Best gym in the North NJ area. Professor Sav is extremely knowledgeable about the sport, and has trained with its founders. More than that, he takes a personal interest in all his students, and really invests in their development. Anyone who wants to learn BJJ and puts in the time can get really good here. Also, the community is just amazing. Really nice people, and a family feel. Can’t recommend the academy enough.

It took me a while to realize why I signed up for a year membership after my first day at the gym, why I signed up for an additional year two months into training at the gym… and I realized it’s because Professor Sav truly cares about each and every person on that mat. No only do you gain self defense skills, get an awesome workout, but you’ll get someone who will push you to better yourself not just physically but mentally as well. Everyone at the gym is willing to help you and we all know each other by name. If you want to learn the art of jujitsu and the rest that comes with it then I’d recommend this gym

I stopped into train while in the area for work. Great class, very welcoming environment. Professor checked in on me to make sure everything was going well. Students were very helpful and welcoming. Definitely will be back. Thank you. OSS

If you’re looking for a place to workout and lose weight, this is your place. If you’re looking discipline, this is your place. If you need a home away from home, this is your place. If you’re in a relationship bring your partner, they will thank you later! If you have kids and need a place for them to have an outlet other than a screen, this is where to go. The knowledge, the people I’ve met, the experiences I’ve had so far from this school have been nothing short of great. If you’re looking for a change or to just better yourself, this is the place. I’ve been here since October and my only regret is that I didn’t start sooner. The changes in my overall life have been astounding. Consistency is key.

I have been training under Professor Savarese since I was 14 yrs old, Sav and everyone at the school have helped me on and off the mats tremendously, I do not know where I would be in life or what I would be doing if I had not joined this school. I learned not only jiu jitsu but life lessons and morals that I live by everyday, and most importantly DISCIPLINE, which is something a lot of young men and women lack these days, I’m forever grateful to Sav and many others for always making me feel at home and having my back. :)
