UPDATE: Still going ~2 years later. Their new Harriet St location is even better-- beautiful, tasteful space, hot showers, lockers, even a snack bar. Everyone who works here is lovely, and I've met some wonderful people in my regular classes too. Come check it out; you won't be disappointed! * I am so glad to have found this place! It's exactly the sort of gym I've been longing for-- small, local, women-owned gym, with classes that are fun and a little challenging but not intimidating. The instructors are fantastic. The space feels cozy and welcoming-- not at all like those huge corporate gyms with fluorescent lights and TVs blaring. If you've been looking to get (back) into fitness in a safe, supportive environment-- consider this your invitation :)

I have been attending The Mix for years and enjoy so much. The facility is always clean and welcoming with a variety of equipment to keep workouts interesting and challenging. The instructors are great. They're fun, knowledgeable, and supportive. Sarah (owner) is fantastic and works hard to make the studios all they can be.

I have been a member of the Mix Fitness Studios for over 2 years. I work with Maydis, an AMAZING personal trainer. The old location was pretty cool, but the Harriet St. location is AWESOME!!! It is larger and had plenty of room for personal training and classes. Good location...safe free parking. The owners are great people. Highly recommend :)

I started out at Mix over a hundred classes ago now, because I wanted to improve my overall fitness to try to better manage my chronic conditions. I used to be active, but had struggled for a few years with feeling too busy, too overwhelmed, and too demotivated to workout regularly. I feel like Mix's programming really helped me get out of that headset, encouraged me to think of my health/well-being more holistically, and guided me in being kinder to myself. I moved from trying out a few classes to a Teal membership, which was a great way to stay consistent -- I was going to 1 or 2 classes a week at that point. Eventually I did a New Year's goal setting challenge, which I found to be really helpful and motivating! After that program, I moved to the Mega membership, and now I regularly attend 3 classes a week (mostly Strength Training and Total Body, but I take occasional Yoga and Bounce classes too--I love them all!). I've been deeply impressed by how thoughtful, kind, and supportive everyone at the Mix is (staff and fellow members). I have set backs pretty often due to my chronic conditions, including a back problem I've been going to PT for. The instructors at Mix--Joe in particular--are amazing at providing multiple modifications for exercises as a standard, but they also go above and beyond to provide specific modifications if you need them. The classes are fun, offered at a lot of really convenient times, and incorporate activities that make me feel stronger and healthier when I leave! I have brought my mom, brother, and husband to the studio as well and they've all enjoyed it too! My brother enjoyed it so much he decided to bring a friend there when they visited from out of state, and my mom now attends classes with me during the summers. I love both of the studio spaces (River and Harriet). Seeing the Harriet space evolve into what it is today has been truly a joy! Sarah and everyone at the Mix has put so much love and energy into creating an ideal space. There is always plenty of parking, locker space, and room in the studio. Everyone who works at the front desk is always so friendly and I really enjoy chatting with them as I get ready. The lobby, lockers, bathroom, and workout spaces are always kept incredibly clean. There are so many well thought out features--the toiletries in the bathrooms, the showers you can rent, the water bottle stands in the studio, etc. etc.--that really make you feel comfortable when you are there. In summary, I love the Mix and I highly encourage anyone to give it a try!

I love the new studio! Same incredible classes and staff, but whole new, incredible setup!! Everything is available right at your finger tips for you to choose your challenge. Jungle trainers, weights, and resistance bands galore. All with the challenging classes, and helpful, friendly, and amazing instructors I've grown to expect from The Mix! Can't wait to continue to explore all the offerings this space has available!
