24 Hour Fitness

I had a disappointing experience with the Pleasanton location of 24 Hour Fitness. They created an unnecessary sense of urgency by falsely claiming my membership was expiring, even though I still had an entire month left. They then presented a so-called “great deal” for renewing everything for the year, which I reluctantly agreed to after their repeated insistence. However, the situation has since escalated. Despite their assurance that the annual fee was part of the deal, they are now constantly harassing me for payment of this same fee. It feels deceptive, as this was never properly communicated during the sign-up process, and I feel tricked into agreeing to something that wasn’t fully transparent. This lack of professionalism and honesty is unacceptable, and it has left me questioning whether I can trust this gym moving forward. Members deserve clarity and respect—not pressure tactics or misleading promises. Don’t fall for any of their deals. Would not recommend based on this experience.

I used to go to this Gym and have spent thousands on personal trainers here and had good results. Today I took my son to sign up and schedule personal training sessions and the front desk guy, who said is GM of the place, wouldn’t let us in. He said I need to upgrade my membership and when I asked if I can show the gym around to my son, he said no!! It looks like this gym is run by really stupid people now. I’ll look for trainers in Bay Club now.

"I recently joined this gym, hoping for a clean and well-maintained facility, but unfortunately, it's far from it. The equipment here is broken or outdated, and hardly any of it seems to be in working order, making workouts more frustrating than productive. The steam room is unbearable – it has a strong, unpleasant odor, and the hygiene standards seem almost nonexistent. It doesn’t seem to be cleaned often, which is unacceptable given the amount of people using it daily. As for the women's bathrooms, they’re consistently in a terrible state. It’s a huge disappointment to find them dirty and poorly maintained, with some amenities out of order more often than not. Overall, I feel like I’m paying for facilities that don’t live up to basic standards of hygiene or maintenance. Until there’s serious improvement, I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone."

The amount of dust and grime near treadmill. The strong smell and obvious mold in the shower. Pool smells strongly off PH. I tried so hard not to leave a negative comment but realizing I cannot cancel my membership and want to go to a clean, refreshing gym is frustrating. You can smell a stitch when you walk in. I let mgmt know (after waiting around at the desk for an infinite amount of time until I realized they/he was in his office) about the stitch and he said it was due to a one time clean of a storage office. I guess I will use the Livermore 24 Hr but...I planned to start my days at this one then go to work since my job is seconds away and so is my home. They might need a full remodel. I'm not sure why they would assume anyone would feel confident and comfortable to work out then shower in these conditions.

One star because I’m still alive. Every machine I used had a defect, and most were completely broken. The pull pins looked like they’d been through a war, and the concrete anchors were basically just suggestions at this point. In my non-professional opinion, this place is a safety hazard. The staff is fine, but I’m pretty sure maintenance hasn’t been a thing here, EVER. I’ve never written a bad review, but this place is a dump. If I wanted to risk my life for a workout, I’d just try lifting a car.
