I am writing this testimonial that far exceeds a review because Dr. Shaw & Ati gave me my life back. As a 71 year old woman who had just lost her husband of 52 years, the physical manifestation of months of lifting, nursing & caring for my husband had taken its toll. The pain in both my arms was excruciating. I couldn’t move my wrists nor bend my fingers to close. Couldn’t hold a fork, a pen or open a water bottle etc. No movement, no strength- just nonstop pain. I run a farm and a retail store- so this total lack of functionality threatened my whole existence, caring for my animals & earning a living to support us all. I went to my primary doctor who ordered x-rays & upon reviewing them recommended pain killers, muscle relaxers & suggested that the spinal fracture & disc degeneration would require surgery because the conditions including spinal arthritis would only worsen. I freaked out until a close friend recommended Dr Shaw & Ati. I called Ati, who expedited a consultation & Dr. Shaw reviewed my x-rays with me, calmly explained what he saw, examined me, spent time to hear what I was feeling, and prepared a course of treatments, adjustments& spinal stretches to alleviate the pain & regain mobility as well as realign my neck, pelvis, etc, rather than talk of catastrophe and surgery. No pharmaceuticals, no surgery, just hi amazing skilled & empathetic knowledge of the whole human he is treating. Their real dedication to helping restore me to a whole & healthy pain free person was done with patience, warmth, humor, & a holistic belief that in the right hands and provided the right treatment, the body can heal & thrive. "Dr." Shaw ethical compass does not always seem to point north. (Check your bills). When it is time for vacation...he is gone for anywhere from 2 wks to 2 months. Your on your own. So much for not missing a bi weekly or 3x visits per week.

My wife has been seeing Dr Shaw for symptoms she had from Lymes and Doxycycline. After seeing numerous specialists and getting no relief we were referred to Dr Shaw. Over the past 3 weeks we have seen a dramatic improvement of all her symptoms. Abdominal pain, back pain, and anxiety all relieved. Thank you Dr Shaw

I have suffered from Migraines for over 20+ years, was on every migraine medication when I was younger with no success. I tried for YEARS to find a doctor who would take my health seriously, with no luck. Either the Dr was not for me, or the staff itself was awful that I wouldn't even want to go to that practice. I'd say the average Neurologist in NJ has a rating of 2.5. My recent neurologist is pushing botox or a surgery to remove a blood vessel from my brain that "may" relieve "some" migraine symptoms!! I then tried 2 chiropractors in Sussex county with no relief. Neither did any x-rays and only cracked my neck without asking me for any of my medical history. This was my breaking point. The beginning of 2024 was a medical nightmare. I lost 10lbs, no appetite, an average of 10-15 migraines per month and constantly getting sick, along with new anxiety & depression. I also was only getting maybe 4 hours of sleep every night. I happened to drive by Newton Health & Wellness on my way home from Newton hospital. I saw signs in the yard that said "rethink migraine". I am so thankful I decided to walk in the office that day. I was greeted by Ati who immediately made me feel like we knew each other for years. She was able to find a day for me to come in, the same week, for a free consultation with Dr.Shaw. Something about leaving this office, without even meeting the Dr yet, made me feel I was in the right place. I saw Dr Shaw a few days later, and I knew right away I found the right place. He treats you like a person, not a "patient". Dr Shaw explains his treatments and how they work, asks if you have any questions and spends more than just 5 minutes with you. I left with a treatment plan that day & they make it so easy with working around your busy schedule. I was so happy when he had me get an x-ray before he would even touch me. No other practice did this! He had me fill out a very thorough medical history form along with a food log. Dr Shaw recommended vitamins I was lacking and I can not believe how quickly I noticed them working. I can actually tell when I miss a day. I love that his office sells the products right there, and they are good quality vitamins. You never know what you are getting when you buy from big box stores. Don't worry, they do not pressure you to buy through them After my first adjustment I felt so much relief. He explained the areas that needed attention and worked on those areas. The other chiropractors just cracked my neck and I was out of their office within minutes. Dr Shaw went on vacation (much deserved) after just 2 weeks of my treatment and I was VERY nervous that I would go back to migraines and start to feel sick again. I am SHOCKED to say I am now 25 days migraine free! If you have migraines, you KNOW this is unheard of. I can't remember the last time I went even a week without a migraine. Not only have my migraines gone away, I have an appetite again, and I am sleeping through the night! My menstrual cycle is less painful as well. This is the first time in years I don't have to take Tylenol for cramps. I am so grateful I found Newton Health and Wellness as it has completely changed my life in such a short period of time. I feel like I have myself back. I wake up pain free and more positive than I have in over 20 years. Another shout out for Ati, who is the sweetest woman I have ever met. She has the kindest heart and you can tell she truly cares about each individual who walks in the door. She also checks in after your visit to see how you are feeling and gives you fruit every visit! :) I would recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a Doctor who will be your advocate. Although initially a sceptic years ago chiropractic was recommended to me by an orthopedist in lieu of surgery. It worked well. Subsequently moving from Clifton, NJ 11 years ago I did the commute back for further treatment. My efforts to find a chiropractor near me were futile. Met some nice folk’s but none could get the job done. Long story short, my chiropractor passed, and I was forced to seek a new provider once again. Happened on Dr. Shaw’s advertisement and set up an initial meeting. This was a productive meeting and having hobbled up to his office I reviewed my chiropractor failures in Sussex County. Just wanted him to know that I know what works. He replied with “no promises but if it works, he will bring me back 10 years.” Well, he was wrong. Within 2 weeks I got back 20 and I can now keep my beloved “Gentleman’s Farm” that I was about to sell. Fantastic results and I would highly recommend Dr. Shaw to anyone with physical movement/pain. I may be lucky however I think it was his skills.
