NOW yoga is a beautiful studio with the sweetest teachers! They are so welcoming and the classes are excellent. They offer a free outdoor class on Saturdays, too! I highly recommend this studio.

We are monthly members and take class here almost every day (mostly vinyasa yoga). It's our favorite yoga studio that we have experienced. The instructors are all excellent, and there is a lot of flexibility, kindness, and understanding for a broad range of physical needs. If you want to get a great workout and work up a sweat, there is plenty of opportunity for that. If you are at any level of yoga expertise, or just want to have a calmer practice, it is encouraged by all instructors to find what you need.

I had the most wonderful experience on this yoga retreat to Todos Santos, designed by Augusta and Melissa. I didn’t know anyone and came back with 10 friends. The time together was well thought through, classes were soulful and inspirational, food was super nurturing and we had plenty to time to just rest, sit, meditate, sleep, go to town - answer to whatever our soul needed. Highly recommend joining any event organized by Now Yoga.

NOW yoga was the first place I felt community when I first moved to Portland 6 years ago. There are so many wonderful teachers and offerings and you are always greeted with immense kindness. The studio space on Division is bright and airy a perfect escape from the hustle. Always love practicing at NOW!

For the first time in 23 years of living in Oregon I walked into a yoga center owned by a South Asian. It was such an amazing feeling. The space has so much healing energy which I am sure is a reflection of the owners and teachers that teach there. I am so glad I went there and am looking forward to reconnecting with my cultural heritage once again only because I don’t have to worry about it being co-opted and being taught in a manner that is not rooted in its history.

Welcoming, peaceful, and absolutely empowering. Traveled far to practice at a such an intentionally owned, curated, and community studio. If you practice, this studio is a MUST-go! Finally nailed my Crow pose in practice today with Newsha!

The most inclusive, welcoming, authentic space I've ever practiced yoga in. Teachers are gifted at translating the principles underlying yoga, and the postures, into language that resonates and helps me access all that yoga has to offer. Thank you, BYMC, for finally making a practitioner out of me!

I’ve been attending the BYMC for several years now, both in person and virtually because the teachers offer nurturing instruction and understand how to adjust the yoga practice to tailor it to each student’s needs and abilities. I’m in my 70’s, and took up yoga later in life, and because the instructors offer various ways to approach each position, I can safely and enjoyably adapt the yoga practice in ways that heal me, make me stronger, and more agile. The teachers are warm, welcoming, and interested in all who attend, providing a sense of inclusive community. (They offer a check-in for current requests with each who attend.) In each session, I am enriched by some pearls of wisdom, humor, or down-to-earth acknowledgement of our common experience. It is inspiring. When it is possible to attend in person (I live out of state most the year), I luxuriate in the good vibes and aesthetics the studio offers. I hope seniors like myself, or those recovering from injury, or physically challenged, know they are welcome in this center of all ages, abilities, and orientations. There are even chair yoga classes where true yoga poses are modified with the support of a chair so not to cause stress on the body, and yet you finish the session with a sense of pride and accomplishment that you can participate in this healing and emboldening practice of yoga.

After a couple years away from yoga, the classes at this studio have helped my body seamlessly transition from inactivity back to the mat. The variety of instructors are warm, welcoming and support all levels of practice. Here’s my special thanks to yogaRIOT for providing a safe space to get my post-yoga glow back.

This is an excellent studio with a variety of great instructors who are happy to answer any questions. The class styles are all heated- power vinyasa, deep stretch and restorative classes. I also like the yang/yin which is a flow followed by deeper stretching. They do a nice job creating community and helping people progress in their yoga practice. Booking classes online is the way to go as they do fill up - especially on weekends and 5:30pm. I've been going regularly and find myself stronger, with more ease in my body and more resilient. Thank you!!

It was a pleasant surprise to find a hot yoga studio upon moving to Sellwood, I did the two week $39 unlimited pass and was hooked! I’ve had a membership for a little over a year now and it’s only gotten better. They have a variety of instructors with a lot of classes through out the day. Stoked to get to practice with such good energy and people.

Accessible, welcoming, and a beautiful studio tucked away in an alley for some relief from the busy city. The studio set up is intentional and creates ease for students upon walking in. I visited for a class with April and loved it - hoping to be back!

Exactly what a yoga studio should be: a welcoming space with skilled and helpful teachers. They offer a variety of classes - vinyasa and hatha flows as well as more restful options like yin and restorative. They are frequently putting on workshops, the ones I've done have felt like a good value. I've noticed that people of all ages/genders/races are often in attendance which is a sign of a good place imo. Very affordable compared to other studios in town, I highly recommend.

Mirrorless studio with knowledgeable and mind-body connection focused instructors is why this is one of my favorite yoga spots in town. I've brought several friends new to yoga to this studio, and the morning flows are especially beginner friendly.

Was in town visiting and went to a noon all levels Hatha yoga class with Jenna Darfler. The class was great! The studio was beautiful and it was so easy to drop in by booking through MindBody. Also appreciate the affordability of dropping in for 1 class. Highly recommend this studio and hope to return on future trips. Parking was easy to find and they also have mats you can borrow.

I have been going to Peoples Yoga on and off since it was in the little upstairs room on Belmont. Today I took the Sunday donation class with Charlie (it was her 8th class teaching since graduating from Peoples TT) She had a great pace and tempo and gave us a 10 min savasana which was superb, supreme and much needed! The new Hawthorne studio is conveniently located across from New Seasons and a bunch a great food places. It’s a big zen den of self care. Feeling lighter and more loved. Thanks Peoples🥰 XO, Erin

Looking for a Yoga or Pilates studio, look no further! Everyone at the studio is warm and genuinely dedicated to promoting wellness! I love the instructors at The Practice Space. My favorite is Kimi, who teaches Vinyasa Yoga and Sustainable Strength classes. Each session is unique, and she is always open to any specific body issues or aches before class to incorporate them into her routine. I appreciate the positive vibe from all the teachers, from Hannah to Scarlett—they're all fantastic! Parking is convenient, with a bus stop right out front, and there are plenty of bike racks, food carts, coffee options, and parks nearby!

Exceptional pilates studio. The instructors really focus on doing the movements correctly, which I appreciate. Lovely, light space, and their membership options are more affordable than other studios in the area. They also have CoreAlign classes, which are hard to find and really amazing pilates equipment.

I could not love a studio more. A calming and beautiful environment with knowledgeable teachers. It is the only place I can find in the entire Portland area that teacher mat pilates classes - and the classes are just excellent. The teachers have a deep understanding of movement and alignment and are so kind and welcoming. I love the speciality classes offered, like folklore yoga or a class that teaches mind/muscle connections. The owner just GETS it. I love this studio!!

I returned to The Practice Space earlier this summer after a 5+ year hiatus. I'm so so SO happy I did. I came in with a very arthritic, swollen right knee due to many years of running. Months later, my knee is less swollen, stronger and just plain happier! My whole body is stronger through pilates mat, hatha yoga and reformer classes. Krista and all the instructors are fantastic, empathetic and well, fun people to be in community with. I can't recommend Practice Space enough, especially for folks who are looking for different strengthening classes that don't make you feel like you are some inferior workout fanatic.

I have been going to Yoga Refuge for about a year. The studio space is clean, welcoming, and pleasant. I have taken classes primarily with two of the instructors and a few subs, but every experience I have had has been incredibly positive. I have especially enjoyed the prenatal and post-natal classes taught by Jenna. Jenna is kind, welcoming, and fosters an amazing community-building atmosphere. She tailors each class to the needs of the students, and provides a good balance between challenge and restoration. I am grateful to take classes here and recommend the studio to people of all levels of practice.

Thank you Yoga Refuge for being a grounding sanctuary in my life! Danielle, the studio owner creates a spacious, welcoming and inclusive environment. There are many styles to choose from, and all the teachers I've experienced are skilled and caring. The incredible sound baths with Laura are also a must! I also appreciate that I can access certain classes online and they are recorded so I can fit into my schedule.

The name truly fits what Yoga Refuge offers: a place of acceptance, comfort and refuge from the noise and sharpness of modern living. I have attended classes with almost every instructor and have enjoyed them all and love Danielle, Kat, Melanie, Jenna, Birdie, Richelle, Claudia, Amanda J and Amanda S. They offer a wide range of styles but they are all welcoming, skilled and wonderfully unique. I’m so thankful to have found this yoga home after trying so many other studios. This is a special studio that truly makes yoga accessible and inviting to all regardless of experience level.

Beautiful, affordable, friendly place to practice yoga. I've found the other students to be warm and inviting, the teachers have been kind and knowledgeable. The space feels very inclusive and welcoming. I like the various class formats that make the practice accessible to people across ages and abilities. Memberships are very affordable and there is a scholarship option for folks dealing with financial burdens or systemic inequities, which I appreciate. Recommend whole heartedly.
