasant due to the friendly staff, clean location, and varied equipment selection. I highly endorse checking it out if you're unfamiliar with this gym! 💪

Can’t understand the negative reviews here. My experience was great: a clean gym including bathrooms and no broken equipment.I joined, I liked it so much, and the new location is gonna be amazing.

THINK BEFORE JOINING THIS GYM!! Over 3,900 views and counting!! Be careful how you treat people First let me start by saying, I have been working out for multiple years consistently now. Been to many gyms. I was a member of this gym for about 4 years. The gym is my peace and I like to come get a great workout after a hard day of work, like many of you reading this. I have met some cool people at this gym who I plan to be friends with for a while but I feel that may be the only positive takeaway unfortunately. Now, let me tell you that this is THE MOST toxic, unprofessional and hostile gym environment I have ever been apart of. I have witnessed many issues with the front desk staff and members. Issues to the point where the front desk associates have almost gotten physical with members. MULTIPLE times. Complaints get swept under the rug and go unnoticed. Don’t even bother. The general manager just sits in his office and seems to have no idea what the gym needs or what goes on in the gym. The owners are non-existent and don’t do anything to properly manage the gym. I have also heard other staff talking about members’ information to other members. Don’t expect complete confidentiality when joining this gym. Your information may be exposed to random people. Clients are not respected by employees AT ALL. They have “no judgments” written on the front desk in big lettering but do nothing but the opposite. It’s a negative environment. Also, the turnover with managers and employees is astronomical and it’s not hard to understand why. Also, just some things to note. They never have the air conditioner on because it seems they are too cheap to run it. When they have it on, it barely works and they compensate by having fans that blow around hot air. In the summer, it easily gets hot enough for folks to potentially have a heat stroke and that’s a health hazard if I have ever heard one. Corporate is made aware of issues and just doesn’t seem to care. They basically tell you what you want to hear. Also, just to note, don’t even bother coming to the gym in the afternoon or anytime before 7. You’ll see kids talking in groups in front of weights and they will not care if you are trying to workout. Their conversation is more important than your workout apparently. Not to mention, they all have their little cliques like it’s high school. Grown people come here to workout and do not want to be bothered by teenagers standing around flexing and talking. Let’s not forget about the classes on the turf either. They are scheduled at the busiest time of the gym and there is no separate room for the classes. They blast music throughout the gym. Good luck focusing on your workout with them screaming and blasting music you can easily hear through your headphones. Just to add more notes; the equipment is subpar. It is the cheapest, bottom of the barrel stuff on the market. Don’t expect any updates or new equipment as I was a member for years and absolutely nothing was changed. The cleanliness is the same. Mildew on the walls under the blow dryers for example. Simple to clean yet it doesn’t get done. Not too mention they don’t even supply paper towels to wipe your face after a workout. They have gotten better at fixing equipment when it breaks but still could use some improvement. I’ve been to many gyms in my days and this is easily the most toxic, unprofessional and hostile gym I’ve been apart of. Gym culture is just not what it used to be. All of these reviews speaking out against management and a hostile environment could not be more true. There are SO many better options in the area. Take a look at the other reviews, management and staff clearly have a problem treating people with decency and respect. If you are serious about lifting and don’t want to lift in a total negative environment, I HIGHLY advise considering other options than this gym.

i’ve been coming to Crunch since the day they opened. And ever since I started coming here I’ve gotten stronger I’ve gotten more fit and re fell in love with my body. The staff has been wonderful has treat me like family. They cheer me up when i’m having a bad day and hype me up when im having a great day. There’s nothing like being a Crunch Fitness member. Looking back on it I’m glad that the very first Gym I started going to was Crunch Fitness and for the rest of my life, I have no intention on being anywhere else besides Crunch! The new General Manager Mike Rottino went out his way to make sure I had everything i need to properly perform my exercises. He also recommended some exercises that has help me grow even more as an athlete and as gym lover. With the leadership and skill that Mike has I know that Crunch Toms River will be moving forward and getting better every day!

Gym does not compare to NYC sister gyms. Seems to be poorly managed. There was no air conditioning for the past two weeks during a very busy period, prior to and past Memorial Day weekend. The upright bikes are not properly calibrated. The same settings on different bikes yield very different results. Their desk staff is less than responsive. Often they don’t have towels and when they do, they will only provide one. Even when asked several times, very nicely, to use two towels to protect my arms from the elements on the upright bar handles, they outright refused. The mats for stretching are worn and need replacing. On a positive note they have space and equipment.
