I'll admit, I had a chip on my shoulder in regards to CrossFit for a long time and it wasn't until I became pregnant actually that I went to CrossFit Kailua more regularly -- mostly because it was the only group fitness that spent so much time emphasizing and normalizing modification of the workouts (for pregnancy, varied fitness levels, injury, whatever!) It kept me moving through both a singleton and twin pregnancy 😮💨, but I stayed for the community. Becoming a mom can feel like you've lost membership to a lot of clubs that used to feel like home to you. And I get why a lot of moms accept isolation. But CrossFit Kailua has helped me stay connected to myself, offered a stable community, and welcomed me to workout while bringing my children. I feel a sense of belonging, community, connection, the excitement of progression, and of course, athleticism. I can honestly say 3 kids later I'm the fittest I've ever been and I constantly get asked by strangers what my "postpartum secret is." 100%, it's this place. Love CFK! ❤️

Don’t sleep on open gym! You have the entire gym and you can use all the equipment and there’s also a coach there the whole time to help you with what your goals are. Besides that the classes help keep you on track and teach you new things. Lots of fun events to train for! What a great community!

I've dropped in two different times this year for a couple weeks each and have been welcomed warmly by both coaches and members :) !! I am pretty out of shape (was MUCH worse before barely able to lift 20 pounds) and was intimidated to see them earlier in my fitness journey. But now I am so sad I didn't drop in earlier in my fitness journey and instead sat around while visiting home. Even though I'm the last one finishing and have the lowest weights, everyone is encouraging and even with partner workouts we've managed to figure out splits before the workout to make sure my partner isn't resting forever~ With that I'd say even though the coaches do give great guidance, you should go there knowing your limits and how to modify/scale if you're a beginner and dropping in (which is why 3 months prior experience is required). Now I look forward to visiting home and not losing progress in my workout journey!

I have been all over the world with my job and most boxes are really good. This one is amazing!!! The coaches are professional and The members are so nice. One of the best gyms I’ve been around and the beach workout was so much fun. Highly recommend if you’re on Oahu, go do a week drop in. The members are some of the coolest people I have ever met, and a pretty rad view right next to the gym Keep up the hard work PS…. Taylor and Rachel love the dad jokes! 🤓

I’ve been at CrossFit Kailua for just over 6 months. This is the 4th CF gym I’ve been able to train at and it’s amazing. The owner Rachel is so intentional about programming and priming you for the workout. I have never been to a CrossFit that is this good about warming up properly and specifically for the workout. All her coaches are ACTUAL coaches. They’re watching every single person. Adding tips cues and encouragement wherever needed. There are also regular clinics held to help athletes improve on technique and progression. To top it off, this gym has the absolute best community ever. Zero drama, everyone genuinely cares about each other’s successes and there is no ego despite a gym overflowing with talent and strength. I love this gym so much. It’s made Hawaii feel like home.
