Powerhouse Gym

As long as I live in Tampa, I refuse to switch gyms! Powerhouse of North Tampa is such a welcoming, family-like, community. The staff are amazing and always welcome you with a smile. If the equipment you wanted to use is taken, there are multiple other options to choose from. The yoga class is challenging and such a joy to attend. This not your stereotypical, commercial gym! I recommend Powerhouse of North Tampa to anyone I see. You won’t regret it!

This is a great gym overall. great positive atmosphere for any kind of lifter but there are lots of machines that are hardly ever broken which is great for building muscle. gym owner cares a lot about the actual people that come vs just the money.

I’m giving this place 5 stars because I’m a former bodybuilder from back in the 80s and 90s and I absolutely love old-school hard-core gyms like this. It’s definitely not perfect because there are some piece of equipment in need of repair, it’s a bit crowded with machines, the ceilings are very low, and there is not much of a focus on cardio equipment. However, the fact that they have more unique pieces of weight equipment in this facility than any other gym I’ve ever been to, including some machines that I’ve never seen before and some that I haven’t seen in 20+ years, more than makes up for any minor shortcomings. If I lived in the area, I would definitely join this gym.

I was down in the state for a month and I had the best experience with the team there as well. The owner and his team are very respectful and generous people. If I could attend to this gym for a longer duration of time, I 100% would without a doubt. Great and reasonable prices, great variety of machines

I have been lifting at this gym for 7 years now and it is truly one of a kind gym in the Tampa area. Powerhouse on North Florida is an old school, body building gym with older but super cool and unique equipment that is not usually found in newer gyms. Even though the gym is older and experienced lifters frequent this gem of a gym, the atmosphere is extremely friendly and people clean up after themselves. Eddy, the owner, is one of the friendliest people I’ve met and is always looking out for his gym members. I personally drive an hour and a half every day after work to come lift here because it feels like home and the experience is worth it. Happy lifting.
