Wasted opportunity because of poor management. These clubs could be so much better than they are. Unfortunately, due to poor management and a revolving door of staff, the club consistently underperforms. The most evident example is the consistent lack of attention to detail, and simply taking care of what the club already has (see photos of just a few examples). Monthly dues continue to rise $100+ year over year; however the quality of the facilities and club experience declines. Makes you wonder where the extra revenue is going…or how it’s being managed. If you are a member or thinking of joining; next time you are walking around, look and notice how many things have been neglected. Lastly, if you scroll through the reviews you can see a majority of the positive reviews are from corporate/private events. Not members.

For a wedding party of 65… It took 45 minutes to get the mother of the bride a plate of salmon. Bread came in the middle of the entrée. The digs are nice… I just don’t think wedding service was on its game this time around.

Course was great to play. the greens were super fast! The PA was an real ass to our group. Said we were a hole and a half behind after three holes and addressed one of our foresome in a very disrespectful tone about not having his shirt tucked in. Called the pro shop to let our concerns and issues be known and they said we were on pace after 4 holes and didn't know why the PA approached us.

We have been members of Blackstone for years as we live in the neighborhood and it is a requirement and I cannot express how awful this place is. We've done 2 events here, the first was our wedding - we booked the venue about a year in advance and weren't receiving any information. In calling a few months out, we were told that the event coordinator had left and we would have to basically start from scratch with the new event coordinator. The new event coordinator was not happy that we did not use her preferred vendors (e.g. the ones that give her a kickback) and so let's just say her responsiveness and candor was not helpful. Fast forward to our event, we paid for the open bar package and found out that our guests were charged for drinks the entire time. It was a complete scam. The next event we booked was a fundraising event for a college - my husband could not get anyone to return his phone calls to book the event until he physically went to the GMs office. Once it was actually booked, the street tacos bar that we hosted looked like a Walmart special and quite honestly was embarrassing - I cannot believe a private club would put out such a poor product. Aside from the events, there is the pool - which is too small for the capacity of the neighborhood and good luck getting service. If you walk up to the bar to order an overpriced drink, you'll have to wait until the staff puts their phone down or stops playing grabass with each other to take your order - I recommend just ordering something from a can so it's at least made correctly. You also have the restaurant - you can go in on any given night (except for Mondays when the Club is closed to dues paying members to host private events) and expect 7 people at the host stand, no one will look up to seat you until you've awkward stood there for 7-10 minutes. You'll have to ask for a menu, water and silverware once you get a waiter - and don't expect that waiter to come back anytime soon to take your order. But once you do get your overpriced food, don't expect flavor or for it to be filling - you'll probably going to have to get fast food on the way home. We've had frozen chicken served to us, we had out of town guests and went in at 6:30 for Prime Rib night, ordered the prime rib, and in getting to the prime rib station were told that they were out and not making anymore that night - but we were welcome to the side salad that came with the prime rib. All in all - this place is terrible and continues to get worse. Correction: every couple of years we get a new GM who brings in a new Chef, they are OK for about 6 months, and then it gets progressively worse again. Don't waste your money or time joining this place or hosting an event there. If we could drop our membership we would in a heartbeat, but the Club holds the neighborhood hostage and with guaranteed dues and required service charges, they have no reason to enhance the member experience.

Poor management and double dipping. The clubs shuts down the golf course on Mondays for “maintenance”. However, they use Mondays to sell corporate events to companies so they can generate more revenue. So they charge their members for a day they can’t use the golf course, then turn around and rent it out to different companies (I.e. double dipping). The lack of maintenance has shown and overplay is bringing down the quality of the course. And theres no evidence that the added revenue is going back into the club. Sad to see the negative impact greedy and poor management is having on the club.
